Super Junior wins #1 on Music Bank K Chart for the 4th consecutive time.
This is their last performance of ‘Sorry Sorry’ on the programme and this served as a pleasant surprise for them. Especially for member Lee Teuk, he was so happy about the award that he was in tears.
One of my favourite performances tonight will be the special rap feature by 2PM Taekyeon for Navi’s ‘Heart Damage’.

The still cuts to singer Kim Dong Hee’s upcoming MV ‘Yes you are a woman (여자는 그래)’ from her first album ‘My Reality’ were released on 15th May.
And featured in the MV are SS501 Kim Kyu Jong and movie actress Kim Shin Ah. For the MV, Kim Shin Ah plays the female lead who initiates breakup with her lover played Kim Gyu Jong, and she walked to the seashore where she commits suicide.
Many fans were surprised when they see SS501 Kim Gyu Jong hugging Kim Shin Ah in his arms and his acting as the griefing lover in the still cuts. This is the first time they see this side of Kim Kyu Jong.
The full version of the MV will be released on 19th May.

“Boys over flowers” F4 SP Edition Lee Min Ho-Kim Hyun Joong’s part will be aired on the 19th.
Oh May 15, Mnet official finally reported that F4 Special Edition of the “Gu Jun Pyo & Yoon Ji Hoo” will be airing next Tuesday, May 19. The F4 After Story will focus on the 5 years after and all of the 4 members will be in it. The second part consentrates on the Junpyo & Jihoo’s story.
Mnet officials said, “Now the public has seen Kim Bum & Kim Joon’s love story, now it’s Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong’s turn to reveal it to the public.” This second part is expected to have a bigger ‘topic and issues’ from the other members of F4.

After receiving attention for his hit song "Call Me" and now "Superstar," Tae Goon had his first comeback stage on May 16th MBC Music Core with the support of Wheesung. Wheesung knows the struggles included with being a newcomer better than anyone, so he has written the title track "Superstar" as a gift to Tae Goon. He visited Tae Goon at MBC Music Core on the 16th.
After receiving intensive vocal coaching from Wheesung in preparation for the album, Tae Goon and Wheesung worked closely again for the comeback stage. Tae Goon states "During recording, all of the hard times I went through to debut came back to me and I started crying." Wheesung has said to him "I've been told the most that I can't sing. But I made it in this business because I put effort into it, not because I am gifted. That's why I understand you more than anyone else will."
Tae Goon says "I always wanted to hear those words from someone, now I cherish them. I'm still having vocal lessons every single day, and I often send text messages to Wheesung. Even when I text him at 3:00 AM, he always replies quickly with meaningful answers. I always try my hardest, now I want to show the best performance I can."
After Music Core, Tae Goon's next comeback performance is on SBS Inki Gayo on May 17 where he will be greeted by a delightful and splendid stage.

And now, they've chosen SM Entertainment's (only the best, of course) very own TVXQ / DBSK and Super Junior to represent the hip music scene going on in Korea! Do I think this is an accurate assertion? ...Yeah, I guess. But there are OTHER artists they could've chosen!
Okay... maybe I'm just being bitter because the previous representative was Rain / Bi and they've dropped him decided to get someone more fresh and new, Sigh.

Mixed group Turtles‘ 1st album member Soobin will comeback solo after 7 years.
Soobin who sang as the vocal for Turtles‘ first album title song ‘SaGae’ previously had her comeback stage as a solo singer after 7 years on KBS Music Bank on 15th May.
SooBin said, “I was shocked that everyone has not forgotten me and have shown much interests than I’ve expected for hy my comeback album. I’m really thankful for that. I will continue to work hard.”
SooBin recently released her single 2nd album, and the title song ‘Oe JJeom’ has been popular amongst music fans.
SooBin will have her 2nd comeback stage on 17th May on SBS Inkigayo.

Is it okay to send food to people in the Korean military? I wanted to send him cookies and other things, but I don't know if they allow it.

Your question is a nice lead into the Part II of Korean military service, namely: what is it like in the military?
Allow the Korean to give this caveat one more time. The Korean never served in the military. Because he left Korea before the draft age, he did not have to. Therefore, all information here is based on second-hand stories from the Korean’s friends who did serve, plus a little bit of independent research. If there is anything wrong in this post, the Korean will gladly accept corrections.
If you remember Part I, there are a number of “soft” placements in the military that does not require living on a base as a soldier. However, those placements are relatively few in number. Vast majority of Korean men spend their time during their service as a regular ground infantry, only differing in their base location and job description. So what do these men go through?

Actress Jeon Ji-hyun is on a tour of several countries to promote her latest film "Blood: The Last Vampire" scheduled for release on June 11.
The film is the story of a vampire who is battling to end 400 years of warfare between humans and vampires. Based on Japanese animation "Ghost in the Shell" by Mamoru Oshii, it cost US$35 million as a co-production by Japan, France and Hong Kong.
"I'm more excited and nervous because it's not a Korean project, but a multinational one," Jeon said. "I'm very nervous because I'm presenting myself as an actress in a new genre."
"I get a lot of feedback saying that I’m a commercial model rather than an actress, and that I'm trapped in the images in advertisements. I also hear comments questioning my ability to act. Because I'm a human being, I was anxious and impatient about having to show another side of me to the public," she said. "But I also thought that because I'm an actress, I don't have to get carried away. I know that I will do well and I will look good, so there was no need to hurry."
"I'm sorry that I wasn't able to show various aspects of myself in dramas or films throughout my 11-year career," she said. "There are many misperceptions and prejudices about the image I've portrayed so far, but I think the best answer to such criticisms would be to do well in new films. I have ambition and desire to act until the day I die."
Jeon said the film tried to be as true to the original animation as possible. "The director and all other crew said I fit the character very well."

The five-member group, considered one of the top acts in Korea, will release their first major label single in Japan next month. Titled "MY HEAVEN," the song goes on sale June 24th from Universal Music.
The band has already released three indie label albums in Japan, and last October they drew a total of 20,000 fans to their concert tour. They already plan to follow up the single with a second one on July 8. During the press conference held on Wednesday, they declared their intention to appear at NHK's annual Kohaku Uta Gassen, like fellow Korean group TVXQ did last year. (source)

An autographed cap by GDragon has been sold at 600,000 KRW at a charity sale charity love auction campaign organised by EDaily.
EDaily did the charity sales from 11th to 17th May, sold items by Korean stars like Big Bang, KARA, Yoon Eun Hye etc amongst the items sold at the auction. And of them, an autographed GDragon cap was sold at the record of 610,000 KRW on the 6th day of the charity sale.
The item was also bidded for a record of 72 times. The officials have taken in account that most of the bidders for the auction will be students, they have set a limit to the bid price of no more than 10,000 KRW.
Other than that, KARA member Han Seung Yeon’s autographd book was also sold at 300,000 KRW at the charity sales.
All the proceeds from this sales will be contributed to help needy children. Meanwhile, the charity auction (click to enter) is still going on until 18th May at 10am.
