Brave Brothers releases a new teaser dissing famous producers

Brave Brothers‘ new song is expected to create a huge stir in the Korean music industry.

On the 31st, Brave Brothers released the teaser video for Spin Spin, a song included in the first official album. The song is said to be a diss track of Korea’s famous producers.

Although the details of the song have yet to be revealed, the targets of his disses are some of the biggest names in the Korean music industry, such as Park Jinyoung, Bang Shi Hyuk, Jo Youngsu, and Shinsadong Tiger.

Park Jinyoung is the producer of GOD, Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, and others, while Bang Shihyuk is the hit producer of Baek Jiyoung’s Like Being Hit By A Bullet and 2AM’s Can’t Send You Away Even If I Die. Shinsadong Tiger is also a famous name, most noted for his work with Beast.

The teaser video released has only revealed the names of the producers listed above, but has managed to fully arouse the curiosity of netizens.

The first official album is set for release on September 3rd.

Super Junior member SungMin, who has always had a sweet and innocent image, recently surprised his fans by getting a tattoo. Now we know tattoos isn’t a rarity in the K-pop world with many idols having them already including G-Dragon, Se7en, JaeJoong, Yunho, Micky, etc.

Many weeks ago, fans first noted the bandage on the back of Sungmin, where the tattoo would later appear. This could help him change his image from his current cute/innocent feel to a more manly/strong aura as he gets older.

Rain says he was investor, not head of J. Tune agency

After months of being charged and accused of fraud and embezzlement, singer Rain has finally responded with what looks on the surface to be a thinly disguised attempt to cut all ties from J. Tune Entertainment -- the company he had formed after leaving JYPE Entertainment in 2007.

Rain said in a recent interview with local business daily that his involvement with the company had strictly been as an investor and not the company’s head despite his role as a majority shareholder.

Rain's response to months of charges hurled at him by former investors of his entertainment company is seen by many industry pundits as the singer pulling the "babe in the woods" act in playing dumb.

"Becoming a majority stock holder was not something I wanted. I was simply an investor in the company," Rain said in the interview.

A SGD1.5 Million Show?

KOREAN boy band Super Junior will hold a concert for the first time in Singapore in January.

And fans can expect an extravagant show along the likes of Aaron Kwok and Jay Chou as it's touted to be one of the most expensive concerts to be held here.

Concert organiser Running Into The Sun, an affiliate of Fly Entertainment, told The New Paper it believes the concert production cost will exceed its initial budget of $1.5 million (roughly USD1.11 million).

What will 2NE1’s comeback mean for K-pop?

The four member girl group, 2NE1, is set to finally drop their first full album this coming September 9th, and they will make their first comeback stage on the following 12th on SBS Inkigayo.

It was recently revealed that 2NE1 will be promoting all three title tracks from their album at the same time. The music video for ‘Go Away’ is currently being filmed, while the remaining two have yet to be confirmed.

Releasing more than one title track, let alone promoting all three at the same time, is definitely a new and unprecedented marketing strategy in the K-pop industry. As YG Entertainment explained it, their main priority is to spread 2NE1’s various music styles rather than winning first place.

So what will this new strategy mean for the marketing strategy in K-pop?

There are views that this will mark a great change in the idol music industry. In a situation where the excessive sexy concept and similar sounding hooks in songs have swept through the K-pop industry, 2NE1’s strategy will not only be fresh, but also unconventional.

SNSD Trolls Mezamashi TV Host by Switching Names and a Crazy Sica Fangirl Makes an Appearance

A Japanese fan girl who had lost her voice after shouting so much, but still continued to hang on to support and cheer ‘SNSD‘, is currently a hot topic amongst netizens.

SNSD / Girls’ Generation recently appeared on FujiTV’s Mezamashi TV and on the 31st, someone shared a clip of the fan girl at the scene of SNSD’s outdoor performance in Japan on a Korean community BBS.

SNSD opened their first showcase in Tokyo on the 25th, and two days later Fuji TV aired SNSD’s performance at Mezamashi Live for the summer outdoor show.

In the video, a male reporter walks around interviewing various fans. One fan girl sitting on the floor waiting for the performance was so excited that she was cheering ‘SNSD’ while their music video was playing, and even before the performance started, the poor fan girl had already lost her voice.

The fan girl stated, “My voice isn’t coming out, SNSD isn’t even out here yet but even just watching their video… even with just their video I am happy.”

The reporter asked, “Shouldn’t you rest a bit?”, but the fan girl ignored him and screamed out “Jessica!” and “SNSD!”.

