Earlier, we reported that f(x)‘s Sulli attended the product launch event for Sony Cybershot‘s DSC-TX55 camera on September 21st. Apparently, the star experienced some embarrassment when the reporters practically ignored her.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Sulli arrived at the event about 40 minutes late. However, reporters were said to have been more interested in the other guests, leaving Sulli alone and with a burning sense of embarrassment.

SM Entertainment revealed that Sulli’s outfit had arrived late, which was the cause of her tardiness. Reportedly, the agency apologized to the press.

On the 22nd, Kang Min Kyung of Davichi apologized via her Twitter and apologized for their recent performance on M! Countdown. She stated, “One of the confetti pieces got in Haeri’s mouth and she couldn’t breathe. Although we tried to cover it up and continue singing, we couldn’t… we’re really sorry.”

Shortly thereafter, fellow member Lee Haeri publicly apologized for their mistake as well by stating, “I don’t know why this kind of stuff keeps happening when we sing this one song. When we sing, the confetti always interferes. We’re really sorry.”

Near the end of their performance, Lee Haeri couldn’t sing and missed a few stanzas because a piece of confetti got blown into her throat. Kang Min Kyung saw what had happened and exploded in laughter on stage with her fellow member.

Netizens were understanding as they commented, “It’s okay, just confetti“, “It made it more memorable“, and “It was funny“.

It was recently revealed that, despite being very popular in all of Asia, Super Junior’s performance fee for variety shows remains low as a group. The fee charged per performance is approximately 209,000 won ($175 USD).

For shows with a more generous production team, Super Junior can make up to 417,000 won ($350 USD). However, this does not seem to proportionately represent Super Junior’s popularity. For singers who have not debuted for more than 5 years, they usually make approximately 167,000 won ($140 USD).

Along with this, it also revealed that Super Junior has always acted professionally during the filming of shows despite the low earnings. For example, an incident occurred during the filming of a recent episode of Dream Team when the filming had to pause for over 30 minutes due to technical difficulties. In order to entertain the audience during this period, members of Super Junior went to the crowd and began dancing and signing autographs, with Leeteuk acting as the MC.

Super Junior‘s Donghae has been receiving praise for his kind heart.

Recently on Twitter, someone put out a desperate call asking for help. She tweeted, “An unni I know is suffering from acute osteomyelodysplasia, but it’s recently gotten much worse. She is also undergoing anti-cancer treatment and this surgery will not be covered by insurance, so she is having a really tough time. In order to keep receiving blood transfusions, she needs a lot of blood donor cards! Please help ㅠㅠ.” (In Korea, a person with a blood donor card is able to receive one unit of blood free of charge)

Donghae happened to see her tweet while browsing on Twitter, and responded, “Hello, this is Super Junior’s Donghae. I’m contacting you after seeing your message. This is about the blood donor card, so if you could tell me your phone number, I’ll be in touch.”

Although Eunjung debuted with long hair, she’s had short hair for what seems like forever. With T-ara‘s comeback set for November 1st, it seems like she’s trying out different styles, as she recently shared a selca of herself in a wig.

On September 23rd, Eunjung tweeted, “Cut my front bangs in a straight line! Long hair!

Eunjung has been sporting short black hair with side-swept bangs for the group’s past promotions, so the change was a pleasant surprise for fans. Although she was cute with short hair, she gives a more mature vibe with longer hair.

Netizens commented, “You look great in short or long hair”, “You’ve definitely gotten more beautiful”, “A woman fit for the fall season”, and “I think you looked good with short hair too.”

The problem of South Korean citizens abducted by North Korea is being slowly forgotten amidst coldness and indifference

Ask an American or South Korean negotiator about all those South Koreans whom the North Koreans have spirited to the North since the Korean War (1950-1953), and you're sure to get the barest, politely stated non-response.

The tragic truth is the issue of South Koreans abducted to North Korea, beginning with tens of thousands dragooned off the streets of Seoul during the North's brief occupation in that terrible summer of 1950, is simply not on the radar screen of anyone other than their long-suffering relatives. They - and a few activists and journalists - may talk up the issue from time to time but quickly discover that most people don't really want to know about it.

"The South Korean government has continuously looked away from the problem of South Korean civilians abducted by North Korea," said Ahn Jun-ho, a reporter for the conservative Chosun Ilbo, South Korea's largest-selling newspaper, at a forum here. "In South Korea, the problem of abductions has been consistently ignored. The government views the abduction problem as an obstacle to the inter-Korean talks, and South Korean citizens are not even interested."
Indeed, said Ahn )

Recently, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk and girl group 2NE1 sat down for an interview and shared their thoughts about their recent success in Japan.

2NE1 released their debut album, “Nolza“, on September 21st, and it’s managed to grab 1st place on Japan’s Oricon charts for two consecutive days. Yang Hyun Suk gave a modest opinion of the matter, as he said, “2NE1 has just gotten their feet inside the door; they are receiving a lot of advice from K-Pop seniors who have already promoted in the industry.”

He continued, “Right now, we are just simply doing our best. It’s too early to think about success.”

Additionally, the CEO gave credit to SNSD and KARA for further expanding the Hallyu wave inside the country. “There’s no question that SNSD and KARA were among the first to successfully break into the industry, and thus many K-Pop idols including 2NE1 have made smooth transitions. Right now, we need to acknowledge that we are rookies in the industry and not get ahead of ourselves.

2NE1, who witnessed firsthand the massive turnouts in their debut tour, commented, “We were really surprised that 12,000 fans came and filled the entire stadium. However, we won’t dare to think that we are popular in the business yet. We’ve promised each other that we will do our very best in our future concerts and be committed to whatever we do.”

According to reports, it’s expected that the girls will be raking in approximately 10 million USD from their Japanese tour alone. Up ’til now, the girls have sold 70,000 concert tickets, each ticket being sold at 7,500 yen while product sales in the stadiums have summed up to be 3 million USD.
