Dong Bang Shin Ki’s representative said on the 13th, “We have not received any proposals for drama acting. There are no plans for him to act in dramas yet.”

There has been rumors recently that Dong Bang Shin Ki UKnow YunHo will be acting in a drama and fans are greatly interested in it. Especially with reports that UKnow YunHo is very likely cast for dramas ‘미남이시네요’ and ‘절대그이’ on 13th July. But SM has confirmed that there are no plans for him to do dramas as for now.

Rumors that UKnow YunHo will act in dramas have actually surfaced a long time back. Many would want to know how the member of the one of the biggest boybands in Korea acting in a drama would be like.

Meanwhile, Dong Bang Shin Ki member Hero JaeJoong has acted in the drama ‘Heaven’s Postman’ for a his acting debut. It is said that the drama will air the later half of this year.

FT Island Starring in Musical "Grease" This Time?

5 member idol band “FT Island” reveals one of their album jacket photos today, with the concept of the musical “Grease“.

Also named as “Jeans Jeans Look“, the band portrays a carefree and rebellious image and it gathers lots of attention on their music as well as fashion sense for this album.

Following the release of the teaser on 10th July, the album jacket photos which portray various image concepts from the basic cute and young images to manly and matured images are sure to draw lots of interest from the public.

Their music style from the new album titled “Cross & Change” will focus mainly on crossover and will consist of bright and light-beat songs. The album will be a combination of the members’ upgraded playing skills as well as matured vocals.

On the other hand, FT Island will be releasing their album on 16th July. A full version of their music video will also be released on the same day at various online music sites as well as their official homepage. They will officially comeback on SBS Inkigayo on 19th July.

There has been rumours that this new girl group, said to be named Crystal, that SM Entertainment is set to debut will debut within this year.

There are also rumours that they have recently had their showcase this month. And following that of their seonbae SHINee and So Nyeo Shi Dae, they are expected to debut in a few months’ time.

There has been many discussions online about this new girl group. And they are said to be the group which SM will send to China for activities, with So Nyeo Shi Dae securing the girlgroup crown in Korea.

Some revealed online that the girls had their official before-debut showcase on 7th July. And like how SHINee and So Nyeo Shi Dae had debuted a few months after their before-debut showcase, they are said to be debuting this year.

Lee Junki enjoys quite a lot of popularity in Japan, so it’s no wonder he’s going back for another set of fan concerts. He’ll be at Kobe Kokusai Hall and Pacifico Yokohama National Conventional Hall on July 18 and 19 for the events, which also commemorate the reopening of official Japanese fan club “Splendor.”

Lee Junki was last in Japan in October 2008; he also put out a single album (in Korea) called “J Style” in April. However, Japanese fans will get the unique chance to buy a J Style Special Edition DVD, which will go on sale only for attendees of the fan concerts.

Lee Junki has attracted fans in Japan for previous roles in films like Fly Daddy Fly and The King and the Clown, but his popularity grew when his SBS drama series Iljimae showed last year on Japanese satellite channel So-net TV. It began re-airing on broadcast airwaves last month, and will enjoy a third airing starting August 25 on the satellite channel devoted to Korean entertainment, Mnet. Mnet will also begin airing his 2007 thriller drama Time of Dog and Wolf beginning August 1, as well as his Episode 2: The Mask “global fanmeeting” that took place in April in Seoul.

Nam Sang-mi’s supernatural horror thriller

Nam Sang-mi’s newest is a mystery horror film, which is literally translated to Faithless Hell [불신지옥, Bulshin Jiok] (which may not be the eventual English title it takes on). It has now fixed upon a release date in the prime summer horror season: August 13.

The film had initially been named Scream [비명], but I think the newer title is more apt for the cult-related storyline; the movie is described as a religious supernatural horror. (eep! That just happens to be the brand of horror I most fear.) Nam Sang-mi plays a woman whose religious younger sister goes missing, and the subsequent search leads her to deeper secrets and more people’s deaths.

