f(x)'s Victoria to star in new drama with Calvin Chen and nothing for Sulli, kthxbye

Victoria Song, the Chinese member of Kpop group f(x), will be starring in a new Taiwanese drama with Calvin Chen of Fahrenheit, and Zhou Mi of Super Junior-M. The drama’s tentative name is “失去城堡的王子” (roughly translates to The Prince Who Lost His Castle), which will be distributed by GTV. As many have noticed, there has been an increase number of Korean idols crossing over to star in Taiwanese dramas. Nine years ago, Choo Ja Hyun costarred in a series with Eddie Peng, then followed by Park Eun Hye, Park Shin Hye, SJ members Donghae and Siwon, as well as Park Jung Min and Goo Hye Sun starring in dramas that have not been aired yet (Fondant Garden and Absolute Boyfriend). However, since they can’t speak Mandarin, all of their voices have been dubbed. Thankfully, dubbing won’t be needed for Victoria and Zhou Mi.

Victoria has reportedly arrived on set at Shenzhen China since Tuesday. She plays a long lost granddaughter of a big corporate company, while Calvin and Zhou Mi are candidates to succeed the company. Calvin mentioned about working with Victoria on “Apple Entertainment News” a few days ago. He responded through his manager yesterday that they will begin shooting the drama tomorrow or the day after, so it’s not convenient for him to reveal any further details. GTV confirmed that it will distribute the drama outside of China and will broadcast it in Taiwan when the filming is finished.

As most of you know, Siwan is appearing in a Korean drama. Siwan could not leave Korea because they had to make up for delays brought on by changes in Korean weather. So to catch up for the delays, Siwan had to remain for the catch-up shoots.

Police Steps in Against Hateful Rumors Between B1A4 and Dal★Shabet Fans

Several rumors have been circulating online between fans of B1A4 (called ‘Banas’) and Dal Shabet (known as ‘Darlings’). The severity of the most recent rumors has crossed the line, causing police officials to intervene.

The rivalry between the fandoms can be traced back to “2011 SBS Gayo Daejun," during which B1A4 and Dal Shabet had shared a special stage. But the choreography called for body contact between the members, and it has caused fans to become upset. From this criticism and hate spawned speculative rumors. In one such rumor, a Darling was accused of physically assaulting a Bana. While another claimed Dal Shabet's Serri had blatantly rejected a B1A4 member who extended his hand in a friendly greeting.

The rumors only worsened after the “Idol Star Athletics Championships” took place. The online community boards were swamped as fans posted several claims stating that Darlings had assaulted Banas and had even, allegedly, raped and kidnapped the opposing fans.

The rumors spread like wildfire causing the police to get involved. Police officials revealed to Star News, “There weren’t any disturbances or crimes committed during the ‘Idol Star Athletic Championships. There was nothing out of the ordinary that occurred, nor were there any reports of such behavior.”

Happy Face Entertainment commented on the matter, “The hateful rumors have caused much pain to the Dal Shabet members. We hope that the spread of these false rumors will end.”

Serri even used Twitter to respond to the rumors, “I am writing to say how deeply upset I am at the horrible rumors being spread about me. Please stop spreading these lies, they are not true. Please stop haunting celebrities with these harmful rumors.”

Dal Shabet and B1A4’s agencies have come to an agreement to not let these rumors affect themselves or their relationship.

Will.I.Am: “2NE1 Is Coming Out Crazy”

We’ve heard for some time already that 2NE1 and Black Eyed Peas’ rapper/producer Will.I.Am are working together for the group’s U.S. debut album. So far, it has only been reported that they’ve finished producing about 10 tracks in total, but no official word has come out from either party.

On January 7, however, Will.I.Am tweeted, “2NE1 is coming out crazy,” adding fuel to the burning anticipation. Star News followed up with YG Entertainment to check on their progress, and they heard, “Late last year, Will.I.Am and CL talked about their U.S. album work right after their performance at the 2011 MAMA. Will.I.Am told her he’s really interested in producing some additional tracks and they promised to work more on it.”

It’s still unclear when exactly their collaborative album will be released. But one thing for sure is there is progress and the album may come out sooner than expected.

B2ST fans knit hats and jackets for children in Zambia

Fans of B2ST have banded together to personally knit wool hats and ‘jeogiris (traditional Korean jackets)’ for children in Zambia!

On January 9th, a representative of World Vision revealed that the members of a B2ST fanpage had donated 200 jeogoris as well as 245 hats. Back in 2009, leader Doojoon had visited Zambia and Mumbai with World Vision to volunteer and care for African children. Fans thought to continue his kind efforts by participating in the cause.

The project began in November, and together, the fans made over 400 jeogoris, 200 of which were donated to another infant’s home in Seoul. In the letter that accompanied their donation, the fans wrote, “We know that it’s good to donate with money, but we wanted to create a gift that had our warm hearts melted into them, which is how we came up with this project. We hope that more people will take an interest in volunteering and charity after this project.”

Choi ChangSik, Mayor of Jung-gu had officially presented the certificate of appointment as Honorary Ambassador of the district to YoonA.

Mayor Choi ChangSik said, “The top star (YoonA) who matches well with the central district of Seoul, Jung-gu will serve as the Honorary Ambassador.”

On her appointment, YoonA commented, “Together with Girls’ Generation members, I hope to visit the ‘Street of Hallyu Stars’ of Jung-gu.” She continued, “In the future, I will work hard to promote the beauty of Jung-gu, which is the center of both tradition and modernity.”

During the course of one year, YoonA will be carrying out her activities in various areas such as Myeongdong, Namdaemun, Bukchangdong Tourism Special Zone, Dongdaemun Fashion Town Special Zone.
