After School’s first Japan showcase tickets sold out in one minute!

The showcase tickets for popular K-pop girl group After School’s performance at Akasaka BLITZ went on sale today. Over 50,000 people attempted to purchase the tickets, but with a 3,000 ticket capacity (for two stages), all of the tickets were sold out in one minute!

After School has collaborated with Amuro Namie for her collaboration album, “Checkmate!” and has even sang at ‘Tokyo Girls Collection by girlswalker.com 2011 SUMMER/SPRING’ despite not having made their debut in Japan yet.

As reported, the group will make their debut with their new single, “Bang!”, which is set for release on August 17th.

Their debut single is a Japanese remake of their song that is already popular in Korea. At their July performance at Tokyo, it is expected that “Bang!” will be performed at this live.

a new Ballad Group to debut! BoM (Blooming of Our Music)!

To add to the growing list of debuts this year, another talented boy group debut from Y2Y Contents Company is coming up!  Straying from the usual idol groups specializing in dance music, this new four-member group is named ‘BoM‘ (Blooming of Our Music) and they specialize in ballads.
BoM is comprised of members Raewon, Sechang, Tagoon, and Yua, and each boast a long history of experience.  Raewon released two digital singles in 2010, while Sechang was a child actor, as well as a contestant of MBC’s ‘Birth of a Great Star‘.  Rapper Tagoon (better known as Mino) was a former Block B trainee, and can be heard in several underground mixtapes (Zico, Hanhae).
A representative of Y2Y Contents Company said, “With news of our vocal group’s debut, fans began searching up various portal sites for information regarding the members.  They’re regarded as one of the new rookies to keep an eye on by representatives.  All four have great visuals and talent, so we hope you look forward to them.”
Sechang especially was praised on ‘Birth of a Great Star’ by legendary singer Lee Eun Mi, who had said, “You have a voice that will make women kneel to the floor.”

As many fans know, 2PM’s club track “Hands Up” owes its vibe to its bright synth loops and addictive melody, brightened with the addition of a cute adlib by none other than the Wonder Girls‘ Sohee two minutes into the song. Today, J.Y. Park revealed that Sohee contributed more than just her voice for the production of this track.

On his me2day and Twitter, the producer revealed, “The Wonder Girls’ Sohee fixed the melody of 2PM’s “Hands Up”. If she hadn’t done so, the song would’ve been different. This is why it says, “advised by Ahn Sohee,” in 2PM’s album. Miss Sensible, please continue your constructive advice~^^”

The number of women in Seoul with higher education has almost doubled in the last 10 years, according to a survey Sunday.

But the ratio of those engaged in economic activity among such women was lower than that of men by about 30 percent, mainly because females quit their jobs after having children.

The research by Seoul City showed that the number of women aged 30 or over who received college education or higher jumped by 95.4 percent to 1.1 million in 2010 from 575,000 in 2000.

During the same period, that of men rose by 45.1 percent.

On June 25th, the members of ZE:A shared their unique way of sleeping by documenting their music video filming process over the course of 46 hours with a series of pictures.

On their me2day, they wrote, “We’ve been filming for our ‘Watch Out‘ music video for the past 36 hours!”

Representatives of Star Empire later added with more pictures, “The kids are all knocked out after filming the ‘Watch Out’ music video for 46 hours and 40 minutes! They’re all sleeping as is! This is a real situation! Waiting room! But as much as they’ve suffered for this, we believe that the music video will be that much greater.”

Super Junior’s Donghae finished filming for the Taiwanese drama, ‘Extravagant Challenge‘, and relayed his sadness in finishing the drama through his Twitter on June 26th.
He tweeted,  “Today was the last filming day for ‘Extravagant Challenge’. 3 months already passed. It’s regretful.”
‘Extravagant Challenge’ is the remake of the Japanese manga, ‘Skip Beat‘, in which Super Junior’s Choi Siwon will also act with his fellow bandmate, Donghae. Donghae, who already has music skills for his character, acts as the self-centered and flirtatious character, ‘Bu Puo Shen‘, while Choi Siwon plays the popular actor, ‘Dung He Lian‘.
‘Extravagant Challenge’ is to be aired on GTV this year.

 World-star Rain has caught the attention of “Transformers” director Michael Bay.

On the June 25th episode of KBS 2TV’s “Entertainment Weekly,” reporters met with the director and cast of the latest installment of the “Transformers” series, “Dark Side of the Moon.”

When asked if he knew any Korean actors, Bay responded, “There’s one that I know who came to our office not long ago. He’s also a singer. He did this dance,” and proceeded to imitate Rain’s choreography for “Love Song.”

The reporters then asked what the director thought of Rain as an actor to which he replied, “I really like him. He’s good.”

Shia LaBeouf was also interviewed and asked whether he had ever visited Korea. “I have,” he replied, “and it was really beautiful” to which co-star Rosie Huntington-Whitely added, “I’d like to visit there soon too.”

Actor Tyrese left a comment that he is friends with J.Y. Park and Rain along with a message for the two asking to give him a call soon.

T-ara's "Roly Poly" MV will be released a day early due to the public's Explosive Reaction

T-ara has turned into "retro girl" for their new album's jacket photos.

T-ara's agency released T-ara's "Roly Poly" teaser on the 24th and received a hot reaction. The music video will be a 10-minute mini-drama and was expected to be revealed on the 29th at midnight, but now has been changed to be released at 5:00 PM on the 28th, with the audio following afterward at midnight.

The 10-minute music video for "Roly Poly" will be about a girls' curiosity of an adult life. It will be about young girls and their hearts wanting to enter an adult's world. The music video was director by Cha Euntaek.

T-ara's young idol members Eunjung, Jiyeon and Hyomin were the main actresses, joined by Jeon Youngrok (Boram's father) and Im Yejin, who are former stars of the 70s and 80s. They are able to contribute a realistic feeling to the video.

Meanwhile, T-ara will have a comeback on July 1st and are busy preparing for their advance into Japan.
