Group Dalmatian returns after turning over a new leaf.

After the release of their mini album last February and their title song “The Man Opposed,” on the 16th, Dalmatian will be challenging the music industry with their second mini album “State of Emergency.” After a hiatus of a year and three months, the members look different just from their outer appearances. With the move of their dorms to the mountains in Haengjoo, they’ve been focusing solely on music and working out.

“Before this comeback, you can say that we had bodies of a young lamb and now we’ve returned with beastly built bodies. In seeing the transformation of our figures among one another, it drove us with motivation which soon became a rivalry. It wasn’t intended, but we feel that we went to hell training.” (Inati)

The tattoos on their bodies with their tops off emphasized the masculinity in their music video. Their abs on their bodies give off the scent of masculinity and what’s more different than their bodies are their gazes. Having been separated from society, they’ve poured themselves into their music and their performances.

“I felt a surge of urgency towards our performances. Maybe it was because I felt that it was our last chance this time to show ourselves, so that’s why it was an ambiguous yet fearful period of time for me, but I was able to stay strong thanks to our members.” (Daniel)

E.R, which stands for Emergency Room, was the product of producing team Double Sidekick, who have risen quickly as of lately as this was chosen as Dalmatian’s title song. The song speaks of the “urgency” felt when one sends away their loved one, the song starting off with a siren and the line “I’ll be waiting, I’ll be there” is prominent. The members’ masculine transformation suits them well.

“The cute image we tend to give off didn’t really suit well with us. Our normal image is very masculine and we have a few members that are cold. It feels that we found something that we want to do and something that fits with us also.” (Jeesu)

There have also been changes in the team as well. The original member Day Day left due to differences in music style while Dari is currently enlisted in the army. The “hidden card” that fills their gap is Simon, as Simon was born in Seattle and his father is Korean while his mother is Japanese, moving back and forth between Korean and Japan. He had originally geared towards preparing his debut as A-jax in Japan but thanks to a fateful chance, he was able to meet Korean musicians and joined Dalmatian. He, who claimed that he “didn’t need to adjust,” appears to be manly and cold, but holds delicate emotions, determined as the driving force in showing what Dalmatian’s music is all about.

And the members’ confidence is higher than ever as they’ve set their goal of ranking 7th on music charts.

“I want to promise to go to the amusement park with fans all day long.” (Youngwon)

“Don’t we have to at least cross the Han River as some kind of incentive? We’ll for sure succeed.” (Simon)
