This Love will always be a good pop-rock song. And Sunday Morning is pretty nice as well (but to the extent it's been covered in Korea, you'd think it was a classic or something).

The only other track I've truly liked from their subsequent albums is I Can't Lie.

I impulse purchased Makes Me Wonder and Little of Your Time due to their catchiness but almost immediately regretted it, because they're the type of songs you quickly tire of and forget. They're also the reason I usually wait a few months after a catchy pop song is released and listen to it quite a few times before purchasing, so that I'm sure it's something I'll still want to listen to a year on.

Huh. I wonder why Pink Tape is suddenly popping back up on the album chart, when Red Light isn't even there anymore...though it is an awfully good album.

Because, just as you noted, on a qualitative level Pink Tape >> Red Light, and also ofc because SM screwed f(x) over (though they made it seem like it was all Sulli's fault), and sabotaged Red Light's promotions.

The Keira Knightley songs are from the soundtrack to an indie musical she starred in, Begin Again.

I think Red Light is actually the slightly better album, but it is I think less accessible than Pink Tape. I just wonder what caused the bump in re-interest, though -- Krystal's drama, maybe?

Interesting! To me, Pink Tape is superior in almost every way (IMO: better dance songs, better hooks, more genre experimentation, more sophisticated-sounding production)....except that it doesn't have Milk, which is pop perfection and feels like the quintessential f(x) song. Everyone has their own tastes. :-)

And I knew that Maroon 5 was one of more popular Western artists in Korea, but I had no idea they were that crazy about them (or at least Adam Levine).

A shame Ailee and Sistar don't sell. And are those numbers considered good for TTS and Suju?

ailee's album sales make me sad bc i want her to be super successful. still, she does v well digitally.

sfs sold like 100k more in its first month. still pretty good numbers tho. most boy bands struggle to hit 200k.

i thought tts would have done better but it hasn't been out for that long. (twinkle > holler anyway imo). i don't think holler will end up selling as well as twinkle.

For SJ I think it's decent enough considering how long they were gone (2+ years) plus how short and weird the promo cycle was (I know fans are already gearing up for the repackage). Not as great as before but certainly not bad (which was expected tbh).
