Crystal of "As One" to marry this September

Crystal of duo As One will be getting married this September.

As One’s agency stated on May 15th, “Crystal will be getting married to Jo Mo, who is two years older, on September 16th at Coex in Seoul’s Kangnam area. Jo Mo worked as As One’s manager 10 years ago, and his relationship with Crystal grew into something more. They’ve decided to get married after 10 years of dating.”

Crystal’s fiance is reported to be currently working as a manager under the agency Jay One Plus, which represents talents such as Han Ga In, Hwang Woo Seul Hae, Moon Jung Hee and more.

The singer revealed on SBS Radio Power‘s ‘Jung Sun Hee’s A Night Like Tonight‘, “I have a boyfriend, and we’ll have dated for 10 years next year.”

As One debuted with “Day by Day” in 1999, and will be making a comeback with a remake of the track on May 27th.

Singer Lee Hyo Ri’s essay book is coming.

On May 24, Lee will release a book, titled Closer: "The Story Starting with Hyo Ri and Soon Shim."

The book has Lee’s essays about Lee’s daily life with her companion dog Soon Shim and four companion dogs along with her histories to be actively involved in a campaign for animal rights up until now.

Lee tells her candid thoughts on companions she has met during her life from the past when she was the youngest daughter of a barber to her success as a super star. The K-pop diva also talks about the changes she went through—to become a leader for a campaign for animal rights and to become a vegetarian. The socialtainer gives a speech on a better life for everyone.

Lee also brings up issues, including factory farming of animals, ill conditions of houses for abandoned dogs, boycotts to animal fur coats and others and she gives the contemporaries the topics to think about. The book includes photos taken by Lee Hyo Ri herself and photographer Kim Tae Eun, known as an animal lover.

“I’m heading for a new path. Some say, ‘Life is harsh even for human beings. How come we’re supposed to take care of animals when there are people starving out there.’ However, I think animals are weaker than human beings. They can’t take care of themselves if we don’t take care of them. That’s why they need someone to represent them, and that’s what made me involved.”

The book will be out on May 24.

Jewelry will return this summer

Quartet girl group Jewelry, will return to performing this summer.

The group will release their new album, which includes exciting dance music, in July. It has been about a year since their last album Pass was released in June of 2011.

On May 15, Jewelry’s agency, Star Empire, said, “The group is currently working hard on their new album with popular songwriter Duble Side Kick. The concept for their new album is sexy and bubbly.”

Jewelry is ready to impress their fans through the album. After Park Jung Ah and Seo In Young left the group, Park Se Mi and Kim Ye Won were selected as new group members. They are planning to show off their talented skills.

Jewelry will also attend the first family concert in China with singers from the agency, including ZE:A and Nine Muses. Star Empire will hold their first family concert for the first time in 12 years of their establishment.

The agency planed to hold the family concert because they decided to make this the year for their overseas expansion. Jewelry debuted in Japan in early 2000 before K-pop fever exploded. They will meet their foreign fans for the first time with the new group members.

Singers, including Jewelry, from the agency will tour Japan and Korea to hold concerts after their Chinese concert.

Domestic abuse rates soar

Domestic violence poses a serious threat to families. The threat is insidious because it originates within the family unit and households plagued by domestic violence are no longer unfamiliar to Koreans. According to the Supreme Court Sunday, the number of cases filed with authorities nationwide to protect family members soared by 50.5 percent from 3,132 in 2008 to 4,714 in 2009. Since then, more than 3,000 cases have been reported each year. More than 20 percent of complaints filed with the Family Court are related to violence involving parents against children, but few are properly investigated, sources at the court said. Some shocking examples do surface, but penalties are not always effective in deterring further incidents of abuse.

Two pictures of Hyoyeon were recently uploaded on an online community board under the title of “Hyoyeon looks like this if you see her for real.”

Big Bang confirms Indonesia and Taiwan as stops for ‘Alive Tour 2012′

Big Bang has confirmed two more locations for their concert ‘Alive Tour 2012‘, which will have stops in a total of 25 cities and 16 countries in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe.

An updated list cementing Indonesia and Taiwan as tour locations was just posted on Big Bang’s official Facebook. This leaves only 3 more countries in Asia to be revealed, while ‘Alive Tour 2012′ locations in North America, South America, and Europe have yet to be confirmed.

ZE:A to return in June with a full length album!

ZE:A is set to make their comeback with the release of a new album next month. Star Empire Entertainment confirmed today that the group is currently in the polishing stages of recording and will release their second full length album by June.

It was also revealed that ZE:A will be coming back with a new concept which will be different to their previous promotions. They are also scheduled for a showcase to celebrate the release of their new album. Details of the date and venue are currently being discussed.

ZE:A's last album was "Exciting!" which was released in July last year from which they promoted title tracks "Watch Out" and "Heart for 2." Recently, the group has been busy with their overseas activities while some members were focusing on respective solo activities.

BtoB gives their fanclub the best name in recent memory

Rookie boy group BtoB has finally come to an agreement on their fanclub name! The group alerted their fans through a post via Facebook along with a special Youtube video message.

They announced, “Guess what BTOB Fans? BTOB’s Official Fanclub name has been decided! From now on, you will all be called ‘Melody’ and here’s a special video message from BTOB!”

