Dal★Shabet’s Subin and Ah Young reveal concept photos for “Bling Bling”
As Dal Shabet prepares for the release of their third single ”Bling Bling“, solo shots of members Subin and Ah Young were revealed online today.
The girls donned summer’s trendiest looks with stand-out accessories, neon-colored T-shirts, and shiny hotpants. The photoshoot was directed by renowned photographer, Hong Jang Hyun, who produced eye-catching shots for Dal Shabet’s jacket covers.
Ah Young pulled off the sexy ’sporty look’ perfectly, drawing out a hidden charm that contrasts from her usual innocent image. Meanwhile, Subin posed like a professional model, drawing from her experience as a model prior to her debut.
Dal Shabet will continue to reveal member shot sets over time, starting with Subin and Ah Young. They plan on releasing their new single, “Bling Bling”, on August 11th.

AFP - South Korea's pop music industry is eyeing Europe after taking East Asia by storm, with promoters using the power of the Internet to lure distant fans.
K-pop over the past decade has established a devoted fan base in China, Japan and Southeast Asia, with heartthrobs like Rain and boy bands like TVXQ packing out concerts and topping charts.
Exports of music products surged from $6 million in 2002 to $31.3 million in 2009 as the phenomenon known as the Korean Wave (hallyu) spread.
K-pop's overseas success was driven partly by a need to go beyond the home market, plagued by plunging CD sales and free music downloads on the Internet in the world's most wired country.
South Korea's recorded music sales shrank from 286.1 billion won ($272 million) in 2002 to about 80 billion won in 2009. Entertainers searched for new ways to survive -- by courting fans abroad via the Internet.
Now South Korea's digital music market -- including legal music downloads on mobile phones or the Internet -- is worth 600 billion won after a series of court rulings against free music-streaming and downloading sites.

As far as Hollywood debuts go, few directors are as lucky as Park Chan-wook. With a cast that includes Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Mia Wasikowska, Jacki Weaver and most recently, Lucas Till, Park has a heavy hitting array of talent coming to bat for him in a project that seems perfectly tuned to his sensibilities. And now, one of the final pieces of the casting puzzle is in place and a Coppola family regular continues his rising career with a spot in “Stoker.”

A movement amongst the larger agencies is gathering attention due to the fact that they plan on boycotting any overseas performances starting next year.
The top 3 major broadcasters, KBS, MBC, and SBS have all had various performances overseas centered around the theme, "Hanryu Concert." MBC held a performance in Bangkok and Tokyo during the months of March and May. SBS held a recording of Inkigayo at Osaka, Japan in June. KBS will also be holding Music Bank at the Tokyo Dome in July.
For newcomers such overseas performances may help raise their popularity in the country they are performing at. But as insiders explained, for singers that are already considered "Hanryu Stars," it is more hurtful than helpful.
One of the reasons stated is that when an act is given high exposure during a period when they aren't promoting internationally, that group/singer's popularity may actually dip lower when they do begin official international promotions. To add on, for a singer/group that is already popular overseas, they have more opportunities to show a more colorful and perfected performance during a 2 hour solo concert than an broadcasting company's international music show.
Another issue is that in order for a 1 day performance overseas the talent must spend at least 2 days in that country. In order to do so they must give up on various Korean schedules. If a talent cannot take on their already booked schedules, in the end it is bound to be harmful to them.
One insider stated, "It is pointless to continue participating in these international performances led by the broadcasters while taking such damages. A few agencies have already said they will not be participating in international performances managed by broadcasters. We are starting to think about doing the same."
Meanwhile if this movement becomes popular amongst more agencies, in the end it will be hard for broadcasters to hold overseas events.