Netizens who watched the video was fascinated by the fangirl, leaving comments such as, “I didn’t know the passion of these fans waiting for SNSD was this great”, “Seeing a fan girl being so happy about them is quite unusual”.

Eric’s management told Star News, “Eric is determined to put in his best efforts in his work until his last day as a public service officer. He has already received offers from 3 or 4 dramas so far and will consider carefully before he chooses his comeback project.”

Fellow Shinhwa member Kim Dongwan (31) will also be discharged from his duties in November this year. Enlisted in November 2008, he has been serving as a public service officer at the Seodaemun District Office.

2NE1 kicking it off at Inkigayo

Having revealed yesterday that 2NE1 was in the midst of filming for their comeback MV for one of their title tracks, Go Away, more information about their comeback stage on music shows were revealed today as the countdown to their comeback in two weeks time draws near.

According to officials from Inkigayo, 2NE1 will make their much anticipated comeback first through SBS Inkigayo on September 12th where they will perform their 3 title tracks.

There is much anticipation as it has been a long time since 2NE1 greeted their fans on stage with new music after their single albums. Their first studio album will be out on September 9th.

The two remaining title tracks for 2NE1’s comeback have yet to be decided.

SECRET caught in a plagiarism controversy

Girl group, SECRET, has definitely gotten their name up there with their new song, Madonna, however, they seem to have gotten into another plagiarism controversy and this time, it’s not themselves.

On a Korean portal site, a new thread about the group plagiarizing is receiving much attention. The thread states, “I think SECRET plagiarized a track that my friend featured in.”

The two songs that are being compared are SECRET’s 3 Years 6 Months (from their first digital single album) and Bad Woman by an indie singer called Yae Han. There is about a year difference between the release dates, as SECRET released the song in October 2009 and Yae Han in December 2008. A video was included as proof, and the songs do happen to be similar. Check it out here.

Netizens have been stating that since indie singers are generally not well known to the public as much, it is easy for idol groups to plagiarize them with no issues.

Yae Han, who was surprised with the issue, stated, “I got wind about this in June, and contacted the entertainment company in July, explaining to them about the problem. It has been a month since but I still haven’t gotten a reply from them regarding this.”

On the other hand, SECRET’s company, TS Entertainment, stated, “We have contacted the song producer and he has responded that it was an absurd allegation. He even has the original file and the date it was created (November 18th, 2008, 1pm) and think that it’s strange that the plagiarism accusations have come up long after the song’s release. In addition, the documents (from Yae Han) was sent to his previous office (song producer) and not his current one, explaining the non-response.”

SS501 member Kim Hyung Jun just signed a new contract with new company and advancing on his individual career. He disclosed that he often searchs for his related news on the web, increasing viewing rates, in order to increase his popularity.

Kim Hyung Jun came to Singapore to hold a showcase and "Meet-and-Greet" session with fans yesterday. During the interview in the evening, he was asked if it is true that he will search for his related news online as per mentioned in some reports previously.

Hyper Hyung Jun smiled and spoke in English:"Yes that's true. Search me please!", after he heard the translated questions from his translator.

He continued through his translator:"i often search for my related news online, because i felt that it is required as an artiste, especially at the current state when i am doing individual activities. I hope will my fans will also do the same".

Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-in will be visiting Australia for her solo debut song.

On August 31st, a representative for the Brown Eyed Girls revealed, “Ga-in will follow behind Narsha as the second member to release a solo album…That time will be in late September at the earliest, and in October at the latest.”

He continued, “Ga-in’s first solo album will be a mini album…For this, Ga-in will leave for Australia on September 2nd to spend a week filming her first solo album music video in various locations there.“

Japan's "Girl Group Wave" is in the rise, and now, girl group 2NE1 debuting in Japan has garnered attention as the "Female TVXQ."

According to officials, recently, Japan's Avex, TVXQ's Japan entertainment agency, was known to keep in touch with 2NE1's entertainment agency officals. Super Junior Yesung has joined as a MC on "The Muzit" which is hosted by Yoo Youngsuk and K.Will.

Yesung has joined cable TV Trendy "The Muzit" as a MC and received a passing mark with his good hosting skills in his first filming.

Yesung who wanted to be a MC on a music program said, "I want to become a MC who can communicate well musically with the musicians and the viewers." revealing his aspiration.

Yesung sang his solo "It has to be you" and also performed with Super Junior unit KRY members. Member Ryeowook and Kyuhyun congratulated Yesung on becoming a MC for the first time and held a surprise party for him, showing off their comradeship.