Upon hearing the news, fans rushed to comment, “I love the name!“, “Proud to be a Melody“, “What a unique name“, and more.

BtoB made a successful debut on March 21st with their title tracks “Insane” and “Imagine“. The group has proven their amazing vocal skills and ability to pull off captivating performances through their debut stages.

FNC Entertainment To Debut Juniel In Korea This June

FNC Entertainment announced on May 15th that their rookie artist, Juniel, will be debuting in June. The first album jacket photo was also revealed, featuring the singer in a neat white dress with her eyes closed.

As previously reported, CNBLUE’s Yonghwa participated in the production of solo artist Juniel’s debut song. A scene from the singer’s production process was revealed earlier on an episode of MBC’s “K-pop Stars Captivating The World,” and CNBLUE’s Yonghwa could be seen offering advice and suggestions to the young singer.

Juniel has been promoting as a singer in Japan, releasing two mini albums and two singles in the past years. She was mainly active in the indie scene, though her two last singles were released under major record label Warner Music where labelmates FT Island and CNBLUE are also signed.

Because they 'ain't like any other guys,' Big Bang sang in their song that ‘a girl who met the bad boys was in pain.’ However, because they were different from a slew of other idol groups, they became a ‘good’ group. A rapper does not break dance or the whole team does not move in perfect order like soldiers but the people remember their songs and wait for their next performance. What is more important for Big Bang than winning others is doing what they like, which is probably why they were able to realize the world they were dreaming. This doesn’t apply just to music. During the interview, the boys did not exaggerate their words when answering questions or tried to figure out what kind of answers would bring them more popularity. They were forthright in telling stories they wanted and to tell, and what they have to tell, rather than saying things that would keep up their popularity. Being honest to their feelings in the interview, Big Bang looked so mature and even naive. It is the same for T.O.P, who honestly speaks up about his feelings when he’s going through rough times, which ‘ain’t like any other guys.’ Having given up on his positive attitude, the ‘bad boy’ did not easily spat out that he is doing okay. But T.O.P said there are things he is certain of and has his faith in. This is what makes his words more reliable.

“I wanted to make people think, ‘that’s insane, but dope.’”

You received much spotlight again through the latest album. How does it feel wrapping up the promotion?
T.O.P: Of all releases we had the last seven years, "ALIVE" is the one we cared about the most. We paid extra attention to make sure that every little detail is near perfect, so it was probably the toughest one to prepare since our debut. We had problems, both physically and mentally, in the process.

Group Dalmatian returns after turning over a new leaf.

After the release of their mini album last February and their title song “The Man Opposed,” on the 16th, Dalmatian will be challenging the music industry with their second mini album “State of Emergency.” After a hiatus of a year and three months, the members look different just from their outer appearances. With the move of their dorms to the mountains in Haengjoo, they’ve been focusing solely on music and working out.

“Before this comeback, you can say that we had bodies of a young lamb and now we’ve returned with beastly built bodies. In seeing the transformation of our figures among one another, it drove us with motivation which soon became a rivalry. It wasn’t intended, but we feel that we went to hell training.” (Inati)

The tattoos on their bodies with their tops off emphasized the masculinity in their music video. Their abs on their bodies give off the scent of masculinity and what’s more different than their bodies are their gazes. Having been separated from society, they’ve poured themselves into their music and their performances.

DALMATIAN WANTS TO PERFORM ON ''IMMORTAL SONG 2''

Male group Dalmatian sends their love calls to “Immortal Song 2.”

In a recent interview with Sports Seoul, Dalmatian said they had desires to make an appearance on the show KBS 2TV “Free Saturday – Immortal Song 2: Singing the Legend.” Especially the new member Simon said, “If I ever receive an offer to appear on the show, I’ll for sure take it.”

He continued by saying, “I believe it’s an important experience to stand on a stage like Immortal Song 2 (IS2 for short). To sing in front of the public with the song of our seniors, there’s no other chance for an artist to have that ever again” and “Even if it’s the other members that gets casted into the show, I’ll do what’s best of my capability to help.”

Adding onto his word was Dalmatian’s main vocalist Jeesu, who said, “I think if a lucky opportunity to appear on “IS2” is handed to me, then there’s no reason for me to reject that offer” and “Whether it’s appearing on the show solo or as a team, no matter what form the appearance on the show is made as, we’ll for sure show the true side of Dalmatian in arming up.”

“Immortal Song 2” is a program in which newer artists showcase their musical capabilities by performing songs of their seniors into their own unique way, a stage which spotlights “artists who have great vocals.” Dalmatian showed their greed in wanting to appear on the show as they also showcase strong confidence in their vocals as well.

Meanwhile, Dalmatian’s second mini album “State of Emergency” is set to release on the 16th as they’re greeting their fans after a year and three months. With Day Day leaving the group and Dari enlisted in the army, Simon joined as a new member in promising to show an elevated image of Dalmatian.

Their title song “E.R” was produced by producing team Double Sidekick, who helped Dalmatian escape their cute image in showing their masculinity, something that couldn’t have been seen before as they’re ready to deliver a whole new level of fun with their unique choreography as well.
