Lee Hi becomes first Korean singer to join Spotify's year-end holiday project

K-pop star Lee Hi has become the first Korean artist to participate in Spotify's year-end project, "Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection," the music streaming giant said Thursday.

"Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection" is a playlist featuring re-recorded versions of original songs from different singers. As part of this project, Lee re-recorded her 2020 single, "For You" with a fresh new holiday vibe and released it exclusively on Spotify.

"Thanks to Spotify, I was able to reinterpret For You as a new romantic holiday song for this year-end season," Lee said through Spotify. "It was fun to recreate a much-loved track for Spotify's Holiday Singles for broader international music fans... I hope this new version can comfort listeners so that they can have a happy holiday during a time when cheer is needed."

The musical is about a fictitious Christian boy band. NU’EST’s Baekho is set to play Matthew, the leader of Altar Boyz who is an all-rounder as he is a people’s person, a songwriter and uses his confidence to lead the group. Astro’s Sanha will play Abraham, the mood maker of the group. SF9’s Taeyang is the mature and sexy Juan who handles the costumes and songwriting. Golden Child’s Y plays Luke, the underdog while his group member, Joochan is Mark, the choreographer of the group. Eunhyuk will become the first K-pop idol to direct a musical

#3 Yoon Hyun Sang featuring IU “When Would It Be”
Yoon Hyun Sang signed with LOEN after his top ten finish on the first season of K-Pop Star. This song, a duet with his labelmate IU, would be his debut. The song, as with all the songs on the “Pianoforte” album, were written by Hyun Sang himself. IU had heard it, and wanted the song for herself, but the company suggested a duet instead. So here it is. They sound lovely together.
