2012-05-15 06:50 amsayufied.livejournal.comEver since Girls’ Generation‘s Jessica threw the opening pitch for the LG Twins vs. Samsung Lionsgame, her video clip has spread over the web with various popular sports blogs even dedicating entries on her throw. American entertainment and sports channel ESPN has caught on, and surprised K-Pop fans as they recently aired a birthday shoutout to the singer.
The singer was briefly mentioned on the May 14th edition of ESPN’s ‘Pardon the Interruption‘, a sports talk show that discusses sports and headlining issues.
Although Jessica’s birthday was on the 18th of last month, the show wished her a happy belated birthday along with the embarrassing yet adorable clip of her throwing the opening pitch for the baseball match that had taken place on May 11th.

This episode’s protagonist is B.A.P’s Daehyun, who has stepped forth into the music industry with his strong charisma as he’s in charge of “innocence” in the group.
And in putting aside his memories of Kwangju, Daehyun moved to Busan. However, he had a hard time adjusting to his school life in Kyungsang-do due to the rough speaking of his friends from the new area.
“At the time, there were rumors that if you used Jeonra-do saturi, you’d get hit and I entered my first day of school with a strong impression by dying my hair also. Seeing the Busan kids talk, I was a bit scared (laughs). At first, I had worries of if I’d fit in but after time passing by, my inner jokester side came out and I spent a fun time with my peers.”

Because their popularity and fame was at the peak last year, all the small and big events that Big Bang has gone through during that period were even more harsh to the members. After a long period of self-reflection and shaking things up a bit, Big Bang rolled out a new album that was titled "ALIVE." What was more welcomed by their fans than the successful outcome of their release -- such as surprising records on music charts, earning prizes at international awards and various news on their promotional activities -- was probably the fact that Big Bang came back 'alive.' Instead of lining out everything they have gone through the lyrics, they signaled that they are at the beginning of a new start by saying, "Winter passes when spring comes." "BLUE" is a calming song but it made louder noises than any other songs to alert their return. 10Asia interviewed Seungri, who has brought spring into Big Bang's life. His survival tactic in the past seven years as a celebrity -- keeping himself alive and develop even under the pressure that was like an icy water last winter -- was honest and forthright but it was surprising at the same time.

Seungri: It might not be as bad as you imagine it'd be. It's sort of like our image to look busy (laugh). Actually, we had a lot of pressure on us with everything we had gone through recently. The TV shows that we could appear on were limited and had to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders with our fans' expectations. So we focused on showing that we're still alive and well. I tried to show the serious side of myself than perky images I have shown in the past. Part of the reason was to be recognized and get credit from other members.

It's such a pity SeungRi's mini album didn't do that well 'cause it was one of the best things to come out last year (much better than Big Bang's Tonight) and that he feels like he needs to wait for a long time before releasing another because that.

SHINee could be making a guest appearance on an upcoming broadcast of jTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast.
On May 15th, SNS users began sharing the above photo of the two idol groups together in a gymnasium. Eagle-eyed netizens took note of the familiar logo in the back, and rumors of SHINee making a guest appearance on an episode of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ began spreading rapidly. In the photo, both SHINee and Shinhwa are wearing jerseys that represented the colors of their respective fan clubs, and it appeared as though the two groups were preparing to play a game of badminton.

Group Big Bang member T.O.P was voted as the “Ultimate Action Hero.’
Director Mabrouk El Mechri‘s new movie ‘The Cold Light of Day’ conducted an online survey from the 9th asking, “In the movie the protagonist played by Henry Cavill gets entangled in a dangerous situation. Which idol is most likely to jump into action when situation gets dire as it did for our protagonist?”
The survey showed a lopsided victory for T.O.P receiving 67% of the votes. T.O.P has shown powerful dances and raps on all the albums he released in his career as a singer. As actor he played an assassin in the drama ‘Iris’ and in the movie ’71: Into the Fire’ he played a student solider who was a squad leader. He has made a career out of his charisma.
The second place in the survey was taken by 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon and Jung Jinwoon of 2AM finished at #3.

Asides from all the usual parades, mass games and rockets that we and the Korean media concentrate on, there are still some normal things going on North of the koreaBANG iron curtain and, just because the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – North Korea) is isolated from the rest of East Asia, doesn’t mean that people there still don’t like to kick back with a bit of manga, or rather manhwa [만화] every now and then (actually, rather than use the term “manhwa” most comic books coming out of Pyongyang are called “gurimchaek” [그림책 lit. "picture book"]).
