IU to hold concerts next month

Singer-songwriter IU is set to return to the stage next month.

Known for her girl-next-door image, the musician will be holding a solo year-end concert at Olympic Park’s SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Bangi-dong, Seoul from Dec. 3-4. “The upcoming concert is an opportunity to look back on the past 24 years of IU’s life,” according to the artist’s agency Fave Entertainment on Thursday. “She will also be performing never-before-heard tracks.”

Although she has held concerts abroad in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong in recent months, this will be her first solo performance in Korea since her nationwide tour last year. Focusing on building her acting career, IU appeared in the lead role in hit drama series “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” which aired its final episode Tuesday.

IU, who made her debut with the single “Lost Child” in 2008, most recently released her seventh EP “Chat-Shire” last year.

Popular webtoon comes to life in web-based TV series

An aspiring cartoonist will tell the story of his ridiculous but warmhearted family in "The Sound of Your Heart," a new series based on the eponymous webtoon, the drama's producer and actors said Thursday.

The comedy revolves around Jo Seok (Lee Kwang-soo), a simple-minded and spontaneous cartoonist, as he depicts the everyday lives of his family and friends in drawings. In the family there are the elder brother and father who act about half their ages and the mother with total control of the household. Then there is Ae-bong (Jung So-min), Jo's female friend, who begins to have a growing presence in his life.

The mics in the performance were terrible.
I'd been waiting a while cuz clips were being subbed here and there so I didn't know if a lot were missing. I think these are it though.

Gary's Final RM episode to have a special theme

On October 6, a broadcasting industry source reported that SBS’s “Running Man” is planning an epic episode for Gary’s departure.

“All the members have been together since the first year, but now one is leaving,” the source said. “Rather than inviting a guest who may not feel the event as strongly, it will be a time for just the members to be together. Since it is impossible to make a clean break with a long-time member like Gary, the missions for the final episode will be as messy and difficult as our feelings. Therefore, the episode is called ‘The Messy Special.'”

In the seven years that Gary has been on the show, “Running Man” has calculated that the members have run a total combined distance of 77,000 km (almost 48,000 miles). Many of Gary’s missions on his final episode will be related to the number “77,000,” while the other members will prepare a surprise for Gary with each mission.

The source said, “We cannot reveal exact details, but it was our first time seeing Gary cry like that.”

"The Legend of the Blue Sea" Third Teaser and Stills

The beginning of the trailer starts like a sageuk and shows Lee Min Ho as Dam Ryung, a solemn governor. But the serious mood quickly fades to a close up of the mermaid, who asks, “So, what’s a wife?” (she uses the English word for ‘wife’), causing Joon Jae to grab his hair in frustration.

The teaser then cuts to Joon Jae displaying his various conman skills as a voice-over says, “You’re like the Harry Potter of the con artist world.” Joon Jae is also seen trying to use hypnosis to get a man to put down his gun. The man, who is unfazed by his actions, responds, “Do you want to die?” to which Joon Jae quickly bows and says, “Yes, teacher. I’m sorry, you must have been very surprised.”

“The Legend of the Blue Sea” airs its first episode on November 16, 10 p.m. KST.
