Flashback Friday

Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 3rd week in October, 2008. Legendary songs this week! Muscle memory still has me doing the dances 12 years later lol!
#3 Wonder Girls “Nobody”
THAT Wonder Girls song. What more can we say about this iconic song? This was the follow up to “So Hot”, and helped make 2008 a big breakout year for them. This song would give them a bunch of awards at the year end shows, including a SOTY Daesang at MKMF. Here’s their stage at MKMF, with a remix of the song and an appearance from another group on the charts this week.

The Korean Methodist Church has suspended Rev. Lee Dong-hwan for two years for holding a "blessing ceremony" at a queer festival in August last year, during which he gave a blessing to the LGBTQ community and scattered flower petals.
In a secular hearing held in Yongin City, Thursday, the judicial committee of the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korea Methodist Church ruled against the pastor, saying "Participation in the queer festival and the blessing itself can be seen as an approval of homosexuality."

Weverse shop is selling packs of 20 bottles (yeah it's 22$ for 20 bottles not only one, I nearly had a heart attack reading the price) for Korea's citizens only.
This is probably the water they were supposed to sell on tour.

Badkiz member Rozi recently revealed on Instagram that the group had disbanded. Badkiz debuted on March 24, 2014 with "Ear Attack" and gradually evolved their sound over the years from wacky EDM dance-pop, to sexy club bops, to a more mature pop sound, then back to the wacky EDM dance-pop... As a nugu group, they tried out numerous different concepts to see what would stick, as well as rotating their lineup with almost every comeback. They even changed their name to Hot Place in 2019, before changing it back to Badkiz in 2020.
The most well-known and long-lasting member of Badkiz was the half-Korean, half-German Monika, who was the group's leader and main vocalist from their debut until 2018. She is now a soloist; her most recent release is "Say It," a stripped-down R&B track that shows off her deep voice nicely. I also highly recommend her Latin-pop-ish jam "Luvidu."
Whereas most nugu groups tend to fizzle out after a few months or years, Badkiz are notable for simply refusing to die as a group. Their company just would not give up! Until now, it seems... but I wouldn't be surprised if they reform the group with an all-new lineup at some point in the future. I have to wonder what goes on at Zoo Entertainment. They seem to have an extremely high turnover for their idols, even compared to other nugu companies.
