On October 12th, the court attempted for the third time to mediate conflicts between Younha and her agency, Lion Media, but unfortunately met with failure once again.

Both parties appeared in front of the Seoul Central District Court in an attempt to come to an agreement with regards to a lawsuit Younha filed against Lion Media (Lion Media had responded with a countersuit).

Dressed in a black suit, Younha appeared looking very dejected. The one-hour long arbitration required that both parties take turns every 10 minutes to submit their opinions to the court. Afterwards, both parties were brought in to discuss the possibility of a settlement.

Younha was seen coming out of the room to have a moment to herself. Collecting both hands in front of her as she sat in a chair, she tried to calm down her nervous feelings. Unfortunately, the pressure seemed to be too much for her, as she eventually apologized to reporters and her staff with a short, “I’m sorry,” and burst into tears.

Lion Media’s lawyers spoke with reporters after the meditation and stated, “Both parties tried very hard to work on the differences in opinions, but it seems a battle in the court is unavoidable at this point. Younha’s representatives are adamant about their positions, leaving no room for us to work with. We, too, do not want to give in.

Younha’s lawyers stated, “We have nothing to say. It’s a sensitive issue and we promise to put out a statement as soon as everything’s resolved.

Earlier today, U-KISS announced that they’d be going into follow-up promotions with their next track, “Someday“. As it turns out, the group is abruptly halting their “Neverland” activities because of leader Soohyun being diagnosed with a vocal cord nodule.
U-KISS was originally scheduled to promote “Neverland” until the end of the month, but NH Media revealed on September 11th that they will be cutting it off early to let Soohyun rest.
As fans already know, Soohyun has quite a significant amount of high notes that are sung live throughout the song. For the past six months, he’s been training in singing and dancing at the same time for six hours a day.
Representatives stated, “The worst possible situation would be promoting their follow-up without Soohyun. Soohyun will be performing at the ‘Asia Song Festival‘ on October 15th because of how important it is, but we’ll make sure to lessen the strain on his vocals as much as possible.”

Supernova released their 4th Japanese Studio Album on October 12th. Being their last release before leader Yunhak's enlistment in the military, fans had hopes of being able to get them their first ever #1 in the Oricon Charts, and throught the day were encouraging and reminding others on twitter to go buy the album. Consecuentely many were left with a feeling of defeat when the album fell short for 498 copies below popular singer Kimura Kaera, and landed on the second spot with 13,852 copies sold on the first day.

Kwangsu addressed the fans apologetic tweets stating:
Why are you saying sorry everyone? It's okay! Just listen to the album!  Never mind the first place!

4U features three new tracks: Here we go, Kimiga kienakute and For You.
For You is a sweet melody that expresses the group's gratitude for their fans loyalty and in which the rap team shows off their singing voices, as the track doesn't have any rap section.

Despite having debuted in Japan in 2009 and being considered one of the top kpop groups in Japan, Supernova has yet to grab a first spot in Oricon.
Their previous album release, a compilation album named Supernova Best peaked at number 7, and their last studio album Hop Step Jumping, released in Sept '10 only managed to reach the 13th spot.

We have been enjoying plenty of BigDog/AlphaDog videos of late, showing off the Marines’ sure-footed four-legged robot. Well apparently the U.S. isn’t the only country planning to build a pack of quadruped bots. Check out this small South Korean robot dog, prancing quietly around a trade show.
South Korean firm SimLab is building the robot and testing simulation software on it to help the robot gain more ambulatory autonomy. It’s still a little wobbly, as the video shows. It doesn’t go backward, but then most flesh-and-blood animals don’t, either. The video is from the IEEE's International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems last month.
IEEE Spectrum says the South Korean government is sponsoring a taller version, and this little fella is being used as a proof of concept.

The prime suspect in the murder of a university student in Itaewon, Seoul 14 years ago has been caught in the U.S. and is undergoing extradition proceedings. The Justice Ministry on Monday said Arthur Patterson, the then-17-year-old son of a U.S. Forces Korea civilian employee, is accused of stabbing Cho Jung-pil, then a 23-year-old student at Hongik University, nine times in the toilet of a hamburger restaurant in Itaewon in April 1997.

Edward Lee, a Korean-American who was 18 at the time, was at the scene with Patterson, was accused and tried for the murder, but the Supreme Court acquitted him in September 1999 due to insufficient evidence. Patterson, who was only indicted for possession of lethal weapons, was released in a special amnesty in August 1998 and left for the U.S. at the end of August 1999, just before Lee was cleared.

