Phantom pre-releases “Seaweed Soup” from their debut album, ‘Phantom City’

In the past, Phantom displayed their more serious, genuine side with “Pretty Enough“, and “Hole In Your Face“. However, the group has just released a more upbeat and sweet track “Seaweed Soup“. This is the first track to be released off of their debut album, ‘Phantom City‘.

The lovely acoustic guitar harmonizes with the keys of the piano in the track, and the sweet melody which makes the song easy to sing along with are the highlights of the track. The song sings of a man who forgets his lover’s birthday, so to make it up to her, he personally cooks her seaweed soup (Miyeok guk, commonly eaten on birthdays in Korea).

The addictive lyrics of the song will be sure to be a big hit with fans of all ages.

JYJ’s Junsu (XIA) releases 1st Asia Tour highlight clip

JYJ‘s Junsu (XIA) has released a highlight clip of his ‘1st Asia Tour‘!

XIA kicked off his solo tour in Seoul, South Korea before moving onto Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, and China. His last stop will be in Hong Kong on August 26th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The successful tour follows the release of his very successful first solo album, ‘Tarantallegra‘. He’s currently preparing a repackaged album, and there are plans for him to continue onto a world tour as well.

SM Entertainment hints at 5-member TVXQ reunion?

Fans have noticed an interesting change on SM Entertainment Japan‘s official website. The profiles of the former members of TVXQ, Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong, have appeared on the group’s section of the site.

After a lawsuit with SM Entertainment, TVXQ was left with two members, Yunho and Changmin. While Yunho and Changmin continued to promote as TVXQ, the other three members have been active under the name JYJ.

Naver, Nate & Daum update ‘TVXQ’ profile as 5 members

Rumors of a possible TVXQ reunion began spreading like wildfire once again, after the profiles of former group members Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong were added onto the group’s section of SM Entertainment Japan‘s official website.

Following this change, popular Korean portal sites Naver, Nate, and Daum have also updated their TVXQ profiles.

Daum and Nate have listed all five names under the group ‘TVXQ (Dong Bang Shin Ki)’. Naver has listed Junsu, Yoochun, Jaejoong, and current member Yunho as ‘former’ members of TVXQ, while Changmin is still listed as a member. Whether or not this is an error has not been confirmed.

The updates of these popular portal sites are only causing fans to become more eager to know what these changes mean, however, as of now there is no official word from SM Entertainment nor the members themselves.

After a lawsuit with SM Entertainment, Yunho and Changmin continued to promote as TVXQ, while the other three members have been active under the name JYJ.

T-Jinyo's boycotts, protests, and petitions continue to fail in the real world

'T-JinYo', who is known to have 340,000 members online, don't seem to work well together offline.

On August 6, the first episode of "Haeundae Lovers" with T-ARA member Soyeon, received a viewer rating of 9.8%. Considering this was their first episode, the ratings were seen as good.

'T-JinYo' planned to ban watching dramas with T-ARA members in it. However, it was harder than they had thought. Due to the positive ratings of the drama, many watched the drama regardless of the ban.

'T-JinYo' had also planned to protest in front of Core Contents Media on August 4. However, they ended up canceling the petition due to their lack of preparation. There were thousands of posts about the protest, but in reality, only about 30 members came out to petition. This is a rather embarrassing number for a group that has over 340,000 members online.

Why is it that the online and offline actions are so different?

An official stated, "It could be because of the fact that they have to show their face when they come offline. Online, anyone can say whatever they want, but when they are revealed in public, it is harder for them to say what they want."

Most of the members of the group are also in their teens, which could also cause problems if they were all to meet offline. Many of the group members ideas and thoughts were different which could have also made it difficult for them to come to a clear consensus.

As the guitar sounds out each note, the bass matches its tone. As the keyboard creates a melody, the song is completed. The place that reminds you of a band’s practice room because of how they entrust their bodies seriously to their respective instruments is the practice scene of Infinite’s seasonal concert, ‘That Year’s Summer’. 

