 Goo Hye Sun's Response to the Rumor

On the morning of the 6th, Goo Hye Sun was interviewed over the phone, "I saw the report in the morning. It's true that we are close, but I'm surprised people thought we were dating. I think they are trying to make sure I never get married(laughs)(she jokes about this because this is the second false rumor of her love life that's been spread). We're both optimistic people, so we're planning on just laughing it off."

 

When she first heard the news, rather than being confused, Goo Hye Sun found herself laughing. While starring in "Boys Over Flowers", she has had more than one false rumors spread about her love life. Though she seemed calm throughout the scandal, she admitted her feelings of regret.

 

"Lately when I am doing interviews, a lot of people ask me about Min ho. Min Ho told me that when he does interviews, he gets asked about me as well. And in those situations, various topics can come up. I have filming with Min Ho today, and it may get awkward. But we've gotten close over the few months we've worked together. So I think we can be cool about it, and get past this."

 

Lee Min Ho also expressed his disappointment through a representative, "We are close, but I was really caught off guard by the rumors. Just because two people are close, it doesn't mean they have to go out."

DJ DOC to return with a new album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Legendary KPOP group DJ DOC plans to make a comeback with their 7th album this June, which would hold some significance because it's going to be their 15th anniversary in June.

DJ DOC stands for "Dream of Children" and debuted in 1994. They hit their peak in popularity in the late 90's. A Japanese artist named DJ OZMA did some covers of DJ DOC's songs and had some hits in Japan with it. The 4th album from DJ DOC is arguably one of the greatest KPOP albums of all time (except for the last track).

Author's note: I grew up listening to DJ DOC and these guys actually had talent. They had to, just look at their faces... they couldn't get popular based on their mugs alone. Usually this would be the time I make fun of a group, but I won't because I actually like DJ DOC except for the fat guy.

My notes: Yeah I grew up listening them too, oh Pump It Up is so glorious.

Meet Kim Bum's Cousin, Maeng Gina

Maeng Gina has been revealed to be the cousin of Boys Over Flower's star Kim Bum. Currently she is a 4th year student at Korea University majoring in International Studies & Communication (for those of you who don't know, it's part of SKY aka Ivy league of Korea). In 2001, she appeared on "(JYP) Park Jin Young's Talented Voice Project 99% Challenge" and was chosen to join JYP Entertainment, under JYP she trained for 5 years to become a singer.

Another Korean Suicide :(

Jang Ja Yeon committed suicide at home today. At 7.34 pm her older sister called the police. She hung herself. Her will and notes will be checked. She is normally a bright girl and hence her entertainment company is also very shocked.

She is most well known for the role of Sunny, one of the mean girls, in Boys over flowers.

She died at 4.30pm. Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong and Goo Hye Sun from Boys over flowers went straight to pay their respects after shooting.

Shin Hyesung is an idol. But that doesn’t mean that he is just the main vocalist of longest running idol group Shinhwa. On the day his Vol.3 Side 2 album was released, a fan from Jeonju posted a message on his fansite saying, “Our oppa’s albums are being placed at corners that can’t be seen”. Another fan in Busan posted a similar message, and a fan from Ilsan went to a store and rearranged the albums herself to prevent a similar situation. To them, Shin Hyesung is “our oppa”, and on the day that oppa’s album is released, the albums have to be bought the moment the stores open. Here, we see once again the communication between Shin Hyesung, as an idol who made his debut in the late 90s, and his fans. Even if 11 years have passed, the communication method stays the same because the target of their communication is still present.

Big Bang Beats Out Dong Bang Shin Ki

The main feature for this month's Forbes Korea was a list of Power Celebrities. From actors, singers, CF models, and sports athletes, they created their Korea Power Celebrity 40 based on a combination of level of expertise and fame, income, and influence. At the top of the list was figure skater Kim Yu Na ranking 2nd in influence, 1st in expertise, 3rd in fame, and 12th in income.

