Yunho & IU's performances )

Krystal was flawless, IU has improved a lot (still needs more confidence), and poor Yunho. :( His routine was still great, but I wince for his knee caps.

Just two weeks into its broadcast, KBS’s “Immortal Song 2” met with a sharp drop in viewer ratings, placing last for its time slot overall.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the show’s newest episode received 6.0% in viewer ratings, a 1.9% drop compared to the last episode, which received 7.9%. The episode saw the departure of artist IU and the addition of SECRET’s Ji Eun.

Other shows within the same time slot, MBC’s “Infinity Challenge“, MBC’s “We Got Married“, and SBS’s “Star King“, both received higher views, at 15.4%, 8.5% and 9.8%, respectively.

PD Kwon Jae Young stated that he had expected the drop beforehand, “The first episode aimed to show what kind of program ‘Immortal Song 2′ was so we made the episode longer than normal. For the second episode, we wanted to show more about the preparation process the singers were going through, so we expected the drop in viewer ratings. We won’t be paying any concern to the viewer ratings and will continue to show what we have as planned.”

Not suprised. People only watch for their favorite idol and could care less about the others. And most people want Oh My School back

South Korean animator Choi Jong-Il knew he had a hit on his hands when Pororo the penguin hopped onto TV screens back in 2003.

Choi's previous creations had failed to grab the undivided attention of his six-year-old son and his son's friends.

That all changed when the mischievous but affectionate blue and white penguin, sporting aviator glasses and a flying helmet, made his debut.

"The kids' eyes were glued to the TV...they never touched other toys as long as Pororo was on," Choi told AFP in an interview.

T-ara’s Jiyeon is lovesick over Dok Go Jin (played by Cha Seung Won) from MBC’s “The Greatest Love“.

On June 11th, Jiyeon tweeted the photos above with the caption, “On the way home after ‘Music Core‘~~ Recharge!!!! Without the photo (of Dokko Jin) it’s less cool.”

The picture, which shows Jiyeon with a bottle of Vitamin Water against her cheek, parodies a scene from the romantic comedy drama “The Greatest Love”, where Goo Ae Jung (played by Gong Hyo Jin) cools her face with a bottle of Vitamin Water that has a photo of Dok Go Jin on it. “Recharge” refers to Dok Go Jin’s constant need to see Goo Ae Jung in order to recharge his spirits.

Jiyeon also tweeted to fellow member, Eunjung, “Potatoes are for cultivating (raising). As you cultivate, one day a flower will bloom,” which brought about much laughter.

Meanwhile, T-ara will be making a comeback with the title track "Roly Poly" on July 1st.

Lee Soo-man, the founder of SM entertainment, gives a speech on “CT (culture technology) and Hallyu” during the “2011 SM TOWN in Paris” writers and publishers conference at the Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel, Saturday.

Lee reveals know-how of Hallyu

Lee Soo-man, the founder of SM Entertainment, the nation’s largest talent agency, said that the secret of success for Korean artists in the global market is the long-accumulated culture technology (CT), during the “2011 SM TOWN in Paris.”

Addressing the attendees of the writers and publishers conference at the Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel, June 11, he introduced the theory of CT which was a concept he created in the mid-90s in order to break into other Asian markets.

“I knew back in the 90s that CT would play a bigger role than IT (Information Technology). CT is a much more sophisticated and complicated solution. SM makes music through theoretical and systematic CT. The whole process of making the trainees into a ‘jewel’ is CT,”
said Lee.

Hip Hop Group Cream Team’s U-Know Yunho-Taecyeon Diss Controversy “Puppets Who Spit Out Rap”

Hip hop group Cream Team’s new single ‘Yes, You’ has been swept up in controversy for dissing U-Know Yunho and Taecyeon.

Releasing their third single ‘Yes, You’ on the 7th, Cream Team’s Mazorkey and Amotai quickly became hot topics for using slang and swear words as they directed their lyrics at idols singers saying, ‘Doll-like kids are taking their clothes off, some are ripping them off. They are the idols of kids, this isn’t a diss but saying that is awesome isn’t cool at all.” They also became the topics of a heated debate when netizens accused them of directly attacking and dissing TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho and 2PM’s Taecyeon.

In hip hop, dissing is common and used in a variety of ways to attack people rappers don’t like through songs or actions to portray their raw emotions. Using implications, rappers leave evidence for listeners to guess who the subject of their diss is.

Netizens who heard ‘Yes, You’ say that the lyrics ‘Doll-like kids are taking their clothes off, some are ripping them off. All they have to show are their chocolate abs that will melt off soon’ are garnered at Taecyeon, who is called ‘Ripping Taecyeon’ for his shirt-ripping performances while the lyrics, ‘The white page and dry pen that reflect your heart, is that the truth of life that you speak of?’ sound similar to the rap that U-Know Yunho performed on KBS 2TV’s ‘Happy Together season 3′, implying that Cream Team are mocking U-Know Yunho.

Furthermore, Daum’s Music Corner’s introduction to the single album is pouring oil on the flame. The introduction reads, “Cream Team’s Mazorkey and Amotai are pulling the bowstring taut and their targets are 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon of JYP and TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho of TVXQ,” and “A sharp admonition against those who act like the main characters of hip hop with their extravagant performances and so-so looks.” By blatantly stating U-Know Yunho and Taecyeon’s name, Daum solidified the fact that ‘Yes, You’ is a diss song aimed at the two singers.

As the controversy grew, Cream Team’s Amotai left a tweet on his Twitter account that read, “There isn’t a single part in my lyrics that directly singles out Ok Taecyeon or U-Know Yunho. If you feel guilty about that, call me out for it,” and “Unlike my lyrics, Mazorkey’s definitely has parts relating to Ok Taecyeon and U-Know Yunho.” By indirectly admitting that ‘Yes, You’ is a diss song aimed at the two singers, Amotai has only caused the controversy to rage further.