The practice room for their solo concert, ‘That Year’s Summer’, which has a concept of meeting the members of Infinite and going on a summer vacation together for five days, starting from the 8th and going till the 12th. The reporters were met with large laughter that exploded from nearby staff members due to the joke, “Photoshoots are difficult because I’m bare-faced,” which Sungyeol said while widely smiling.

Korean's Fab Five returns with 5th minialbum, "Pandora"

Girl group KARA has revealed the title to their upcoming 5th mini-album.

According to their agency, DSP Media, KARA's 5th mini-album title is called "Pandora." The title track to the album is also said to have the same title, "Pandora," and the album will contain a total of 5 tracks.

The mini-album "Pandora" consists of the work of composers Han Jaeho and Kim Seungsu, and Sweetune as the producer. 

Pandora is the first woman that was created by the gods.

"Pandora" will be a synth-pop dance track in which KARA will showcase their growth and mature charms. 

KARA will release their mini-album, "Pandora," and hold their showcase on August 22nd, along with the title music video. Their showcase is also said to be airing live on Youtube as well.

Earlier this week, a countdown has also been posted on DSP Media's website. What concept will these five charming goddesses show us next?

Yang Hyun Suk criticizes the new MV pre-screening policy implemented by Korea Media Rating Board

CEO Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment, one of the top 3 entertainment agencies in Korea, strongly criticized the new pre-screening and evaluation system implemented by the Korea Media Rating Board for all music videos and footage uploaded online. During a phone conversation with StarNews on August 7th, Yang Hyun Suk remarked, “In the early 90′s, we were often censored for coloring our hair back when I was promoting with Seotaiji & Boys. This new policy implemented by the Korea Media Rating Board reminds me of those days. I experienced ‘mental collapse’ after hearing about the news.”

“Implementing a policy where Music Videos must first be screened before being uploaded online is like splashing cold water over a situation where K-Pop is properly being spread to all the corners of the world,” he continued. “Instead of trying to be of any help in further spreading K-Pop to the world, I don’t understand why they have come up with a policy that only daunts the artists and the producers.”

RaNia comeback in September?

One of K-pop’s sexiest girl groups has been on hiatus for quite a while now, so fans will be happy to hear that RaNia will make their return after being out of sight for over half a year. And while there’s no specific release date for the group’s next mini-album, RaNia’s official fan cafe posted a statement today reporting that RaNia is scheduled for a live Inkigayo appearance on September 2. Since the mid-May, there has been plenty of speculation as to what song RaNia would come back. The ladies appeared at the 2012 Dream Concert on May 12 and performed “Killer,” but it was only recently confirmed by DR Music that the new track would not be their comeback single.

New Boy Group "K-Boys" Releases Their Debut Single

K-Pop is introducing their latest male group, K-Boys! K-Boys released their new single on August 8th, marking their official entry into the music industry. K-Boys is a 5-member male group under NSB Korea made up of rapper Kohyun, vocalist Gwanghun, vocalist Dohyeong, vocalist Jongchan, and vocalist Seongri.

The title track to their debut single is "K-Boys," an upbeat tempo track. The K-Boys' charms and personalities is caught in their 2nd track, "Love."

On August 1st, the dance practice video by K-Boys was also released, revealing the choreography behind their self-named title track.

Junsu to release new English single ‘UNCOMMITTED’

Ahead of his world tour, JYJ‘s Junsu has announced that he’ll be releasing another single instead of a repackaged album featuring a song in English!

Titled ‘UNCOMMITTED‘, the single will be a special release for his North and South American and European tour featuring the work of Sony Music composer Bruce Automatic Vanderveer. The single will also include an English version of his solo album title track, “Tarantallegra“.

C-JeS Entertainment stated, “His first solo album, ‘Tarantallegra’, was a display of his individual musical and performance style. This single aims to show another side to him as a vocalist. As it is an English song, we are anticipating the reactions of his fans worldwide.”

The single will be pre-released digitally along with its music video on the third week of August followed by an offline release on August 23rd. Pre-orders will begin starting on the 10th.

In related news, Junsu will be wrapping up his Asia tour in Hong Kong on the 26th, followed by the launching of his world tour starting with New York on the 30th.
