Kim Joon to take on musical

Boys Over Flowers Kim Joon will take on musical.

After receiving much popularity acting as Song WooBin in KBS hit drama Boys Over Flowers and as a member of singer group T Max, he is casted for musical titled ‘Youth’s Journey’.

‘Youth’s Journey’ is a manga remake talking about Yeong ShimEe talking about the 33 years of his growing up, and will feature songs like Lee Seung Chul’s ‘Last Concert’, Lee Moon Sae’s ‘Flying into the deep blue night’, and Hyun Ji Yeon’s ‘You in the fading memory’ etc.

After the drama Boys Over Flowers ended, Kim Joon has not only been busy promoting within Korea but also overseas. And this will be his first attempt at musical.

He is double casted as the male lead together with Lee Jin Hoon who also did the musical Singles, and Lee Jung Mi and Kim Ji Woo have been casted as the female leads.

The musical will take place from 18th till 25th July.

SS501 1st Asia tour concert tickets sold out in 30 minutes in 1st window

The tickets were sold out in just 30 minutes for SS501 first Asia tour Seoul concert performances 1st window sales.

SS501 will be performing in Seoul on 1st and 2nd August for their ‘THE 1st ASIA TOUR PERSONA’ concert.

Tickets were sold out 30 minutes after the 1st window sales were opened. It was said that the traffic on the online ticket sales site increasedly significantly when the sales opened.

SS501 also spoke up about this, “We are very impressed by our fans especially since this is our first Asian tour. We will showcase our best at the performances.”

The 2nd window for ticket sales will take place end-June.

A member at Liyin's Baidu posted news about her MV(s) for her upcoming 2nd Chinese album.

I believe most of us here have already heard about Liyin’s second album, MV will be filmed soon
A Korean friend of mine told me that SM is figuring out a suitable place for the MV filming.
Ballad will be the music style as usual, it will shows Liyin’s ability in singing high-pitched notes
After discussion, predetermined location would be at Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, where most dramas or movies filming took place.
Because it is a historical place, Such as shops, streets, railroad and streetcar are very ancient
Aside from this, they also plan to take view at another trendy place
I will not disclose the exact location, but we will see Donghae when the MV is filming, haha.
The concept of the MV is most likely to reflect the differences between ancient and modern, it’s amazing
I am impressed with the Korean PD, it’s such an awesome idea.
However, all of these are predetermined, I don’t know and also unsure what is the final decision.
As we all know SM tends to make changes
At least that’s what my friend read from the proposal
Alright, I will pay a visit again if I get any news.

And the webmistress of Wansonyeo replied directly afterwards: MV filming will start on June 23rd.

V.O.S joins the hallyu wave

Group V.O.S will officially begin their overseas promotion in China with a fan meeting on June 12th and concert at ‘Yun-gil College’ on the 13th.

This will be the trio’s first overseas concert after their showcase in Shanghai two years ago. For the upcoming concert, V.O.S will perform their new track, ‘In Trouble’ as well as 15 other songs. Already, The trio has performed at over 100 concerts in Korea and proved their staying power and talent. So, winning over the hearts of those in China shouldn’t be so big of a stretch. After their promotional activities in China are over, the group plans on holding another concert in Japan some time in August.

V.O.S’s new track, ‘In Trouble’ has garnered a lot of attention since the day it was released (and is actually a great track to sing at the norae-bang). Here’s a recent clip of the boys singing ‘In Trouble’ at Sweet Sorrow’s Ten Ten Club radio program. Choi Hyun-joon never fails to impress with his vocals and it’s amazing how Park Ji-hun can hit those high notes (around the 2:57 mark).

A look at the movie-turned-drama, Friend (Chingoo)

When the public heard the news that one of Korea's most well-known movie of all time, "Friend (Chingoo)" was going to be made into a drama, the reactions were half and half. Some were ecstatic about remaking the movie into a drama, but many were afraid that the drama would ruin the reputation of the masterpiece. The still-cut pictures were released today, and by the look of them, those who were hesitant to believe in the drama will soon be changing their minds.

The pictures display movie-like quality and it feels as if you can feel the emotions from the actors just from these pictures. Now, imagine how good the drama must be. Trust me, I was one of those who were afraid and worried because I did not want the Korean masterpiece movie to get tarnished because of a drama, but by the look of these pictures, I don't think I will be getting disappointed at all. I mean, although the Korean hunk, Jang Dong Gun, is not in the drama, hottie Hyunbin and the charismatic actor, Kim Min Joon are going to make sure that the drama is as good as the movie, if not better.

Junjin reaches Taiwan, says he misses the fans’ screaming

Park Jun Jin from the 10 year old band Shinhwa arrived in Taiwan yesterday. He was originally scheduled to appear at 4PM for his press conference however due to a minor accident he did not arrive until 7PM.

At the delayed press conference Jun Jin showed off his Mandarin by greeting them “你好，我是前進” (Ni hao, wo shi Qian Jin / Hi, I’m Junjin). As a result fans cheered even louder. When asked, Jun Jin expressed that he missed the screams and passion of Taiwan fans the most.

In regard to the accident that delayed his trip, Jun Jin explained it was a small collision that will not effect him or his performance in the future.

Fans then asked about his love life. Jun Jin replied that he is envious of his friends who has already found relationships. he hopes to one day be able to find that same happiness in a relationship.

This will be the last concert in Taiwan for Jun Jin before heading to the military service so he hopes to create a fun atmosphere. The theme for the concert is even a carnival.

Davichi Kang Min Kyung and 2AM Jo Kwon have revealed that their wish after turning age of 20 is to go clubbing.

They were both on Mnet Madam B’s Salon aired on 12th June when they said “After turning 20, the thing that I want to do most is to go clubbing.”

Kang Min Kyung said, “I debuted when I was 19 and I couldn’t go to places like clubs, though I had the wish to go clubbing, now that more people have known me it seems quite impossible”.

Meanwhile Jo Kwon also revealed that he wished to film for a milk CF. He said, “I can drink just milk with the happiness expression.”

5-member newcomer group 4Minute (HyunA, Nam Ji Hyun, Heo Ga Yoon, Jeon Ji Yoon and Kwon So Hyun) teaser video had become the topic amongst netizens.

The silhouetter teaser revealed on the 11th on their official website. The teaser features a very catchy melody in the background while the silhouettes of the members dancing is shown.

But some netizens had pointed that the teaser video looks like a plagiarism of the iPod advertisement released in 2007. Netizens have also compared the 2 video by posting them together to point out the similar style in the video.

Meanwhile, the group will move on to release the full song to ‘Hot Issue’ the title song off their 1st project album. They will also be taking the concept of Candy Funky in terms of their performance and fashion.

Seo Tae-ji Launches an Environmental Campaign

Korea’s foremost music icon Seo Tae-ji has started an environmental campaign to save polar bears. This is an extension of his eighth album, which warned of the impending environmental disasters.



Together with the director of the Teddy Bear Museum in Jeju Island, Seo has launched the Save the Polar Bears campaign. Under the motto, “A Temperature Difference That Changes the World,” the campaign will sell polar bear dolls and merchandises on and offline and all the profits will be donated to the Polar Bear International. The merchandises will be sold on www.etpshop.com and the eight venues of Seo’s nationwide concert tour. Seo also plans to establish an environmental fund with the proceeds from the Seo Tae-ji credit card marketed in May.

Seo has chosen polar bears as his first environmental project, because these majestic animals symbolize the destruction of earth’s environment and the devastating effects it has on our future.
