Dongho aspires to be more relevant than his nugu hyungs, wants to build baseball park

U-KISS’s Dongho recently stated that he wants to build a baseball park for Korea’s baseball fans.

The topic came about after Dongho made a comment about the effects of his unique role in MBC’s “Royal Family“. The idol said, “I’ve heard a lot of my friends and family say that I should treat them to great things since I’m the grandson of a chaebeol (Korean millionaire) [in the drama].”

He then revealed, “If I were really the grandson of a chaebeol, I would first build a baseball park for Korea’s baseball fans.”

Why a baseball park, you ask?

Dongho explained, “It’s because I thought of the hard time I had while playing baseball on KBS2TV’s ‘Invincible Baseball“. ..I always thought it would be good for baseball fans to play baseball comfortably whenever they wanted to in a good facility.”

The busy idol also lamented about not having time to go watch a baseball game and said, “I want to visit a baseball stadium and cheer for my favorite team.”

Doojoon tries to get fresh with Lizzy

The attentions of the fans are heating up after the reveal of the kiss scene between Yoon Doojoon and Lizzy.

In the revealed pictures and videos, Yoon Doojoon and Lizzy are showing off what is referred to as the “spoon kiss,” kissing with a spoon between them. This is a scene from the MBC sitcom ‘All My Love’ which features both of them.

Lizzy, who has a crush on Yoon Doojoon, confesses that she had “spoon kissed” him when Kim Nayoung starts to doubt the relationships between them. This scene is from the part where Lizzy is lying to Kim Nayoung.

Fans who saw the captured scene commented, “This is a really nervous scene,” “It might be better than the “foam kiss,” “If there was no spoon, I would never forgive them,” “I am so jealous,” “From the first glance, I felt so queasy.”

Meanwhile, the “spoon kiss” scene with Yoon Doojoon and Lizzy will be broadcasted on the 8th of April.

Another Army Variety Show Will Be Premiering Soon

As some of you already know, Korean Forces Network (KFN) is Korea’s military TV network – and they’re introducing a new military variety show titled “Force Map”, which has a concept similar to “1 Night 2 Days” and “Infinity Challenge”. This program will feature Shinhwa's Andy, alongside actors Lee Joonki and Lee Wan, as well as comedian Yang Se-chan.

First episode airs on 13 April. Expect lots of funny challenges and missions.

On April 7th, the “UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour” presented by Heineken held a press conference at the Seoul Times Square Atrium.

Those in attendance were retired Dutch footballer Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Guy-Laurent Epstein (UEFA marketing director), Hans Erik (Heineken global manager), and Jan Arie Smit (Heineken Korea GM). There was also a special appearance by B2ST’s Doojoon.

It’s the trophy tour’s first time in Korea, and soccer fans got a real treat in seeing Netherland’s Giovanni van Brockhorst up close. It’s said that B2ST’s Doojoon was a little starstruck himself when he got to personally meet the athlete himself.

Eunjung publicly reveals that T-ara shares their income

T-ara's Eunjung revealed the distribution of her group's income.

On KBS 2TV's "Happy Together Season 3", which aired on the 7th, Eunjung said, "If you shoot a CF alone, the money will be split to some extent so the remaining members also receive some."

She continued, "The members who attend events will be the only ones paid for that," adding that, "The terms and conditions differ depending on the distribution of income."

After boldly revealing this personal information, MC Yoo Jaesuk said, "A very honest/nice Eunjung. Telling the truth about everything," praising Eunjung, in which she responded, "I shall not need to hide the true facts," attracting attention for her answer.

On April 7th, it was revealed that the members of Big Bang have extended their contracts with their label, YG Entertainment, for another five years!

Representatives from YG revealed, “The Big Bang members, who have been with us for 10 years since their trainee days, are like family members to us. We are thankful that they have put their trust in the label they’ve debuted with once again, but most of all, we are glad that Big Bang will be able to stand before their fans for a longer time.”

They continued, “Discord usually arises between idol groups and their agencies at exactly the five year milestone, when contracts come to an end. This year is Big Bang’s fifth anniversary, and although there’s been rumors about the group, none regarding discord within the group or with the agency have been accurate. They hold strong trust in each other.”

Big Bang will be returning with their special edition album on April 8th.

Numerous professionals from the music industry recently got together to rank the best and worst sounding idol groups and idol group members, the results of which were recently published through a special Chosun News report.

There are four sets of results in total: two for the best and worst singing idol groups, and two for the best and worst singing idol group members. A simple point system was used to record the results.

KeyEast, AMENT, Star J Entertainment, SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment will be joining forces to create a huge Asian management agency named ‘United Asia Management‘!