Here's the top 10 celebrities on the list (in order): 1. Kim Yuna, 2. Big Bang, 3. Wonder Girls, 4. Lee Hyori, 5. Girls' Generation, 6. Park Ji Sung, 7. Lee Seung Yub, 8. Rain / Bi, 9. Yoo Jae Suk, 10. Kim Tae Hee. In the top 10, 7 were entertainers (the other 3 were athletes). And out of the entire 40, 30 were entertainers.

Notice somebody missing from the top 10? Big Bang coming in at 2nd due to ranking 5th in influence, 5th in expertise, 7th in fame, and 2nd in income, while DBSK / TVXQ was ranked only 11th overall. 14th in influence, 6th in expertise, 32nd in fame, & 3rd in income.

Kwon Sang Woo Clarifies On Exaggerated Reports

Since the previous news about Kwon Sang Woo claiming responsibility for Son Tae Young’s pregnancy probably caused significant frustration to a lot of his fans, I thought I should post a follow up to help him retain some fans as Kwon Sang Woo has now made a statement saying that the news reported was overly-exaggerated.

In the MBC “Golden Fishery” broadcast a while back, Kwon Sang Woo has made a rather controversial statement, saying that even if its not Son Tae Young, this was also part of his plan, meaning he made Son Tae Young pregnant on purpose.

However, according to the recent clarification by Kwon Sang Woo himself, who was also astounded by the news headline, he said that the news were over-exaggerated. He explained: “My words were taken out of context by the media. In fact, what I actually said was, during my dating period with Son Tae Young, I would often tell my friends, since I’m going to get married anyway, it would probably be faster if there is a child. However, my words were rephrased to ‘making her pregnant in order to get married with her.’.”

Fly to the Sky is back, ready to say goodbye

The R&B duo consisting of Brian and Hwanhee reiterated on Lee Hana’s Peppermint today that their 8th album,Decennium (released last month), will be their last as Fly to the Sky. The two explained that Brian will be pursuing his dreams as an actor while Hwanhee will be focusing on his solo singing career. Brian and Hwanhee reassured fans that while they will not be officially splitting as a duo, this 8th album will essentially be the last time they will be producing an album together as FTTS.

The two acknowledged that they feel that they are becoming too old to be in the “idol” music business. They recounted how all the different idol groups that they performed along side of when FTTS debuted 10 years ago (H.O.T., SES. Shakra, Sharp) have since long gone. The longevity of these two’s careers as FTTS is a testament to their pure talents, good music, and the fans that stood by them for the past decade.

SNSD Breaks Record for #1 on Music Bank

On March 6, Girls’ Generation won the most consecutive wins on record on KBS 2TV “Music Bank.” They have won #1 for 8 weeks in a row for their hit song “Gee” (January 16, 23, 30; February 6, 13, 20, 27).

Girls’ Generation overcame the previous record of 7 weeks in a row on Music Bank by Jewelry for “One More Time.” Nowadays with the current music industry, the life expectancy of songs has been getting shorter, so it may be a while before another hit song can break this record of 8 weeks.

Upon winning, Girls’ Generation said, “We appreciate all the love from the fans.”

In addition to 8 wins on “Music Bank,” they also won 3 weeks in a row on SBS “Popular Song.”

Big Bang wins Best Singer Award for Korea PD Awards

Big Bang was in Seoul YangCheonGoo Broadcasting association cenrtre on 6th March for the 21st Korea PD Awards. And they have won the Singer Awards.

Leader GDragon said after the ceremony, “We have been all along promoting as singers with other seniors and juniors, of all positions this is one really nervous position to be in. As a singers, we also venture out into other areas, we will continue to work hard as Big Bang no matter what we will be doing. We would like to thank the company, our families and our fans.”

Meanwhile, MBC ‘Beethoven Virus’, KBS 2TV ‘ Happy Sunday - 2 Days 1 Night’ won the drama and enteratainment programs categories.

The awards ceremony will be aired on OBS channel on 7th March at 8.15pm.

Now Se7en will be releasing his debut American single 'Girls' featuring Lil Kim on March 10th. The 'Girls' MV will make its premier on Myspace on the same day.
