Idol group 2AM member JoKwon recounts an episode with WonderGirls SunYe.

2AM was on KBS Joy ‘Pretty Boys Carriage’ when Jo Kwon was asked if he has looked at WonderGirls SunYe with feelings as an opposite gender. Jo Kwon said, “Even though I am close with SunYe, I didn’t have any feelings as a guy. The reason is that SunYe has first warned me not to look at her with feelings as a guy.”

With that the MC asked what was the meaning of that, and JoKwon said, “From SunYe’s way of saying it and her actions, it seems that she did not look at me as an opposite gender. SunYe and I have been training under producer Park Jin Young for 8 years, we have become like a family instead.”

And about intimacy with ex-WonderGirls member, he said, “HyunA and I, we keep in contact often. I guess we will get better as entertainers for the days to come.”

This episode of the show will be aired on 30th July.

Son Dam-bi has lost 3-4kg for the new drama, "Dream - Drama".

Son is the Taebo master, Lee So-yeon in the drama for which Son practiced Taebo for 6 hours everyday for three months. She is a pop star whom we all know was a workaholic practicing her moves for 16 hours a day. It was the same hard work that brought such praise in her acting skills in her starting scenes of the drama.

Son had said that it was very hard in the beginning. She thought that it might be easier than dance practices but she was wrong. However, she had always worked out that her body was able to handle the pressure. Let's watch her great acting!

Choi Han Bit is the First Korean Transgender Supermodel

For the past 20 days during the SBS "Open Hall" supermodel contest, many beautiful Korean women have been competing for the chance to become a supermodel. Choi Han Bit, a Korean transgender, has advanced to the finals of this competition. A spot in the finals is an almost guaranteed ticket to becoming a supermodel, regardless of the outcome of the contest. Korean news sites such as Naver and Donga have already proclaimed her as the first domestic transgender supermodel.

She had lots of people to thank and things to say during her speech, especially her parents.

"Looking back, the situation I'm in would have seemed impossible to me as a child. I'm just so happy to be here right now and I want to become a dignified supermodel as well as a great role model. I would like to thank my parents for actively supporting me through the surgery and the pursuit of my dreams."

When asked if she would like to be a celebrity, she said that she did not want to use her transgender status to become a celebrity, but would rather become a celebrity through her hard work and passion.

Concluding her speech she said, "I would like to send a message to any other transgenders. Be dignified and proud of who you are."

To me, she seems to have the right stuff. A humble attitude and genuine sincerity are always good attributes in a superstar. I'm sure that whatever ends up happening, she will be one of the more positively viewed celebrities in Korea.

The finals will be held in Kyung Nam on September 25th.

Ever wonder why we don’t hear anything about Hyun Bin in the rumor mill? Well, the actor would rather just keep his mouth shut about his personal life.

In a recent interview with Star News, Hyun Bin stated that he doesn’t disclose any personal information about girlfriends, family or anything else dear to his heart. The secretive actor prefers that his fans don’t cross over to his personal life. Being secretive a la Keanu Reeves will only feed speculation. For example, if he is so tight lipped, we can only assume that he is hiding a girlfriend or even gay (not that it matters)….. but that’s how rumors start.

So is it better for stars to be open about their personal lives or secretive like Hyun Bin?

Female group KARA memer Nicole appearing much skinnier than before has gathered much interests from netizens.

Netizens called it ‘transformation after 14 days’, comparing Nicole’s photos before and after these 14 days – and from the photos she did looked like she has lost much weight.

KARA’s company came out to say, “To prepare for their new album, not only Nicole, the other members all went on a diet. They did it through diet control and exercise, and they all lost about 3-4kg. The members are very satisfied with their new looks.”

While KARA fans have been posted on Nicole’s minihompy messages like ‘Nicole, you must eat alright?” etc. Netizens also commented, “Nicole looked cute before her diet”, “It seems like she went through pain with this diet, but her hardworking features are pretty too” etc.

DBSK to release live DVD version of Mirotic concert

On 30th July, Dong Bang Shin Ki will be releasing the DVD verssion of their THE 3RD TVXQ Asia Tour Mirotic Concert.

The DVD album is an exclusive look into their concert which was held on February 20th-22nd in the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium. The album will have 2CDs consisting of concert versions of their new songs in Japan, an introduction of the concert, their explosive live performances and behind the scenes of the concert.

In addition, the album will also show members Yunho, Xiah, Changmin, Jaejoong and Micky on stage introducing themselves with witty lines and mingling with their fans at the concert.

Also, the DVD version will include the Korean version and lyrics to their new Japanese song “Song For U” as well as other bonus tracks.

Lena Park to finish university degree; on music hiatus

Singer Lena Park (Park JungHyun) has put her singer activities to rest to pursue further studies in the States.

Currently majoring in English literature in an university in Columbia*, Park Jung Hyun is left with 2 more semesters to complete her 4-years course. But for her singer activities, she was back in Korea last year for recording works. She has left Korea for the States on 22nd July and will be staying there till she finish her study course.

Park JungHyun said, “It’s long when you say it’s long, its short when you say it is a short period, I was worried if everyone will forget about me after this. But I wanted to complete my studies and come back with new music and mentality. I will be back end of the year for a while to hold a public performance.”

Lena Park will end her singer activities for now with her appearance on MBC ‘Music Journey La La La’ to be aired on 29th July.

Yang Hyeon Seok: “G-Dragon’s solo album will be out this summer!”

According to Yang Hyeon Seok, Big Bang’s G-Dragon will be releasing his first solo album on August 18th.

In recent episodes of Mnet 2NE1 TV, YG entertainment’s Yang Hyeon Seok had announced, "Ji Yong will be releasing his solo album on August 18."

He said, “Kwon Ji Yong’s album was produced by he himself alone, unlike Big Bang’s albums which were produced together with me. He is ready to release his completed album this summer.”

“Currently about 9 songs are done. I like them a lot, listening to them everyday. It’s like he is going to sweep this summer away.”

Big Bang leader G-Dragon will release his debut solo album on the same day as his 21st birthday.

He had originally planned to release his solo album in April this year, but it was postponed because he had to take a break due to stress and fatigue. Meanwhile, Seungri and Daesung will also be releasing their solo albums soon.

SM Entertainment said on 30th July, “The girls’ 2nd minialbum released on 29th June has sold over 100,497 copies as of 28th July.” This will make it their 3rd 100k album sales after their 1st album and 1st minialbum.
