On the 17th, SNSD’s company, SM Entertainment, has revealed that SNSD’s mini-album, which was released on January 7th, has surpassed the 100k mark (Entertainment’s standard total) and is now approaching the 110k mark. With ‘Gee’ as the title song, SNSD’s mini-album has become the first album to sell more than 100k.

SNSD is dominating not only online charts, but offline charts too.

The title song, ‘Gee’ that’s located on SNSD’s mini-album and has made over 100k of sales, is being appraised as a crazy influence, driving people nuts. Gee is made up of an addictive melody and lyrics and in KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank’, it has been number 1 for 9 consecutive weeks, still at the peak of its popularity. This has helped boost the mini-album’s popularity.

SNSD, with their 100k sales, has sold their first album in November 2007 and this is their 2nd album to surpass 100k sales, which they’re happy to have done. Korea’s music industry association states that SNSD’s 1st album has sold at least 120k albums.

SNSD is the first girl dance group to have been able to sell 2 albums, consecutively, that have surpassed 100k sales since the middle of the year, 2000.The 9 girl group, SNSD, has become the first artist to sell 100k albums this year.

News of WonderGirls SunYe passing out during their concert performance in America had taken many fans by surprise.

Photos of WonderGirls SunYe coming out of their hotel in America un-conscious have been circulating on the internet. WonderGirls are currently in America after taking part ‘The JYP Tour 009′ concert tour. The concert tour ended on the 8th.

In the photo, a female was seen with her hair all over her face and a note attached to the photo which says ‘SunYe who passed out at the hotel on 11th March’. But WonderGirls‘ representative had denied that the woman in the photo to be SunYe.

The JYP representative said, “I was also shocked when I saw the photos and immediately phone over to New York. This is all an misunderstanding and we had good laugh out of it. SunYe is currently very healthy and is doing well.”

WonderGirls will be back in Korea on either 19th or 20th to prepare for their upcoming concert.

Kwon Sang Woo is back with his first film since the birth of his son. The film is entitled "A Story Sadder Than Sadness". Also starring in this film is the elegant Lee Bo Young and Lee Bum Soo. Nam Gyu Ri of Seeya also made a special guest appearance as a terrible singer (she played herself). The movie was released in Korea on March 12th and is the number one flick in the Korean box office over the weekend.

Stills of the first filming scenes for the Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee spy drama IRIS was released today by Taewon Entertainment today to much fanfare. The production team had begun filming for the highly anticipated drama at Lake Tazaka in Akita, Japan on 10th March. The first scene to be filmed was the date between Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee at the ski resort with the beautiful wintry enviroment leaving a deep impression on everyone.

Other cast members Jung Joon Ho, T.O.P., etc will subsequently make their way to Akita in the next few days to film a thrilling chase scene in the snow. Many Japanese fans and tourists have been flooding the filming locations for the past week to get a glimpse of the popular hallyu stars like Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Hee, Kim So Yeon who are already there.

Beautiful Korean Goddess Son Dambi To Resume Singing

Son Dambi will be releasing her 1st studio album. According to Pledis Entertainment, "Son Dambi will be releasing her new album on the 26th which will have 10 songs. This will be her 1st studio album since debuting in June 2007 with her Cry Eye single. Besides some new songs, it will also include a remix version of Crazy which swept the charts last year."

Fans will be able to listen to the songs from her new album from the 24th through the various music websites in Korea. Because of the global economic crisis, production for her Hollywood debut movie Hype Nation had been delayed indefinitely. But Son Dambi was not going to remain idle and is thus making full use of the opportunity to release a new album.

This also meant that Son Dambi will finally return to the stage once again to promote her new album having stopped all activities after the year-end gayo daejuns in 2008.

"Female Big Bang" to appear in a CF with Big Bang!

"Female Big Bang" will make their first public appearance through a CF with Big Bang. 

The team name has not been finalized yet, but they have been called as 'Female Big Bang', because they were administered and produced by Big Bang's company; YG Entertainment.

The four members of 'Female Big Bang' will make their first appearance in a CF; according to a source on March 18th, they will be filming for a product together, and Big Bang and 'Female Big Bang' will sing a new song together.

The members of 'Female Big Bang' has been finalized to be Park Bom, Park Sandara, CL and Kong Minji.

Another day, another endorsement. Goo Jun Pyo would be happy but I think Lee Minho is happier. No mop of curls just to sell a product! And these aren’t beers or biscuits, these are hot wheels. I’m quite thrilled.

So, Cadillac supplier GM Korea announced today at a special induction ceremony that Lee Minho will be taken on as ambassador for one of the biggest names in car history. A representative of the company said that Lee Minho was able to portray a character that fits entirely with their product image, citing especially Goo Jun Pyo’s awareness for the fashionable and his classy demeanor. Basically what he meant was - chaebol. Chaebol, chaebol, chaebol.

GM Korea was probably waiting all along, for an obnoxious chaebol that could actually be well-liked by their target demographic, or all demographics for that matter. I guess Lee Minho passes since he comes off as snotty if he doesn’t smile but I wonder what a loss of the pamma would do really… ?

Drunken Tiger's Tiger JK showed off his and Yoon Mi Rae's (Tasha/T) presh son Jordan on the toddler's very first birthday. On March 15th at the Seoul Grand Hilton Hotel the Hip Hop artist in spe celebrated with his family as well as his soon-to-be fans including Yoon Do Hyun, Dynamic Duo, Wheesung and Eun Ji Won. According to very reliable sources they set the roof on fire.

Tiger JK and Tasha married secretly  back in April 2007, followed by a child already the following year.
T is busy working on her new album "Don't Leave...", while her husband is also very committed to working on a new one (album, not baby).

