Wonder Girls’ Sunye Plans on Going to Haiti as a Missionary

After getting married through faith, Wonder Girls’ Sunye has paused her career to focus on her family. But now it’s become known that she might have plans to move to Haiti to become a missionary.

An old tweet by broadcaster Lee Mina on June 20 has been attracting attention. She tweeted, “I finally met Wonder Girls’ Sunye. She visited Spa The El with Byul. It was our first meeting, but we had a good time, even losing track of time talking about our faith and the grace of God.”

The tweet continues, “Six months after giving birth, she said she’s going to Haiti as a missionary. So beautiful to see her being careful with each action to not steal the spotlight from God. So beautiful to see her being thankful to be even going out on missions. She had so much humility and gentleness that her entire being was beautiful. I was quite surprised to see that the love of the cross was this big.”

Netizens were quite surprised with the news, but sent her good wishes, saying, “I hope you decide carefully. Be happy wherever you go,” “I guess it’ll be hard to see her as a singer again,” “I’m a bit sad,” and “Hope she gives birth safely.”

After meeting him on a mission trip in Haiti, Sunye married James Park in January and is currently pregnant with their first child.

AOA Black to return this month

AOA will be returning to fans first in the form of AOA Black this summer, or to be more specific, this month!

If you weren't already aware, AOA consists of two units with AOA Black being their 'band unit' made up of 5 members, Jimin, ChoA, Yuna, Yookyung, and Mina. This unit will do what they do best by rocking it out as they're said to be getting ready to grace the domestic stages again on the 26th.

In the meantime, AOA as a whole will be holding their Japanese showcase at Shibuya AX in Tokyo on the 23rd.

I'm going to explain in detail how to get to each of the 4 main music shows (M!Net’s M!Countdown, KBS’s Music Bank, MBC’s Music Core and SBS’s Inkigayo). This does not account for ‘special’ episodes (sometimes the location or amount of fanseats changes) or explain specifically what you need for each group.

Biggest point to all of this: Get on the group you want to see’s fancafe, level up and get your more specific information there.

Dal Shabet again forced to change "Be Ambitious"

Dal Shabet, who created a buzz with their “Marilyn Monroe” move in the “Look At My Legs” choreography, will be modifying the dance for performances on the networks KBS, SBS, and MBC.

Dal Shabet decided to follow the request of the KBS’ “Music Bank” production team and audience, and revise the dance for “Look At My Legs.” A source from Dal Shabet’s agency stated that the group was looking to give a change to the choreography and performance of the song anyway, so along with this input, they decided to modify the dance, as well as the outfit.

The “Marilyn Monroe” choreography point seems to be the move in question for the song, as the members pull open the top skirt layer of their outfit to reveal shorts underneath. It’s been called the “Marilyn Monroe” dance due to its inspiration from the famous scene from the movie “The Seven Year Itch” in which Marilyn Monroe’s skirt is blown upwards from the wind from a passing subway train.

Dal Shabet will perform the modified choreography for MBC’s “Music Core” and SBS’ “Inkigayo,” but will continue to show the “Marilyn Monroe” dance on cable channel music shows.

Researcher Shin Junghyun reported that, "The amount of sales and money brought in by YG for the first 6 months of this year have increased by both 23% and 25% more in each area than the amount they made during the same time last year, recording 280 billion won (roughly 28 billion USD) and 51 bilion won (roughly 5 billion USD)," and that, "The promotions of signed artists under the company can be put in the limelight with anticipation".

CCM announced changes for T-ara, 5dolls, THE SEEYA & SPEED

It was announced today that T-ara, 5dolls, THE SEEYA and SPEED will all have member changes.
These groups are all part of Core Contents Media, and they revealed today they will also have changes before their comebacks. 5dolls will comeback before for end of July with two new members, T-ara will promote as six, and SPEED will have two new members.

5dolls and it’s existing members Hyoyoung, Hyewon and Eunkyo were joined by Nayeon last year in February. Shannon and Jihyun later joined them to promote as six for their comeback, but now Shannon and Jihyun have left the group.

Shannon proposed to the agency CEO that she wants to be like her role model, BoA, and become a solo. She and the agency agreed that she will prepare for one or two more years and then debut as a soloist. Jihyun will continue practicing and debut with another group.