Nam Sang-mi has starred in numerous dramas (Gourmet, Time of Dog and Wolf, Bad Family, Sweet Spy), but this will be her first lead film role. It sounds like the movie was a bit of a physical strain: while filming, she sustained injuries to discs in her back and her ankle. Co-starring is Ryu Seung-ryong (Level 7 Civil Servant, Painter of the Wind) as a police detective, and child actress Shim Eun-kyung (Legend, Hwang Jini) again flexes her horror muscles (she was in the 2007 horror film Hansel & Gretel), playing a normal-looking girl who mysteriously begins to predict people’s deaths following a car accident.

MyungCaDrive's "Naengmyun", which was revealed at the MBC "Infinity Challenge" Olympic Highway Duet Song Festival, is becoming a hit on both on- and offline-charts.

"Naengmyun", which is sung by MyungCaDrive (Park Myungsoo - So Nyuh Shi Dae Jessica), went up to No.1 on the current Cyworld real time charts. It's even at the point that some fans are talking nonsense like "Jessica beat So Nyuh Shi Dae's song".

MyungCaDrive was created through Park Myungsoo personally contacting Jessica. Park Myungsoo had chosen his partner Jessica personally. In a recent interview with Newsen, Jessica said laughingly: "Park Myungsoo contacted me personally. The "Infinity Challenge" members could choose all their partners personally and Park Myungsoo came to me with the idea that he wants to do it with me. I was very thankful."

Furthermore, she said: "It was really fun recording it. Park Myungsoo always sang the song perfectly. I was surprised. It was a pleasant duet harmony."

News have came that one of the 2009 hottest solo singers Son DamBi will form a project group with group After School.
A photo to the project group was revealed showing the strong image of the new project group.

Amidst her busy schedule filming for SBS drama ‘Dream’, Son DamBi has been working late nights for this project group. After School has also stopped work for their new album so as to prepare for this project group.

Son DamBi and After School, “We learnt a lot from each other through preparing for this project group, and we enjoyed the process of preparing for it.”

Meannwhile, the secret project group will be revealed through Pledis coming 16th July.

Model Lee Sora has showned her special affection for SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong.

She was on MBC ‘Come to play’ aired on 13th July where she was asked “If you are 10 years younger, who do you want to go after?” and she has chosen SS501 Kim Hyun Joong.

She said, “I recently attended an event where SS501 was there too. I wanted to see Kim Hyun Joong much and I even went around asking where he was in the dressing room.”

“But he was not in the dressing room. But I met SS501 in the hallway where we chatted happily with the staff, but Kim Hyun Joong was not there. In the end I only saw him on stage singing and after that the event ended.”

She continued, “But on our way back to Seoul, we spotted the car that SS501 was in. In a rush, I told my manager, ‘Follow them!’.” causing laughter in the audience.

LPG 2nd Generation’s song ‘Jang DongGun Lee Hyori’ unfit for broadcast?

It’s a rough headstart for group LPG 2nd generation.

They recently released a single ‘Jang DongGun Lee Hyori’ which has caught the attention of many. But it has been deem unfit for broadcast for KBS. The song has received its go-ahead from MBC and SBS.

KBS has deemed the song unfit on reasons that the song title itself is misleading as it has included the names of famous people. LPG 2nd Generation’s company has no way to it as if they take out the names from the title, the story line to the lyrics would still show the names.

They have currently amended the song lyrics and has sent it for re-examination from KBS.

Singer Rain to Help Hansik Globalization

Singer Rain will join Korea's efforts to help the world enjoy its indigenous food, other wise known as "hansik."

The international acclaimed singer, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, was appointed Monday as a point man for the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in leading the hansik globalization initiative.

"Hansik is seriously making its debut on the world stage but, with Rain's help, it will in no time become food everybody can enjoy, like the world enjoying Rain's music," Minister Chang Tae-pyong said, while presenting the singer with a plaque and certificate at his office in the Gacheon Government Complex.

The minister said that Rain would participate in hansik banquets for foreign dignitaries and help them to learn and enjoy Korean food.

Rain will serve as "Hansik Ambassador" for the next year, starring in promotional videos and taking part in related events. His hit number, "I do," was played as background music during the ceremony and for a video clip entitled, "Rain Soaked in the Beauty of Hansik."

A ministry official said that inviting Rain to assist in the globalization of hansik shows that Korea is very serious about turning the food industry into its future growth engine.