Right after the amnesty, Cho's family filed another complaint against Patterson and the investigation was reopened. However, the indictment was dropped in October 2002 because Patterson was out of the country.

Yay! So excited for this drama to start. Upcoming tvN drama Flower Boy Ramyun Shop has released a few teasers, mostly featuring Jung Il-woo doing his best impression of a ramyun CF. He really looks like he’s selling noodles instead of a drama, but let’s face it: whatever he’s selling, I’m buying. They really are teasers and nothing more — just a tiny taste of what’s to come.

The first is the ramyun CF, where Jung Il-woo basically makes a series of adorable puppy faces at his cup o’ noodles: WHICH IS BEHIND A CUT SO CLICK HERE )

So… none of those teasers actually gave me any new information on what the drama is about, and yet I’m oddly pleased. Must be the Jung Il-woo effect. Off to make some ramyun…

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop premieres October 31 on tvN.

U-Kiss main vocalist Soohyun's "Neverland" activities has been halted due rising problems with his vocal nodules.

On October 12th, according to U-Kiss's agency NH Media, the group's 2nd studio album activities were halted earlier than planned. Soohyun, who is in charge of the group's main vocals, is currently under care for his vocal chords and will be until the end of October. This event has cancelled all of U-Kiss's broadcasting activities for "Neverland" and the group's follow-up activities are being questioned.

Activities for "Neverland" has proven to be exhausting for his vocal chords as he must dance vigorously to the intense choreography accompanying the song, in addition to being in charge of the main vocals.

For 3 months, he underwent training and attended dance practice for 6 hours a day. Leader Soohyun is in charge of the more intense vocals in "Neverland," a difficult high pitch tone.

The mixture of appearing on various programs and the burden of the intense choreography for "Neverland" has resulted in vocal fatigue.

The agency have stated that they will take Soohyun's recovery period in consideration and that the worst case scenario is that Soohyun be absent from follow up activities.

F.T. Island has announced that they will be holding encore concerts thanks to the explosive requests made by their fans.

On November 26th and 27th, the boys will be holding ‘Memory in F.T. Island‘ at the Blue Square in Hannam-dong. The concert will be an encore of their ‘Play! F.T. Island‘ concert held back in August. Fans that couldn’t attend the concerts the first time around showed strong interest for an encore, and their wishes were fortunately answered.

Representatives of FNC Music stated, “Riding on the love of their fans, F.T. Island has decided to come out with another encore concert. Unlike the bright atmosphere of the ‘Play! F.T. Island’ concert, ‘Memory in F.T. Island’ will be a lot more emotional but just as bright. It will be special, so please look forward to it.”

F.T. Island also released their remake album on October 10th and will be performing their comeback on the October 13th episode of Mnet‘s ‘M! Countdown‘ with “Like the Birds“.

Upcoming boy group MYNAME recently revealed their debut day through their official fancafe. The boys will be appearing on M! Countdown on Thurday, and will be continuing their promotions with debut stages on the other music shows in that same week.

MYNAME consists of 5 members and was originally known as Hwanhee Boys prior to their naming. Insoo, Seyong, Jun.Q, leader Gunwoo and maknae Chaejin, have ages ranging from being born in 1988 to 1995.

Most of the boys have had previous experience with the media or with music. Member Insoo ('88) was revealed to be a talented dancer and singer, as well as choreographer. He appeared in Superstar K2 before signing with H2 Media. Rapper Seyong ('91) was previously a JYP trainee. When he moved to H2 Media, he became one of Hwanhee's back-up dancers, and was featured in one of his tracks called "Love Love Love". He also appeared as an actor in "I Believe in Love/My Love, My Family". Both members have also appeared in episode 96 of "Dream Team".

One of the last revealed members, Gunwoo, was revealed to be the group's leader, meaning that MYNAME didn't name the oldest of the group as its leader, unlike most other debuting groups. Gunwoo was born in '89, and will be the main vocalist of the group.

Jun.Q ('93), the member which was previously compared to Lee Seunggi for his looks, also previously appeared in Infinite's "You're My Oppa", as one of Jiae's friends. He is said to be a rapper.

Maknae Chaejin ('95), on the other hand, has been known for his looks as well as his celebrity friends as he has been shown to be close friends with classmate A Pink's Naeun. He attends classes at the School of Performing Arts in Seoul, together with many other young stars, including f(x)'s Sulli, miss A's Suzy, X-5's Sulhu, Boy Friend's youngest members Youngmin, Kwangmin and Minwoo; as well as a lot of others.
