Ever wonder why we don’t hear anything about Hyun Bin in the rumor mill? Well, the actor would rather just keep his mouth shut about his personal life.

In a recent interview with Star News, Hyun Bin stated that he doesn’t disclose any personal information about girlfriends, family or anything else dear to his heart. The secretive actor prefers that his fans don’t cross over to his personal life. Being secretive a la Keanu Reeves will only feed speculation. For example, if he is so tight lipped, we can only assume that he is hiding a girlfriend or even gay (not that it matters)….. but that’s how rumors start.

So is it better for stars to be open about their personal lives or secretive like Hyun Bin?

I think it's really complicated.

On one hand, it's good for the emotional well-being of the star and the people around them because what other people don't know can't be judged/bashed on.

On the other hand, people will begin to miss/forget about this person. And the star might not be as popular thus.

There are still those stars who keep a low profile but still remain popular though. Okay, I'm so contradictory.

BUT IMO, I'll be happy no matter what the stars choose, as long as they don't do something like: O HAI! NEW TATTIE ON RIGHT BUTTCHEEK! *MOONS THE WORLD* Things like that don't have to be told.

Their personal life being kept a secret can benefit them. (:

ia, allkpop gets a lot of hate but i find popseoul a million times more obnoxious, especially because of the fact that they do get things blatantly wrong around half the time.

Allkpop is full of a lot of hate, Popseoul is full of a lot of ignorance. :| Ugh, they both suck.

Kbites is good because it's mostly just facts with little commentary. Dramabeans is good because the commentary is actually good. :( But we still need better kpop blogs that aren't such trash.

yeah, kbites is probably the best because of the lack of commentary. i get that everyone feels the need to be "witty" or something, but it's like we have to choose from rude, gross, or stupid to get our info. :(

Yeah. :/ It's one thing to make fun of a celeb because they do something stupid, but when every single blog entry is so hateful... Ugh it's just overdone and tasteless. This is where I actually prefer soompi, because you can just pluck the information out and not have to include any stupidity. :|

idk, er, i love the fact that i've been a fan of hyunbin for years because of his acting and his work, not because the tmi details of his life. i mean, i love that aspect of pop culture too, tbh, but... what's the big deal? why does being tight-lipped mean he's hiding something and not, you know, that he'd rather just be known for his work?
