OMONA THEY DID(N'T)!

Ep.1 air date for upcoming KBS2 drama series “Are You Human Too?,” starring Seo Kang-Joon and Gong Seung-Yeon, has now been set for June 4. The drama series will air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10PM and will follow the conclusion of “The Miracle We Met.” The first teasers for this drama are in this post.

Nam Shin (Seo Kang-Joon) is a son from a family who runs a large company. After an unexpected accident, he falls into a coma. His mother Oh Ro-Ra (Kim Sung-Ryoung) is an authority on brain science and artificial intelligence. She creates an android named Nam Shin III which looks like just like her son Nam Shin. The android pretends to be Nam Shin and he has a bodyguard So-Bong (Gong Seung-Yeon).

It was over a year ago that SKJ was cast and filming has been done for about 5 months, so I'm glad we've FINALLY got an air date. I'm really looking forward to it! Give me all the robot dramas.

Are You Human Too comes from KBS, starring Seo Kang-joon in a dual role as a human and his robot look-alike. Directed by Cha Young-hoon and written by Jo Jung-joo, Are You Human Too has an interesting setup that sounds really intriguing.

Kim Sung-ryung plays a world-renowned robotics expert whose son, played by Seo Kang-joon, ends up in a comatose state. In order to protect her son and his chaebol inheritance from their greedy relatives, she creates an android that looks exactly like him to impersonate him while he gets well. Gong Seung-yeon plays a former boxer and current bodyguard who becomes the closest companion to the newly created humanoid bot.

Filming began in June of this year and ended this past November, but the project has been in the works for nearly two years. Are You Human Too was filmed partially overseas in the Czech Republic, and some of the more intensive scenes were overseen by a special effects movie team. It’s no wonder the production cost was over 10 billion won (over $9 million).

Yes, this is a different robot drama than the MBC drama I Am Not A Robot premiering next week (preview post coming in a few days). I hadn't heard any updates on this drama after the initial casting news back in June, but this info makes me excited to watch. I don't even care if it's a mess, give me all the robot dramas!
