BTS Talks About Billboard Top 100, Sewol Ferry Tragedy & "Glass Ceiling"

Group BTS kicks off their world tour. On the 18th afternoon at 3PM, BTS held "2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III in Seoul" press conference at Gocheok Sky Dome.

On this day, J Hope stated, "The choreography of Spring Day is energetic yet detailed and delicate. We planned our moves philosophically to fit the sentiments of contemporary dance.". He continued, "We could say that "Not Today" is going to be great. The biggest characteristics of this song is that its powerful and energetic but  it's amazing because there's a story in hit.", he emphasized, "It's the greatest.". He then added, "I think you'll be able to watch the new song performances in 1 hour on Gocheok stage.  I think our fans will enjoy.".

Regarding the 700,000 in pre-order for "WINGS Extension", BTS replied, "Pre-order for "WINGS" was 500,000 copies and until last year, we recorded 770,000 copies in sale but we were very surprised when we heard that we received 700,000 copies in pre-order. We think we are able to have high album sales because of the love they give us. We think it's right for us to repay them with better music."

They expressed their happiness for the great love they received. BTS said, "We don't know if we deserve all this love. We received love from around the world. We even entered the Billboard Chart 200 and UK Chart. We learned that many happy moments like this can exist.".

South Korea's Kim Min-hee won best actress at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday for a film exploring the meaning of love through unconventional relationships.

She took the Silver Bear for Best Actress for "On the Beach at Night Alone," beating tough competition from 17 other films. She became the first Korean to clinch the honor at the Berlinale. In the film, she plays the role of Young-hee, an actress pondering her relationship with a married movie director while drinking together with friends in a seaside town shortly after returning from a trip to Germany.

"This film will hopefully bring great emotions for those who see it and therefore I'm very proud of it," Kim said during her acceptance speech. "This award that I receive here and this happiness that I feel is all thanks to Hong sang-soo, my director in this movie. I honor you and I love you."

This is Hong's 19th feature film and third foray to the Berlinale after "Night and Day" (2008) and "Nobody's Daughter Haewon" (2013).

"On the Beach" earned South Korea the first best actress prize in any of the top three European film festivals in 10 years. Jeon Do-yeon won best actress in the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 for director Lee Chang-dong's "Secret Sunshine." In 2010, Hong's "Hahaha" won the Cannes' fringe "Un Certain Regard" category.

"On the Beach" is set to open in local theaters next month. It also stars Jung Jae-young, Kwon Hae-hyo, Song Seon-mi and Moon Seong-geun.

To The World: NCT DREAM appointed FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 ambassadors

NCT DREAM have been appointed FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 Local Organising Committee (LOC) ambassadors at an appointment ceremony in KFA house on 15 February. LOC executive vice chairman Kwak Youngjin, vice-chairman Cha Bumkun, secretary general Kim Dongdae and Korea Republic U-20 national team coach Shin Taeyong all attended the ceremony to celebrate the appointment along with the newly appointed ambassadors.

NCT DREAM, who join previously appointed ex-footballers Ahn Junghwan and Park Jisung in taking up the role, are a multinational K-pop teenage boyband consisting of six members (Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Chenle, Jisung). The group will sing the Official Song for FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.

“NCT DREAM have a few things in common with FIFA U-20 World Cup participants, including that the members are aged under 20 and see the future being better than the present,” said Kwak. "The LOC hope the song performed by the ambassadors makes a positive impact by expressing the energy of their members."

Mark, the leader of NCT DREAM, said: “It is an honour to sing the Official Song of a FIFA tournament. Our goal is to spread positive energy to the public, and eventually to ‘Trigger the Fever’ like the slogan of the tournament.”

The Official Song by NCT DREAM will go public at the Official Draw in Suwon Artrium on 15 March, and will be heard at various promotional events for the tournament.
