nominations for the 2015 mnet asian music awards are out!

so, it's that time of year again. after the announcements for the 2015 melon music awards were released earlier this month (which are set to air on november 7th), the nominations for the 2015 mnet asian music award have now be announced. the show will take place on december 2nd in hong kok (as per usual). nominations are below along with criteria, ect. (apparently the eligibility timeline for last year's show was october 23rd-ish? so, anything that was released between the time after eligibility ended there and yesterday kst was eligible for this year's show.) (also: ignore the weird or delayed captions on some of the screencaps. the nominations were announced via naver's v application and we kinda delayed.)

nominations for other categories like: best ost, ect. can be found here, along with nominations for artist of the year, song of the year, ect. i thought it was kind of pointless to type up either of those categories because there's a huge mass of nominations for both (they get whittled down to a top five during the live show) so check it out for yourself (if you're interested, i mean).

i was rooting for gfriend before but now that twice is nominated i voted for them.

amber not only being nominated for best dance perfomance (???) but also currently leading in the ranking is a joke.

everyone vote for zion.t plz!! he's so close to kyuhyun in the ranking.

i voted for the wonder girls in all the categories they were nominated in, but i doubt they'll win. at least they should win best mv, i feel you was my favorite mv of the year.

my two cents on everything...:

i'm laughing at big bang being nominated in the male dance performance category especially with? that dance? i don't follow bts that closely but i feel like that place should've went to them. big bang are gonna snatch other categories anyway.

i also feel like it's a little unfair to nominate twice and f(x)'s four walls so soon after release (even iu's album) because both are gonna have a slim chance of winning. i feel like twice would be a shoe in for the female rookie award next year (unless yg debuted his girl group which... yeah) if mnet had held off until then. because it's probably gonna be g-friend.

my predictions are like:

new male: ikon
new female: g-friend
male group: bb or shinee (because exo are a shoe in for album of the year and maybe either song or artist and mnet is gonna have to come up with some variety.)
female group: snsd
male artist: zion.t or jonghyun (mnet loves jonghyun plus he deserves it)

Kinda sad 4 minutes' crazy is only 3rd for Best dance performance. I didn't really Up&down choreo so yeah kinda disappointed they're behind them.

Surprised Infinite is not nominated for male group of the year. Their physical sells were really good and digitally they did rather well?

Hoping infinite will at least bag one award cause Bad was my jam. Even got my non fan best friend into ddlIng their album because of Bad.

<my vote for best male groupe goes to Big Bang. I loved some of their releases (Some less) but they really swept the charts. They won for songs they didn't even promote and while GD&TOP were promoting zutter. Or winning against themselves. lol

BIG BANG being nominated for 'dance' will always make me laugh. Some of them solo could be, but the group? The other groups nominated here deserve it more.

And I'd also easily replace Bangx3 for BTS' Dope. Bangx3 barely even have a dance anyway? I'd also put BTS' I need U for MV of the year, especially the rated version.

So.. I don't really listen to a lot of Kpop to give a fair assessment but I'll be an extra and add my 2 cents judgements.

Best mv: f(x) - I'm such a sucker for this group's sound and aesthetics although I mostly attribute this to the team that create them.
Best female dance performance: red velvet or 4minute
Best male group: Big Bang
Best female group: Wonder girls (they didn't make a huge impact but the fact that they came back as a band and with new resolutions, I thought that was pretty cool and different and deserve some recognition as opposed to the same ol comeback)
Best band: hyukoh (d'uh)
And then Zion.t for everything that he's nominated in.

I feel like I have no say for best new group for both female and male since I only followed 1 team for each category (ikon and twice). Also a big toss up for best male dance coz I pretty much like all the performances and YES, why is BTS not in here as well?!? This is the biggest injustice for me.

Also, we all know better than to take this seriously, so... This will be fun.

I know when it's a popular group you get nominated for basically everything but Big Bang for best dance? Lol-ing forever. I love them, but by no means do they do any fancy dancing or difficult choreography. They did as little dancing as possible in their concerts because you aren't watching Big Bang for the dancing.
