"Thirst" at San Diego Comic Con

Filmmaker Park Chan-wook will make an appearance at this year's San Diego Comic Con.
Focus Features and Comic-Con present a rare U.S. appearance by acclaimed Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook, whose "scandalous vampire melodrama" Thirst just won the Prix du Jury (Jury Prize) at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival. Sang-hyun (played by top Korean star Song Kang-ho, of The Host) is a priest who cherishes life; so much so, that he selflessly volunteers for a secret vaccine development project meant to eradicate a deadly virus. But the virus takes the priest, and a blood transfusion is urgently ordered for him. The blood he receives is infected, so he lives—but now exists as a vampire. Sang-hyun soon plunges into a world of sensual pleasures, finding himself on intimate terms with the Seven Deadly Sins. Park will show clips from the movie— which opens in select cities on July 31—and discuss his career.
For those wanting to attend the panel will take place Thursday, July 24 at 6:30 PM in Hall H.

Music site Monkey3 (www.monkey3.co.kr) did a survey recently on males and females in their twenties on ‘The song you wish to listen on a rainy day.’
And SG Wannabe’s ‘Watercolours of a rainy day’ got #1 on the survey with 45% of the votes. This is a remake of songs sung by late 80s singers Kim HyunSik, Kwon InHa and Kang InWon.
#2 goes to RumbleFish’s ‘Rain and You’, the song was used for movie ‘Radio Show’. And Epik High and YounHa’s collaboration ‘Umbrella’ was voted #3, a great song with the harmony of YounHa’s sensational voice and Epik High’s rap.

Showing off BoA, TVXQ, Big Bang, SNSD, 2PM, etc, who have led the music industry for all ages of audience, they will be on a talk show about their secret life. The channel that would be airing this talk show is MBC’s every1 new variety show, “21st Generation Idol Army.” The host would be talking about stars who debuted big like BoA, Rain, Se7en, TVXQ, Wonder girls, SNSD, Super Junior and more, showing pictures and videos of them when they were trainees and about to debuting.
There would be a broadcast of their hit songs and their fans support.
The 10th of July was the first broadcast featuring Big Bang & Shinhwa, from their debut era to their recent activities, doing a comparison. Having to depend on the fans to deliver food such as seaweed rice (T/N: O.O!) to make it through in life, because their looks weren’t the best and got rejected by the music industry, music group SG wannabe will talk about their sorrows together with the other stars.
Furthermore, the show would be introducing artistes’ debut hairstyles and fashion trends, creating a stir in the fashion industry. “21st Generation Idol Army” started last 10th July, 6PM.

On July 7th of 2008, Han Ye Rin was caught physically abusing two classmates with the help of seven of her own posse for three hours. Han Ye Rin was only 14 years old, and she is well-known for her minor roles in popular dramas like New Heart, Seven Princesses, and Hello God, as well as roles in various movies. The reason of the physical abuse? Han Ye Rin shortened her school skirt and was afraid of getting caught, so she borrowed the skirt from one of the girls and never returned it. The owner of the skirt told the monitor, and Han Ye Rin and her short-temper garnered her friends and beat the girl up. Now, that was last year's story.

After falling off from a swing and injuring her leg in the recent teaser video shooting, Brown Eyed Girls Narsha gets into another accident. This time she and the other members were injured when one of the lightings fell off when the girls were shooting for their MV.
Their company said, “Even though the girls have injured themselves during the filming of the MV to their upcoming title song, which has been receiving overwhelming responses from fans, they had showed a strong will and had continued with the filming of the MV. And it is fortunate that they did not suffer from any major injuries.”

Park Han Byul, who has been dating singer Se7en (real name Choi Dong Wook), recently shared her secret about the 7 years relationship she’s having currently. In the late night music program, Kim Jung Eun’s Chocolate aired on July 11, along with Younha and Sum Gye Eun, Park Han Byul appeared as one of the guests.
Since they both have admitted about their relationship, Park Han Byul mentioned that to have a popular boyfriend like Se7en is a pain. “Though I’ve dreamed of this moment for se7en years, now that it has happened, it doesn’t seem that I’m that happy about it. I’m being careful,” she expressed openly in front of the audience that night.
And the secret of maintaining 7 years of love, Park Han Byul mentioned about compatibility in their personalities at first. Then, it’s important to know when to push and to pull; when to follow the other person’s wishes, and when to stand firm.

TVXQ's "Mirotic" Tour arrived in Beijing, receiving a standing ovation from 40,000 Chinese audiences.
Besides the Seoul, Nanjing, and Bangkok concerts — on 11th July, at 7.30pm, "TVXQ The 3rd Asia Tour Concert Mirotic In Beijing" was held the Beijing Workers' Stadium, garnering explosive cheers from an audience of 40,000 people.
A thing to note is that the large-scale Beijing Workers' Stadium is used only by mega-stars like Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung for their solo concerts.
On the day of the concert, for the audience's safety, 3,200 Chinese policemen were deployed, once again proving that TVXQ is the top group in Asia.
TVXQ started the concert with "Hey!", "Are You A Good Girl" and "Rising Sun". Besides performing the songs in their 4th album, they also included hit songs like "Hug" and "Balloon", as well as the members' solo performances, performing a total of 26 songs. Unable to escape from TVXQ's charm, MIROTIC has captured the attention of fans from around the world.
Not only did the Chinese fans use red light sticks for TVXQ, they also prepared different coloured light sticks for each and every members' solo performance, creating eye-catching images.
Throughout the concert, the audience stood in their seats dancing along with TVXQ, and reacting enthusiastically, letting one fully experience the charm of cheering together with the crowd.
After the performance, TVXQ expressed their thoughts on the concert, "Coming back after a year to have a concert in Beijing, we're really thankful to keep receiving such warm cheers. Once again, we're able to feel the love from the Chinese fans, and we really treasure the time we have spent together."

Psy Discharged From Military

Singer and rapper Psy has finally returned from his military service.
The 31-year-old singer was re-drafted into the military as active duty after it was found that he neglected his duties during his previous service from 2003-2005. He began his second tern in August 2007.
"It's like a dream and I am so happy," he said at the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan, Seoul.
After being congratulated by fellow celebrity soldiers including singers Tony An and Kim Jae-deok, and actor Kim Jae-won, Psy added that he "realized that time always passes, and I learned a lot."
He also joked that despite having participated in two separate military services, he had not lost much weight.
