KBS TV said Wednesday it has adopted a guideline to ensure the welfare of animals used in television production, following public outrage over revelations that a horse used during filming died due to apparent abuse.

The public network has come under fire after it was learned last month that showrunners of the TV series "The King of Tears, Lee Bang-won" intentionally tripped a running horse and caused the creature to fall violently to the ground for filming purposes.

The horse died about a week later amid accusations of animal abuse. The epic period series centered around Lee Sung-gye, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, has been suspended since Jan. 22 following the controversy.

K-pop’s latest rookies come with seven years of experience. Eunha, SinB and Umji of girl group GFriend returned to the K-pop scene to make a splash second debut as a rookie trio under new name, Viviz.

Indeed, they seemed at home but nervous at the same time on the stage as they spoke to the media Wednesday during their debut showcase, conducted few hours before the release of their first EP “Beam of Prism.”

“I wasn’t the least bit nervous until three minutes ago, but I am now, standing here like this and thinking that we’re about to perform in front of the media,” Eunha said, her voice trembling.

SinB also seemed more tense than usual. “It’s our second debut, so I trained even harder than when we did as trainees. Because we’ve debuted once, we know what it feels like so there’s the pressure that we have to do better. We told each other that we have to do our best, not just try our best.”

In a video uploaded on YouTube on Feb. 5, a young man in a black mask expressed his condolences at the death of a female YouTuber named Cho Jang-mi, who was found dead last week at her home.

The masked YouTuber, known as "PPKKa" with 1.21 million subscribers, came under fire after Cho's death. He was singled out as the party who started spreading rumors about Cho, which allegedly drove her to take her own life. He denied the allegations in the video and claimed that he had no intention of attacking Cho.

Police also stated that there is no evidence indicating Cho was murdered.

"Many people are accusing me of having instigated internet communities and their members to drive her to kill herself, but this is not true…. I was and still am a YouTuber who follows issues and strikes at them when they pop up, nothing more than that," he said.

"There was no Korean Disney princess so I decided to make my own," Julia Riew wrote as she unveiled a preview of "Dive," a song for her new musical project, "Shimcheong: A Folktale."

In the video, Riew turns herself into an animated character through a filter with a finger snap, and sings a song describing her protagonist embarking on an adventure with the lines, "Now all the fish in the sea can't stop me. All of the waves in the world can't rock me. I'm on a mission and just watch me go."

Riew, a senior at Harvard studying Theater and Music, is creating the musical starring a Korean princess, inspired by the Korean folktale, "Shimcheong," also known as "The Blind Man's Daughter," and Disney animated films.
