South Korea's military is vulnerable to North Korea's biological attacks, due to lack of adequate equipment, an opposition lawmaker insisted on Sunday.
Rep. Shin Hak-yong of the Democratic Party said that the South's military currently owns scores of anti-biological vehicles capable of detecting only four kinds of biological agents, though the North has 13 kinds of biological agents, including anthrax bacterium, smallpox virus and cholera.

The number of Seoul's elderly people living apart from their children increased more than 120 percent over the past decade, data showed Sunday, illustrating the nation's rapid demographic changes.
The data released by the Seoul Metropolitan Government found that 43 percent, or 400,224, of its residents aged over 65 lived away from their children as of last year.
The figure marked an increase of 123.7 percent from 178,908 in 2000, the data showed.
The number of senior couples increased 129.6 percent, while the number of elderly people living alone increased 113.3 percent in the same period.
In a poll conducted last October, only 21.5 percent of the city's elderly people expressed a wish to live together with their children, down from 30.4 percent recorded in 2005.

Korean actress Goo Hye-sun and MBLAQ member Lee Joon have been cast in a new SBS TV series, according to the show’s promoter.
An official with the show told 10Asia over the phone on Thursday that Goo and Lee have been confirmed for SBS’ drama “Fly Again” (translated title) scheduled to air in January of next year.
“We are still in the process of casting another character while more information about their roles will be released sometime next week,” the official explained.
The show is set to go on air after SBS historical drama “A Tree with Deep Roots” (translated title), starring Han Suk-kyu, Jang Hyuk and Shin Se-gyeong, ends its 24-part run in late December.
Goo, who made her debut through a TV commercial in 2002, is currently starring in SBS’ Friday series “The Musical” opposite Choi Daniel. She will take part in the upcoming Busan International Film Festival to screen her new movie “Peach Tree” next month.
Lee Joon is the rapper of his five-member boy band MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality). He has starred in teenage series “Jungle Fish 2” (KBS, 2010) and in the film of the same name the following year.

The time has come to for fans to grab their pink glowsticks again: SNSD has finally released the details for their much-anticipated comeback!
The title of the ladies’ third full album will be ‘The Boys‘, and it will hit store shelves on October 5, with the eponymous title track being released separately on the day before, October 4.
‘The Boys’ is especially notable for being composed by Teddy Riley, the American composer who worked with Michael Jackson, and more recently, with Rania for “Dr Feel Good“. In addition, the music video will be released in both English and Korean.
Meanwhile, “kid leader” Taeyeon‘s teaser picture was also released, and it shows her dressed in a stately, Victorian gown and exuding nearly tangible amounts of charisma and charm.

The lawsuit between Super Junior’s former Chinese member Hankyung and SM Entertainment over their exclusive contract has been resolved.
On the 25th, following Seoul’s High Court’s civil jury of 19 members (Presiding Judge Go Euiyoung), Hankyung’s lawyer from Horizon Line law firm* submitted a request to waive the lawsuit over his exclusive contract.
It was said that because of Hankyung’s youthfulness, “he’s had continuous concerts overseas and he hasn’t been able to rest once in the span of two years thanks to the extremely busy schedule he has,” and “it won’t do for him to have to keep paying penalty fines because of this contract and have this affect his current activities.”
From a superior position in the partnership, SM wanted to trap 21-year-old Hankyung into a contract that would keep him with their company until he was 34.
Despite the fact that the court attempted to mediate prior to the announcement, Hankyung said that “his trust relationship with SM had collapsed,” while SM claimed that Hankyung “acted independently before the decision of the exclusive contract was finalized,” which led to their legal battle.
A member of the jury said, “the exclusive contract drawn up January of 2003, the altered contract made in February of 2007, and the annexed contract of December of 2007 were all signed by both parties but there is no effect,” and so the plaintiff has won.