This joint investment corporate body was created out of an effort to develop an industry that will push ‘Hallyu’ to ‘Asianlyu’. United Asia Management aims to pioneer a global market, and all artists under the six agencies will be under a database system that manages intellectual property rights. A new contents production system will be utilized as well for movies, dramas, and other media. UAM will also be acting as the global agency for artists planning to advance, or currently promoting in, overseas.

On April 8th, the CEO of KeyEast Entertainment, Yang Geun Hwan, stated, “Using the experience each company has in advancing overseas, we will be bringing together each company’s business know-hows and network systems as the base for our new agency. We are looking forward to this collaboration in creating a synergistic effect for the advancement of not only Korea’s entertainment industry, but Asia as well.”

UAM will be officially established as of April 2011, and will be the new home to artists such as Jang Dong Gun, Hyun Bin, Shin Min Ah, Bae Yong Joon, Kim Hyun Joong, BoA, Lee Yeon Hee, Goo Hye Sun, Big Bang, Rain, 2PM, miss A, the Wonder Girls, and many others.

Teddy Riley is stunned over the power of K-Pop

Teddy Riley, the composer behind Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” as well as the producer to Lady Gaga and new girl group Rania, has expressed his awe over the K-pop phenomenon.

Rania recently held their debut showcase and formally debuted through Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on April 7th. Since then, he’s been keeping track of all the attention the girls have garnered on community sites like YouTube.

A representative of DR Music revealed, “On the morning of the 7th, he made an international call and expressed that he was amazed over the power of K-pop as he watched news of Rania spread through YouTube and Twitter. He’s read all of the English news on the girls and is quite stunned.”

Riley commented, “The majority of the comments weren’t from Koreans, but international K-pop fans. I didn’t think that people from where I live, the States, would be so interested in K-pop. There were some that even recognized the girls’ names, and most of the comments were praising ‘K-pop talent.’”

He continued, “I’m glad that my girl group is doing so well, and I sincerely congratulate their debut.”

Although he was originally scheduled to make a visit to Korea during the girls’ showcase, his conflicting schedules with Rihanna’s album production led him to postpone his visit. Riley revealed that he has plans of going on stage with the girls on a music program soon.

Rania has already been selected for a total of seven CFs including chicken (“9ers“), make up (“Swiss Skin“), clothing (“Arena Sports“), school uniforms (“School Looks“), game (“Jin Online“), and banking (“IBK Bank“).

KARA on a roll with getting #1 ~ Oricon Daily #1

KARA has once again reached the #1 spot on the Oricon Chart.

According to Japan’s Oricon Daily Singles Chart for April 7th, KARA’s third single, “Jet Coaster Love“, sold a whopping 28,643 copies on the second day of it’s release – bringing it up to 1st place. We reported earlier that on it’s release day on April 6th, KARA instantly appeared on the chart at the #2 position. It was revealed that on the 6th, “Jet Coaster Love” sold 47,810 copies, but an ‘armed ambush’ by SDN48 – who ended up selling about 2,000 more copies – was the reason why KARA placed 2nd instead of 1st. However, on the 7th, KARA reached the #1 position, clearly showing their popularity in Japan. The #2 rank for April 7th went to Tsuyoshi Domoto (22,568 copies) and SDN48 fell from 1st all the way down to 6th.

KARA has already occupied the #1 spot several times on the Oricon daily charts including their first album, “Girl’s Talk“, which has sold over 400,000 copies to date. They have also ranked #1 on the weekly DVD charts for their music video collection, “KARA BEST CLIP“.

Furthermore, unless there is an upset brewing, KARA is placed in position to claim the #1 spot on the officially recognized Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Because of the earthquake, the group was unable to have a proper promotional cycle, and the release date of the single was delayed from March 14th back to April 6th. The fact that KARA has been so successful, despite all of the circumstances, is somewhat astounding.

KARA’s #1 ranking in both the single and album categories is a great feat. The only other Korean artists who have been able to receive this high honor are BoA and TVXQ. Also, this is the first record from the current Hallyu girl group frenzy lineup.

North Korea May be Plotting New Strikes, U.S. General Says

The commander of U.S. troops in South Korea on Wednesday said North Korea could be plotting to carry out new hostilities, Reuters reported.

"I do worry that there are additional attacks and provocations that are being considered within North Korea," Gen. Walter Sharp said at a Capitol Hill hearing.

Pyongyang is believed to be behind the March 2010 sinking of a South Korean warship and the November shelling of the South's Yeongpyong Island. The two incidents killed 50 people.

International observers believe the transfer of power in Pyongyang could lead to new attacks as part of dictator Kim Jong Il's effort to bolster the domestic status of his youngest son and heir apparent, Kim Jong Un.