SNSD Officially Taking a Break from ‘Gee’ at End of March

Girls that have been at the peak of their popularity since the beginning of 2009 with their new hit song, ‘Gee’, officially announced a break from airing on programs at the end of March.

As of March, SNSD will be taking a temporary break from their lives as singers and will be taking a break as they work on individual CF shoots and filming.

SM representative announced “SNSD will temporarily stop airing on variety programs with MBC ‘Yoo Jaesuk & Kim Wonhee’s Come to Play’ as the final show on the coming 23rd. Also, “They will not be able to perform on KBS ‘Music Bank’ or MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ or SBS ‘Inkigayo’ this week due to their appearance at ‘2009 Pattaya Music Festival’ as Korean Representatives from 20th to 22nd.

The representative also stated “SNSD’s 9 members have been pushing themselves for the past 3 months and they will be taking times to relax and rest” also “Everyone other than Taeyeon who is starring on ‘WGM’ & ‘ChinChin’ and Yoona starring on ‘Cinderella Man’ does not have any specific schedules planned”. However each member could possibly take on new roles as MC, DJ or actresses as chances allow them.

SNSD who have set a record on 9 consecutive wins on ‘Music Bank’ also won 4 consecutive wins on Thailand’s ‘Channel [V] Countdown Asian Chart’ and was chosen as ‘February’s Top Artist of the Month’ and have experienced immense popularity internationally.

On the other hand, a intense battle for popularity is expected during the period called, ‘Post SNSD’, after SNSD has dominated the scene since January.

Big Bang has been spotted by the public while taking a summer vacation in the side of Han River.

Big Bang did a photoshoot on March 16th for Italian sport brand, FILA’s summer collection.

The five members of Big Bang has been busy with individual schedules after their last concert on February 1st. The concepts for this photoshoot were ‘brightness’ and ‘healthiness’; they were perfect for the images, and were stylish to prove their status as ’style icons’.

It was hard for the photoshoot on 16th due to the sand wind and cold weather. Big Bang members were in short sleeves and shorts; despite the bad weather, they were professional. While the yacht on the river was shaking vigorously due to the strong wind, they were still able to jump and dance for the photos.

This campaign will be on around May through videos, papers and stores after their spring collection.

Big Bang will carry out individual schedules as solo artists, in variety shows and acting, and is scheduled to release a next album.

Girls' Generation think they're fashionistas, releasing pictures from their style book on the 17th. With the popularity of Gee, Girls' Generation has been getting a lot of attention as trendsetters with the explosive popularity of colorful skinny jeans. Apparently, wearing different color jeans suddenly makes you a fashion icon.

Nam Yoon Hee, who prepared the style book, said, "To check out the girls' fashion styles, I visited their dorms and realized that it would be difficulty to portray their distinct personality only on stage. To show the 9 styles as well giving practical styling tips is the special feature of this style book." This style book will be released in the April issue of Elle Girl and online through blogs on the 17th.

Kim Won Hee Next on Family Outing

If you haven't been keeping up with Family Outing, Lee Bum Soo was the guest family member for the past 2 weeks with actor Hwang Jung Min appearing after him this coming fortnight. The guest family member after Hwang Jung Min was announced to be actress/host Kim Won Hee today. According to a Family Outing staff, "Kim Won Hee yosa (lady) has agreed to appear on Family Outing as a guest family member."

Many are anticipating for fireworks as Kim Won Hee has shown great chemistry with Yoo Jae Suk while hosting MBC Come to Play every Monday night. Kim Won Hee has also impressed many with her hosting style especially in the infancy of MBC We Got Married days. She could potentially add even more spice than what all the other previous female guests had bought. Another staff expressed, "Kim Won Hee yosa is someone who can "survive" even in "adverse" conditions and I am anticipating for a fun and enjoyable filming experience."


Filming will take place later this week and and will be shown on 5th April.

The production of Boys Before Flowers has put out another supplemental soundtrack, which they’re calling an “F4 Special Edition” OST.

Not only does this mini-album contain new songs, there are plans for more to come — each member of F4 (that’s Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon — like they require introduction, ha) has recorded a track. They aren’t original songs, though; each actor personally chose a song to cover.

The first to be unveiled is Kim Hyun-joong’s remake of “행복이란” (Thing Called Happiness), posted below, which is a song that enjoyed a lot of popularity when it was first released in the ’70s. It was sung by Jo Kyung-soo, the singer father of actor Jo Seung-woo (Go Go 70). [you can hear and download it at the source]

8Eight made a startling announcement on the radio that, "there is a version of the Without A Heart MV with So Hee and Heechul as the main characters." They further explained that, "Netizens had edited the music video in many unique ways and uploaded them."

"One that especially stood out was a video that had So Hee as the vampire girl and Heechul as the male role. It had a very fresh idea and was very amusing to watch. Because the person's feel for music was good, the music and the video fitted very well together. Trip to USA ‘Sweet Holiday’

3 members of SS501, who showed excellent activities with ‘U R Man’ & KBS ‘Boys Over Flowers’ OST, will be leaving for USA today (19-Mar).

They will take a good rest in USA and will be returning in a weeks’ time. Kim HyunJoong and Park JungMin will continue with their schedules in Korea.

SS501’s representative said “The 3 members will leave for awhile for their holiday. After which in May, the 5 of them will go to USA together. However, there is no confirmation on this schedule yet.”

With Kim HyunJoong’s appearance in ‘Boys Over Flowers’ and Park JungMin debut stage in musical ‘Grease’, the rest of the 3 members of SS501 also received great popularity with ‘Boys Over Flowers’ OST song ‘Because I am Stupid’. This song had been ranked first in various online websites, SS501’s singing abilities also gained recognition.

Their dance song ‘U R Man’ had won the mutizen song award in SBS ‘Inki Gayo’ in January, climbing to their peak of their career.
