Oh my goodness. I always get so scared when I see idols literally collapsing from exhaustion. I hope she gets lots of rest and that her company takes all of their health into consideration. I've realized with these new groups they have all been non stop with promoting. I would need caffeine injected into me with an IV to keep going. I knew Umji was out on rest but what happened?

i think it has more to do with korea's filming culture. korean idols talked about how japanese variety shows and mvs take a relatively short time to shoot compared to korean variety shows and mvs

From what I've seen so far in terms of Japanese shows, filming takes less time to shoot and some studios automatically turn off the light by midnight. Minors only work certain hours a week and cannot work after 9 PM. They are definitely looking out for the well-being aspect.

i've been on a few shows in korea and the process is painfully slow with delays for EVERYTHING. like 11+ hours to film an hour long show...

Yep. In one of their Got2Day videos recently, Jackson spoke about a time when he was getting IVs before going to work. He mentioned it so naturally as well, like it wasn't a huge deal although he talked about how unhealthy it was, it was heartbreaking. :(

Not just idols either. I've seen lots of posts from my friends and heard stories from others about going to a hospital to get IVs. It's sad people push themselves (or are forced to) like this.

overworking an idol is already bad but when they're a teenager still growing and developing it's too much. i guess technically she's an adult now but they still need better labor laws in korea. a strike that has a bunch of well known idols with status participating, heck even all the camera crew and other staff that get overworked, would be great but it's probably wishful thinking...

Sadly Umji isn't that important member, so she can sit out promotiosn and make company look good, but Sinb or Yuju or Yerin are too popular to be missed in performance, so there is no chance in hell that company let them rest and miss anything.

I don't understand why companies can't plan more sleeping time, regular eating, and bloody chairs to sit down for this kind of performance. They already have Umji on a break, SinB was injured during Navillera's promos but barely missed anything, and now she's collapsing on stage and they'll probably send her back on fan events like nothing happened.
They all need a break, they've been promoting and filming variety non stop since Navillera...

Literally watching them getting hurt and sick on stage is too much. they have been promoting non stop this year, since rough, they have events everyday, sometimes 3 in just one day/night. I know they are from a small company, and the only one bringing the money but they need to sleep and eat well. :(
