F.T. Island Planning to Serve Their Military Conscription Together

Industry sources recently reported that F.T. Island is preparing for their mandatory military enlistment. But not in the way that many would expect. Instead, they are working out a way to have all the members serve their time in the military at the same time.

The group is considering a plan to join the army two-by-two, with the last member joining around the same time. This two-by-two method is part of the joint enlistment system that allows people to serve in the military with close friends or colleagues. Together, they receive training and live in the same unite until they are discharged.

Apparently, the reason why the group is considering joining together is to minimize the time not as a full group. Unlike dance groups that have a large number of members like Super Junior, F.T. Island not having a member is devasting. Further, it is not easy for them to keep up with its music activities if even one member is missing.

Moreover, the group is anticipating entering the army next year at the latest. Choi Jong-hoon and Lee Hong-gi were born in 1990, Lee Jae-jin was born the year after in 1991, while Song Seung-hyun and Choi Min-hwan were born in 1992. Meaning that they are all in the prime age to enter the military as entertainers.

Mandatory military enlistment is a concern of boy groups, who all eventually have to serve if they are Korean citizens. Since it can significantly impact the activities and popularity of the groups, planned enlistments are not surprising. In addition to F.T. Island, Highlight is also rumored to plan joint enlistment. With this in mind, it would not be unexpected if other groups are also interested in serving simultaneously.

this alway sounded like the best idea for boybands to enlist but groups never did it ....

ftisland guys manage to do things in their own way tho, i bet if someone can make it work ... its gonna be them

That aside, I've always thought groups remotely close in age should do this - in a group with a huge age span it would be a bad move but when everyone is within 2 or 3 years of serving soon anyway, may as well do it together.

Some media reports said she's pregnant but he didn't mention anything in his announcement and last thing Global H Media and fnc said was "idk anything"/"we'll check up on that" so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think he hinted at the marriage too early for it to be a shotgun but whether she's pregnant at all or not is up in the air atm