Under Minister Chang's leadership, Korea is pushing hard with a variety of related efforts from the standardization of hansik dishes to the provision of incentives for big hotels to open up hansik restaurants. In the ministry's annual food expo in October, a competition is scheduled for new and aspiring chefs.

Will Korean singers appeal to American audience?

Initiated by Rain's world tour concert in 2005, Korean pop singers are trying to break the U.S. entertainment industry. But it remains yet to be seen whether Korean pop stars will be able to be as successful as they are in Korea.

Pop star Rain has repeatedly made forays into the North American continent as a potential Hollywood star. His first Hollywood movie, "Speed Racer," (2008) paved the way for him to star in "Ninja Assassin," (2009). The new movie, upon its release in November, is expected to strongly influence his potential performance as a singer in the United States.

Another Korean pop sensation, Se7en entered the U.S. music field in 2006, following his Japanese debut in 2005. After three years of preparation, the singer released his first single, "Girls," in March. But despite his solid Asian fan base, Se7en still does not have much recognition in the United States.

Having achieved stardom in Japan, BoA moved her way on to America in 2008. In March, the singer represented her first official U.S. album, titling "I Did It for Love." Currently, BoA is promoting her album by touring the country, appearing on radio shows and performing.

Lately, Wonder Girls made their debut in the United States, with English version of "Nobody," a mega-hit song in Korea. Last month Wonder Girls began their tour opening for Jonas Brothers, in front of tens of thousands of people each night.

This was the interview after his first performance of 7 Years of Love last June 16, 2009 at Yoo Young Suk's 20th Anniversary Album Showcase. As you know, we subbed two fancams (Gyuto's and Secret's), this is the Gyuto's version, where you can see both Kyu and YYS and both their reactions during the interview, especially Kyuhyun's 90-degree bow to the latter when he was being praised. LOL. Respectful dork. LOL. Kyu's being his witty self again during the interview, albeit being all nervous and shy. (Kyuhyun-ah, you should build your self-confidence soon, you're meant for these big stages. :D )

A 37 second preview for upcoming SBS drama Dream starring Son Dambi, Kim Bum, and Joo Jin Mo is finally out!

Summary of the drama: Kim Bum’s character is named Lee Jang Seok, a tough guy who has spent time in a juvenile detention centre for pickpocketing. As he gets involved in mixed martial arts, he meets sports agent Nam Je Yeol (Joo Jin Mo) by chance. The two embark on a difficult journey to reach the top. Son Dam Bi will play Park So Yeon, a 27-year-old Tae Bo instructor at her father’s martial arts centre. Her character has a strong image, and discovers martial arts athletes who have the potential to go pro.

Dream will not only be holding a press conference in Korea on July 20-21st, but will also be holding one in Japan as well on the 22nd. This will be the first Korean drama to hold promotions in Japan prior to actual release. This is due to the excessive Japanese craze and interest for Kim Bum, who drew a lot of attention after release of Boys Over Flowers.

Wang Xiao Shuai, the Director that made billions in box offices on every movie he makes, reporters have heard yesterday, his new project has a budget of more than 60,000,000 RMB, the story takes place in WenChuang Earthquake Surroundings, to shoot a romance movie. This movie will start shooting in October 5th at ChongQing, the Cast will be in the times of WenChuang.

The guy that told us this piece of news is a Producer of this movie; Hai De. He came back from ChongQing yesterday to Beijing. He introduced that he made the script. He expressed that this movie will be a romantic epic film. “Very Romantic, Story is similar to that of , I wrote it because of the disaster my friend experienced during WenChuang Earthquake.”

Hai De also said: “When I wrote the script, I kept Su Yin in my mind to relive her script.” Regarding the actors and actresses in this film, Jiang Yi Yan; Tang Ma; Gao Yuan Yuan and other actors that feels right will be invited, as for Male lead he specified that he wants Hangeng.
Also, Liu Jia Ling, who’s coming back after getting married, is also on the invitation list.

Korean group So Nyeo Shi Dae has been selected by foreigers as the best female singers on Arirang TV ‘Showbiz Extra’. And the survey was done on over 3000 viewers from the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore and America, etc. in over 60 countries.

And Super Junior is chosen as #1 for best male singers.
