Filipino actor Joseph Bitangcol is thankful to his former girlfriend Sandara Park that she showed her concern after he figured in a car accident.
"[Thank you for everything,]" Joseph quipped on "Showbiz Central," Sept. 18, referring to Korean Pop Star Dara Park of 2NE1.
Joseph was surprised at Sandara's show of concern when she learned that he figured in a road mishap Aug. 10 en route to Antipolo together with some friends.
"[I was also surprised about that. It was my just my first day in the hospital when she messaged me. It was like, 'How are you? I've heard about the news. I hope you are okay. Please update me on how I could be of help.' I was surprised, but at that time I could not really respond because of the injuries. The message was read to me to lift up my spirits, I guess,]" the actor shared.
Joseph is amazed that Sandara, or Dara as she’s now known in Korea, still manages to check on him through social networking sites despite her busy schedule.
"[That was one of the things I told her. I said, 'You're amazing, you're so admirable.' The last time we saw each other was at the reunion (of Star Circle Quest reality show) and it seemed she did not forget any of us. Then the accident happened. If you could only read her messages from Twitter and what not, it was like she had no time to rest but she still managed to say hello and offer her help in any way she can,]" he said, adding, "[No wonder she has so many blessings coming her way.]"
Joseph said he and the whole "Star Circle Quest" gang are happy with what Sandara has achieved in the international music scene.
"[We entered this industry together. (Now we, your brothers and sisters in showbiz, are happy for you./ Now we are just as happy that your brother is also in showbiz.)* More power to you. Like what we said before, do not change your ways and we hope it stays that way. God bless you always.]"
If ever Sandara visits Manila again, Joseph will grab the chance to see her and personally thank her for all her support.
"[If there would be a chance, why not? I would be happy if that happens.]"
The actor shared that the last time he saw Sandara was kinda "[weird because when we saw each other, there was this news that said she remained single. Well, I guess that can't be avoided. Our lives have become complicated anyway.]"
He took the opportune time to clear, once and for all, why they broke up.
"[I would like to make it clear, there was no third party involved,]" he stressed. "[It was just... complicated. Perhaps... we were quite immature back then.]"
But all is water under the bridge now as "[we have already discussed about it. There was closure.]"
Joseph was honest enough to admit that his non-showbiz girlfriend used to feel jealous when he spent time with Sandara when she was here.
"[At first, of course, she was jealous. But eventually she got used to it. Our lives are complicated. Back then, she used to react on any queries from people we meet about Sandara and I because we can't avoid the fact that Sandara has been my long-time love team partner. But now, she brushes it off. She has gotten used to it,]" he shared.
