omonatheydidHappy Friday! Every week I search the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week let’s see who was on top for the 1st week of September, 2014. A few of these songs were posted already, so we’ll see some live debut stages.
#3 Taemin “Danger”
His solo debut! And a very MJ debut. He always seems more grown up to me when he does solo stuff. All grown up now with exposed grown man chest lol. I’ve always liked this song, and I still get the chorus stuck in my head. I like all his looks here, I love the suits!
#2 Park Bo Ram featuring Zico “Beautiful”
Her debut song came four years after her appearance on Superstar K, and it did well on the charts. All I really remember about her debut was that everyone was surprised because of her weight loss and that’s what they all talked about. Here’s her debut stage on Music Core.
#1 Winner “Empty”
I can’t believe I’d forgotten about Hoon’s shorts lol! Omg those long legs were always out in full display back then. I do however remember YG really launching a very nice debut for them, I thought the photoshoots in New York were very well done. I like this song, it’s still on heavy rotation on my playlists. Here’s their Inkigayo debut stage.

#4 Kara “Mamma Mia”
I’ll admit it, I didn’t give this song a chance back then. I was still feeling “eh” with the member change up. Nothing against Youngji…it just wasn’t the same, you know? I didn’t even watch out the MV when it came out. I’m regretting it now because I like this song, I like it a lot! Isn’t 3:06 a quintessential quinceanera pose? Shot from above to get the whole ball gown in the photo lol. You could frame that shot and put it in Grandma’s living room and she wouldn’t blink an eye.
#5 Orange Caramel “My Copycat”
I’d forgotten about this! The only thing I remember about this era was the “Where’s Waldo?” part. The concept for the MV is so smart and fun though! You have to watch it a few times to catch everything. They look adorable here too, but honestly it’s OC and they’re always kind of adorable.