Korean-American band Royal Pirates will be making its Korean debut!

They announced on their official Facebook, "Royal Pirates have their official Korean debut ahead of them in 2013. Please give a lot of support!"

Previously known as Fading from Dawn, the band has been active in Southern California since 2004. After the tragic loss of their bassist in 2008, Moonchul Kim, Sooyoon Kim, and James Lee became the Royal Pirates and quickly gained fame for their covers on YouTube.

SHINee's Key revealed Jonghyun's rather strange sleeping habits.

Since the SHINee members are always busy with promotions, it's very understandable that they try to get as much sleep whenever possible. It looks like Jonghyun found a comfortable place to sleep in a strange position - stuffed under the counter in their waiting room.

Key didn't pass up the chance to joke around, as he posed like a hilarious bodyguard in front of Jonghyun's sleeping form. He uploaded the photos onto his Instagram and wrote, "no one can wake him up".

2NE1 has been considered ‘different’ from the moment they debuted in 2009. They weren’t sexy or cute like other girl groups. And one of their strengths was that they could pull off the ‘style’ of Hip-hop. There is nobody you can compare them to in Korea. They may briefly remind you of black girl groups like Salt-N-Pepa, En Vogue, or TLC but there is something that is still different about 2NE1. So what it is? Their style? Fashion? Music? Or boldness? One thing for sure is that they have become a group that is like none other – that is ‘special.’ 2NE1, back in the music scene for the first time in almost a year with song “Falling in Love” talked to the media on Tuesday.

Q. This is your first song in a year.
CL: We released “I Love You” a year ago but it’ll be close to the first time in two years that we’re fully resuming our activities. We had craved to go on stage with a new song. While working on our new songs, we said we should try to work as hard as we did before we released “Fire.”
Sandara Park (Sandara): It’s almost feels like we’re debuting again. It’s exciting.
Gong Minzy (Minzy): We’ve waited for a new song as much as our fans have.
Park Bom (Bom): We were craving the stage so much to the point that we had to beg our CEO Yang Hyun-suk. And I’m not usually the begging type (laughs).

[Breaking] Areum is leaving T-ara

Areum, who just joined T-ara last June 2012, has just announced her departure from the group to pursue solo career.

On July 10, Core Contents Media posted a short video through its official Youtube channel showing the youngest member of T-ara, Areum, announcing that she will leave the group to pursue her career as a solo singer.

Areum was added into T-ara in July 2012 as their eighth membe and made her debut through ‘Day by Day’. With members Hwayoung and Areum out of the group, T-ara will be promoting with six original members, Soyeon, Hyomin, Jiyeon, Eunjung, Boram and Qri.

Army Cosplayer Rain discharged from the Military.

Singer and actor Rain has been discharged from military today, July 10 KST, after 21 months of military service.

Rain left the Ministry of National Defense Public Relations Department office in Yongsan, Seoul today at 8AM. There were about 100 members of the press and 700 fans at the location, some fans having waited there since the day before. Rain spoke in front of his fans and the press very briefly for about three minutes, in which the Korean media is interpreting as caution after the recent controversy over the lenient rules of celebrity soldiers.

Gruesome teen's murder horrifies nation

A 19 year old male teen was arrested for murdering a 17 year old female. Police received a report from her parents on the 9th saying they could not reach contact with her. Police narrowed the suspects down to a few until the teen turned himself in on the 10th.

According to investigations, he had called her out to a motel with the intent of raping her. Once she began fighting back, he choked her to death.

He confessed that he decided to cut up her body and leave the motel once he was sure he killed her. He went to a nearby convenience store to buy some knives and came back only to find that they weren't sharp enough to cut through the body. Desperate, he began cutting pieces of her skin off and flushing it down the toilet.

Her face was severely mutilated to the point where the majority of the skin was gone and the bones were broken and separated into 20 different pieces. Police suspect that he went through three knives to achieve this.

He then left the motel in the early morning to purchase plastic bags and checked out with the body parts after a total of 16 hours. He grabbed a cab and went home and left the bags inside a container in front of his home.