2NE1 reveals the title of 2nd comeback track!

2NE1 is scheduled to be promoting three songs at once with the release of their first full length album in September and it’s already been announced that one of their title tracks is called Go Away.

Their name of their second title track was revealed today and it is called Can’t Nobody. YG’s rep said, “The second of the three songs is called Can’t Nobody. The title coincidentally shares the word ‘nobody’ with Wonder Girls’ Nobody but the song itself isn’t anything like it at all.”

YG-Life Reveals 2NE1 Official Track List and Will.i.am

It’s a good thing that YG Entertainment’s CEO and founder, Yang Hyun Suk, decided to officially open the long awaited YG-Life blog, because fans have been anticipating something like this for a long time!

The blog officially opened today, September 1st at 2.01pm (KST), and it can be found at both www.yg-life.com and www.yg-life.co.kr. It was made specifically so that artists can develop a closer relationship with fans by posting exclusive videos and photos daily.

You’ll get to learn more about your favorite artists, including 2NE1, Big Bang, Se7en, Gummy, Teddy, Sean, and more!

Along with the blog’s debut, exclusive photos for 2NE1’s long awaited comeback on September 9th were revealed, and the full tracklisting for their first full-length album was released. Although we’re already aware of two out of the three comeback title tracks (Go Away & Can’t Nobody), the rest can now be viewed below.

Narsha faints. Everyone did not see this coming and are shocked!

It was reported that Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha fainted while recording Invincible Youth today.

On the 1st of September, her company, Nega Network announced that while recording Invincible Youth, she fainted around 10:30am. The staff of the show then sent Narsha to the hospital immediately.

Her state of health will determined at the hospital after getting checked by doctors.

She probably fainted from fatigue because she has a daily radio show, Raise The Volume, Mamma Mia promotions, Heroes and Invincible Youth to contend with.

SISTAR’s Miss Korea dance is gaining popularity

SISTAR’s new track, Shady Girl, seems to be doing quite well.

The song has a simple choreography, but that’s what fans seem to love.

In one part of the dance, the girls walk in place like Miss Korea pageant nominees. Fans are calling this the MiKo (abbreviated) dance.

I knew that dance would become popular because it definitely stands out. The choreographer, DQ, who has worked with Rain, 4minute, MBLAQ, and BEAST, said, “SISTAR’s MiKo dance was inspired by models’ catwalks. It’s feminine and cute, which goes well with SISTAR.”

Celebrity couple, Se7en and Park Han Byul’s relationship is no jaw-dropper. Photos of the couple, roaming around the streets and being completely chill with the admirable stares from the crowd, make other secretive celebrity couples quite jealous. Se7en has already expressed his unconditional love for his girlfriend through various variety shows, and he opened up to talk about it once again on the recent episode of Strong Heart.

Se7en shared the very moment when he first met Park Han Byul:

“I met her when I was in 8th grade of junior high. While I was heading over to the YG Entertainment building, I spotted a girl practicing some dance moves while wearing athletic wear. Upon looking at this girl with straight black hair, it was love at first sight”

“I still remember how she looked like at that exact moment. She was giving off a glow.”

The couple has been together for 8 years now, and still standing strong. Prior to their debuts, going on public dates weren’t a problem. After keeping their special relationship hidden for a while, several of their couple photos leaked onto the internet. In turn, Se7en and Park Han Byul officially confirmed, last year, that they were an item.

Se7en also revealed the reason why he decided to announce his relationship with Park Han Byul:

“Things got a little out of hand with the scandal (from the photos), and it troubled Park Han Byul. Every night, when I talked with her on the phone, she would start crying. There really wasn’t anything that I could do since I was in the states during that time. After I finally announced our relationship, Park Han Byul and I feel more comfortable”

Recent paparazzi photos have been floating around various portal sites of Se7en and Park Han Byul going on a date in ApGuJung.

Upon receiving a lot of hot attention and love for their debut track, Clap, Teen Top’s C.A.P and L. Joe are the next runner-ups for the virtual dating program, Mnet Scandal. Through the upcoming episode that is set to air on the 1st, the gents went on a sweet date with their ulzzang ‘girlfriends’.

The two couples went on a double date outing to a valley, where L. Joe and his ‘girlfriend’ flirtatiously splashed water at each other and engaged in spontaneous skinship. On the other hand, C.A.P used his bare fist to crack open a watermelon, further pitting the two into a competitive charm battle.
