That's crazy, I can't believe they're still going to make her work. Watching the clip made me feel so uncomfortable she was clearly not healthy at all. I hope her health doesn't get any worse :/.

On another note why did they let umji rest, but not sinb? I find that a bit odd.

Umji's was already hurt for a week (that we know of) before they let her rest, she couldn't walk with her left leg anymore and after they went to the hospital, they said if she didn't stop right now and do the treatment the injury would get worse. But for at least 1 week she was promoting with the injury. there's a video of her performing on a live broadcast where you can see she was not well.

now I'm waiting to see what source music is really gonna do, today gfriend have 1 event and I want to know what is sinb's condition for real.

Oh I see. I'm glad they let her stopped, but the fact that they let her continue performing with that serious of an injury speaks volumes about the agency.

I really hope they let sinb sit out the event her health is waaaaaay more important, but unfortunately I doubt that's going to happen according to source music's trash of a statement...

yeah that clip is just awful. I don't know if she actually lost consciousness, but her arms and legs definitely went numb, her arms were slack when they picked her up off the floor, ugh. There's nothing normal about that, and prolonged sleep deprivation is incredibly dangerous :/

Honestly it was really scary to watch. Like you can see her body giving up and she was still trying to get through the performance. I really hope her and the rest of the girls are able to get some rest soon. The lifestyle their living, albeit "normal" in the idol world, is just so dangerous.

yeah, it was disturbing. at the risk of sounding oversensitive I think maybe a trigger warning for that clip wouldn't be a bad idea...If you've been in that situation of trying to keep it together in public while your vision is going dark and your limbs are getting numb you know how terrible that feels. I got really uncomfortable watching it, too, and now I keep remembering it and cringing.

it's like now that GFriend have made it big they're flogging them even harder than before. lbr, that's exactly why they're pulling this and it's so many levels of disturbing / disappointing. what's even worse is that it's not something specific to just source: other companies have pulled it as well, and they'll keep on doing it in the future.

like i get that they want to keep g-friend's momentum going / they need to keep them in the limelight given how saturated the idol industry is now, but they haven't gotten a single moment of rest all year (and barely any in general since mgt blew up last year). and things only get worse if you keep them going without rest. i feel so bad for them.

but they are not fully doing lipsync tho. they use a backtrack at these events (like a lot of other groups) but you can hear both the backing track and their live singing, it just depends on the fancam. in some of the songs they cover umji's part (she is taking a rest because of her injured leg) and you can hear the backing track with umji's voice and the voice of the person who is covering her part, usually yuju or sinb. that's why in the fancam going around sinb fell but you still hear umji's voice. and about yuju maybe she doesn't do the high notes in every event (they have 2 or 3 on de same day, she better take care of her voice), but she still sings, on another fancam of this incident, after sinb fell, yuju tried to sing, but she was crying and you can hear it alongside the backing track.

sorry for the long reply, it's just that a lot of people are using this to say they lipsync, when the truth is at these kind of events (university, etc) they sing with the backing track (and in some of the events the backtrack is louder than others events, it just depends of the organizer and the audio quality they have at the event), a lot of these people don't even know sinb was supposed to cover umji's part and what they hear it's umji's voice. also, the fans want them to keep umji's voice there, we don't want them to take out her voice, like she isn't on the group.

In no way am I saying Source Music should get off the hook bc SinB should not be promoting, but I thought the twitter user might not have correctly translated/clarified the sitting down part. I looked up and read an article with the company's statement, and as I thought, the wording they used was "주저 앉았다". I would more correctly translate their statement as:

"Even before SinB went on stage she did not look well. In the end, while on stage she suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed. Afterwards, she went to the hospital where it was determined that nothing was wrong in particular. Currently she has recovered her health. There will be no changes in carrying out the schedule."

Collapsed may be a tad strong of a translation, but the gist is that you are falling into a sitting position because you have no strength in your legs. I couldn't find a better translation that would convey this in one word. Source Music definitely wasn't implying that she decided to have a sit just for the heck of it. Again, by no means am I saying they are going about this the right way - it is very likely they are downplaying exhaustion, and fans are right to call them out on it. I just don't think the translation correctly conveyed the message and hopefully this clears things up a bit for non korean-speaking fans.

I don't know how much I trust that the doctor saw nothing wrong. And even it is just exhaustion it could lead to serious health problems in the future, so it's better to let her rest now. Maybe angry fans and the fact that this is trending on portal sites will convince them to let sinb rest
