I too would have been awed by the visuals of Twice. I liked that they gave Jeongyeon time to speak, although I would have wanted more of that but I guess it was more important for her to speak at her comfort level.

the IOI fanboy saying he would convert to a Once next year lol

I really enjoyed watching this. Jihyo was so cute teasing the male student, her catching his awkward glance and realizing his fave group was IOI and said she should’ve invited Sejeong was so cute. Her teasing him at the end that he’s growing away from Twice and him pinky swearing he’s now a Once is adorable too. I got strong older sister energy from her there but that’s her persona in general.

Jeongyeon opening up was really appreciated. From finding herself with growing out her hair as the tomboy image she had previously chosen for her was affecting how she viewed herself. I love her hair either way, I just want her to feel comfortable. Then opening up about how her injury really affected her and she felt like she was on the debut stage all over again with Alcohol Free, it must’ve been scary but I’m glad she felt the natural ease of performing coming back to her which you can see especially in today’s performance. When she said she let herself go regarding her appearance and the student told her how many view her beautiful as always, my heart 🥺🥺🥺 I think Jeongyeon really needed to hear that.
Also I’ve come to resent More&More’s choreography even though I like watching them perform it. Knowing how strenuous on the girls and it ultimately impacted Jeongyeon’s life negatively as it played a part in her getting injured, the harder choreography wasn’t worth the risk.

Overall I think it was wise to have casual fans part of this though having one Once would’ve been nice lol. It’s very cool to see the impact they had one these students lives, they have so many memories tied to Twice even though they aren’t big fans. I also think it really reflects the kpop scene there — it is for kids and teens overall and when they grow up they move on. You can see the students knew their older songs much more but now that they’re focusing on school and future career, they started drifting which is natural. I noticed they brought up how Twice was very popular “back then” meaning casual fans either grew out of it or moved on. For a lot of us international fans we found kpop out of school and it’s moreso just aging out in general (well past the fans locally lol), but I’m sure the same experience applies to some young fans here too. The young kpop fans are going to be more interested in 4th gen and onward. But it’s impressive that even losing casual fans they’ve garnered new loyal fans the last few years. I think that’s why if Twice pursues a longer career, to prioritize their older fans that quite dedicated now vs chasing that young fanbase. They’re doing a great job with the b-sides but can be reflected even more in their titles imo. But I’m a big fan and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed their journey 🥲

Finally Tzuyu’s “YG???” was hilarious. JYP doesn’t shove his name down our throats so many times for us to forget it 😩

I also noticed how much they said "popular back then"

I think you make a lot of salient points.

Wow it makes me sad to think of Twice ending. They are the first group I watched from pre debut and I've always checked out all their title tracks.

Twice is in a pretty unique situation that I don’t see often in kpop? They’re growing internationally, with album sales surging thanks to international fans and The Feels has been in top 50 for Global charting on Spotify for quite awhile now which is pretty cool! But their Korean audience is declining. Last edit lol sorry! Should also add the Dome venue they have for their concert their decline doesn’t take away that they’re still a popular group for sure. Just things are changing and we can see that with Scientist.

So it’s a matter of how the girls and JYPE want to go forward. They can definitely extend their career especially with more mature music if they focus on international market more (should clarify that doesn’t mean jumping right to sexy, mature is pretty broad term) But if they are prioritizing Korea and they see their fame has peaked there, they might view it as time to wrap it up and move on. Plus even outside of this situation, the girls might want to venture into new journeys outside of being an idol. So I’m not sure how it could go.

I’ll definitely be sad, this group is the one I fell hard for. It’s funny, all these groups I adored during gen 2 but it was Twice that finally got me into buying merchandise and considering going to concerts. They’ve also helped me during hard times so I’ll always appreciate them. Knowing they have a good bond helps!

Just thinking, I've seen Sunmi and Got7 in concert, so if I went to see Twice, that would be another JYP group/idol

I think I wouldn't have gone to see them early years but, I really like a lot of their later songs. Feel Special, Love Foolish, I can't stop me and quite a few from that album, plus a few from latest album I really like, and even the early stuff that I wasn't sure about I now have a bit of nostalgia for.

So if they did a world tour and came to Europe I would definitely see if I could make it

I really enjoyed it, I like that the kids got to talk about themselves and their memories and much as Twice got to talk about their feelings

It's just so sad to me how these girls who are still in their early-mid twenties are treated like their best days are behind them ☹️.

I know what you mean but idk if it’s that simple. Kpop lifespans almost always burn fast and short and most popular groups will peak earlier. And it does suck that ggs have shorter shelf lives but Twice has been extremely successful from a gp perspective. Every career has a high point and will naturally come down from there, no one stays on top forever. They’re aging gracefully, which IA feels really weird to say when they’re so young but that’s what happens when your supernova of a career gets started when you're 16 yo -_-

And 'best days' is relative, this is just their idol job. They’ve got the whole rest of their lives ahead of them in all other aspects (and more than enough money to do whatever they want with it lol)

Yeah! Especially when Twice themselves (during their “peak”) have always been adamant that their popularity won’t last forever and that they’re just grateful for whatever it is they have now. I see fans apologising for them not winning awards or breaking records and whatnot, and while I understand, I just feel like that would make the girls feel bad even though they shouldn’t? Like,,, why are they making the girls feel more pressure to maintain an almost impossible level of popularity?

Aww I’m not a twice fan but I love these videos, they’re always fun and poignant. This was a good testament to how dominant Twice was in the mainstream, even kids who aren't fans have memories of growing up with them throughout their lives

I really liked this video. The review of their career and the teens life as the same time was a great idea.

I do agree that all the "back then" comments were really strange. I want TWICE to continue as long as they want to since I think of all the GGs, they've been super consistent with giving catchy songs. I was a casual fan for the first few releases, but became more a more hardcore fan in 2018ish, so I just think they have gotten better as time has gone on.

They really are one of the hardworking groups out there. This was only covering their korean releases and thinking about how they have 2-3 japanese releases each year in all this is crazy.

Thank you Jihyo for being on Team Dance the Night Away!!!

This was a really nice look at their careers. I can remember pretty vividly what was happening in my life when most of these videos came out.

Same. A lot of their earlier stuff coincided with my late high school years and then my uni years, so I really do get that sense that I grew up alongside Twice.

Wow, going through this timeline of their career is crazy. It’s also nice seeing the students lives change over the years as well. I could really relate to them, especially when the girl said friends became even more important that her family. That pressure to maintain friendships was all-consuming during my school years. I also came to the same realisation that friends weren’t the world and that I could do things on my own. Sorry for the oversharing but this video was so so nice. It was like a warm cup of coffee, and coffee always makes me feel like oversharing LOL.

I enjoyed seeing the growth of Twice along side how each of the kids or should I say (young adults) were growing up right along side of each song. It was a nice way to see how each song was at which part of their life. They really did grow up along with Twice.

The boy wih Jihyo made me smile that he was an IOI fan and they way she joke with him was fun. Also smiled at the end when he said he was going to become a Once.

The one girl I am not sure how much of a fan she was but she knew all of their dances and it was fun watching her!

The one with Jeongyeon was sweet and I am glad that she tried to make Jeongyeon feel good.

The one that mentioned she felt like she needed friends and later realized that friends weren't everything she could do things on her own. I really believe that is part of growing up. In elementary school you seem to become friends with everyone, by middle and High school you have a select group of friends and you are with them all the time. By college age everyone starts going their separate ways and you realize you have to do things on your own. Not sure about everyone else but because I am old the next phase is getting closer to family as you start creating your own.
