The 2 o'clock brothers shared the stage once again on the 17th at SBS Inkigayo.

Vocally talented 2AM sang the second track off their single, "Lost", for their first and last time. As usual, the boys gave a superb performance, even though 2AM's cutie Jinwoon messed up a bit on his lyrics - he started off with the right lyrics, but then skipped over a line to the next one, and when he realized, he paused for the music to catch up. But no worries, for the performance went smooth sailing from there on. Also, 2PM's hot diggity rappers Jaebeom and Taecyeon added some sugar to the already sweet cupcake, as they walked in near the end to join the boys with some nice rapping. What a cute way to close their "Time for Confession" promotions.

Kim Jun, the rapper of ‘T-Max‘ and neglected F4 member, will have his first solo music program performance on ‘Mnet-M!Countdown’, May 21st. The song he will be performing that day is his solo track from the ‘F4 Special Edition’ album, ‘Emptying’. For once, the “rapper” will have the entire stage to himself.
So does this mean he will also sing Kim Jo-han’s parts for the performance or will someone be featured? Nonetheless, Kim Jun will finally get more than 20 seconds of stage time, hopefully he can handle being the center of attention.

SHINee, living up to their honour of 2008's highest popularity new artiste group, will be making their comeback soon.

Their album is titled 'Romeo', giving all females in the country the fantasy of them being crowned the 'Juliet', the five teenage boys will be releasing their second mini album titled 'Romeo' on the 21st, and will be making their official comeback stage on KBS 2 Music Bank on the 22nd.

In their brief 4 months of hiatus, these kids are impatient and could not stand to wait even a day, wanting to quickly return to the stage. Continuing from last year, they will be standing confidently under the colourful lightings on the stage.

When SHINee was not having any activities, their sunbaes from the same company, SNSD and Super Junior, as well as new group 2PM who debuted last year, has managed to accumulate much popularity. Hot topic new group 2NE1 has also made their debut stage on the 17th, ex-Wonder Girls member, Hyun Ah's group 4 Minute and T-ara will also be making their debut in due time. So to say, faced with the 'era of idol wars' and also making their comeback, how much pressure does SHINee feel?

Junjin’s mini-album, “Fascination” will be released on May 19, but it is reported today that the ‘limited edition’ was sold out already.

According to Junjin’s managemenet, the mini-album pre-order request exceeded their expectation. Fans called in the order, as well as their wholesalers calling in and told them that the quantity (1 million copies) isn’t enough to cover the demand. Not only local fans, but overseas fans called directly to the offline stores to pre-order theirs.

According to Junjin, this mini-album is inteded to be a ‘gift for the fans’, and so that’s why it’s only for a limited quantity. The fans are asking for more copies, although this special edition won’t have any special promotion/music activities to promote it. (Does he even need to promote it?? It’s sold out already!)

When “Hey Ya!” music video was released on TV, the public access to watch the clip went on for about 30 minutes, generating about 15 millions viewers.

The screening of Korean movie Mother at the 62 Cannes Film Festival was on May 16 at 2pm. The press and general public attended the first screening in sunny and breezy Cannes.

The movie received mixed reviews and the most notable review was done by British movie magazine, Screen International. Mike Goodridge of ScreenDaily.com, in his introduction mentions:
Bong Joon-ho channels Pedro Almodovar in his fourth feature, an operatic melodrama revolving around a knockout central performance from TV star Kim Hye-ja. Filled with the elegant compositions and mood-drenched cinematography which are becoming Bong’s specialty, Mother is a largely satisfying film which marks the director out as South Korea’s most versatile young auteur.

Alex Billing (USA) said that Mother is an interesting piece but it feels like Park Chan Wook and Bong Jun-ho has traded positions. "Mother really has a Park Chan-wook film feel", says Billing.

France's Julien Welteneun said "Mother is a disappointing work but Bong Jun Ho is still a great coach."

The movie will be released in Korea on May 28th.

Loveholic is notable for having a lot of their music featured in movies (200 Pound Beauty) and drama soundtracks (My Name is Kim Sam Soon, Coffee Prince, etc). Their musical style leans toward soft-rock and folk-esque ballads, with polished arrangements and penetrating lyrics. Their sound is very clean and simple with an air of sophisticated.

SHINee's youngest member Taemin concentrates on both his singer activities and his education.

In a NEWSEN interview on the 18th, Taemin spoke about how he is trying his hardest in school and that even this interview was being conducted after he went to school that day. SHINee's company, SM Entertainment, also states that they are planning on making all of their artists continue and finish school. Taemin himself also finds education to be extremely important. Taemin, who just graduated last year from middle school, is now a 17 year old student who attends Chungdam High School.

Not long ago, a comedian during Gag Concert made a joke with a photo about how Taemin couldn't recognize his own school. However, Taemin clarified that it was a photo of the school from 10 years ago, so he wasn't able to recognize it immediately.

Through the drama, <Tae Hee, Hye Kyo, Ji Hyun>, Taemin has made his actor's debut. Taemin said that although he is not very experienced or knowledgeable about acting, he will try his hardest to better himself. He also mentioned that he has always wanted to become an actor, so he always acts with a positive and happy attitude. The members would also help him practice his lines, which he claims is a huge help.

SHINee has just released their new mini-album's title song "Juliette" on various music sites at 10AM on the 18th. In just one hour, it was already the number one song on cyworld--one can truly see the power of super idols.

Through Part I and II, we surveyed how Korean men serve their military duty, and what happens during the years spent serving. The next question is – how does this experience, common to most Korean men, affect the shaping of Korean society?

Part II left off at the life lessons that Korean men learn through their stint at the military. The Korean noted that the military experience builds Korean men’s tolerance for dealing with arbitrary crap that results from a hierarchical organization that requires unquestioning loyalty. The Korean also noted that our adult lives is full such situations in which we simply must grin and bear with the crap that we do not wish to deal with.

Nowhere is the latter statement truer than in Korea. In fact, one can argue that the military culture neatly coincides with traditional Korean culture – in both cultures, seniority automatically commands respect and loyalty. It is not surprising, then, that Korean workplaces are often run just like a squad in the military. You do what your boss tells you to do, and you are supposed to grin and bear it. Your time will come because Korea, like Japan, had automatic advancement by seniority at least until 1990s. Once you are the boss, you can order people around, much like the way you can order people around once you put in the time and became a sergeant.
