Hip-hop group MFBTY (Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Bizzy) is set to return to the music scene with a new album, which comes a year and six months after “The Cure.”

The album is slated for release in mid-March, and is expected to feature a number of talented artists, including male group BTS‘ Rap Monster.

Just yesterday, fans were excited to see music video director Lumpens post a photo of MFBTY and Rap Monster hanging out in the studio on his Instagram, and the rumors about a possible collaboration have now been confirmed.

A representative of MFBTY revealed to news outlet OSEN, “Rap Monster will feature on the album. I’ve been told that [MFBTY] has kept a keen eye on the talented industry junior. When they met up for the recording session, they were even more surprised at the level of [Rap Monster's] rapping skills. Please look forward to their new music.”

While the group has yet to choose their title track, they are said to be putting final touches on the overall album.

Article: 1.6 million foreigners living in Korea surveyed on their views of Korea "Koreans of all income brackets work too much"

Source: Kyunghyang via Naver

Pros of Koreans
1. Hard working 21.5
2. Courteous 16.7
3. Patriotic 13.3

Cons of Koreans
1. No freetime 15.6
2. Strong pride 14.3
3. Closed-minded 12.3

Pros of Korean society
1. Courteous service 16.4
2. Strong sense of unity 15.4
3. Dynamic 13.5

Cons of Korean society
1. Excessive competition 30.2
2. Sense of Korean superiority 27.5
3. Fast with everything 20.2

Difficulties foreigners faced in Korea
1. Balancing work and life
2. Language
3. Corporate culture
4. Finding a place to live
5. Food accessibility
6. Communication within the workplace
7. Work advancements
8. Discrimination
9. Education for offspring
10. Co-workers
11. Rules of social relationships
12. Work in general
13. Skill accessibility
14. Compensation

Other points of discussion
1. Difficulty in understanding the drinking culture + senior and junior social relationships
2. The concept of 'attachment' that can often feel like a breach of privacy
3. Respect for seniors, like no smoking in front of adults
4. Not being able to eat by yourself (social stigma)

1. [+4,085, -107] I hate the senior/junior social culture too.

2. [+3,335, -66] I also hear foreigners talk about how Koreans put in a lot of work hours but aren't actually working but killing time...

3. [+543, -13] Culturally, Koreans tend to group very well but that doesn't necessarily mean we're also good at unifying.

4. [+503, -10] Korea's drinking culture is basically ruining ourselves. In order to advance or stay in business, you have to go out every night drinking and going to seedy places, take drinks even if you don't want to, even when you're sick. It just doesn't make sense. Any man who refuses to drink and instead wants to go home in a timely manner to his wife and kids is alienated at the work place.
Another problem with Korea is that people care way too much about other people. It's none of your business whether that woman's divorced or if another woman is at an age to be married or if that kid is from a divorced family or if this kid doesn't have a mom or dad. People care too much about other families and private lives that have nothing to do with them.
The third problem is the social culture of senior and junior relationships. It prohibits the proper exchange of opinions and communication and just adds tension and stress to a relationship.

5. [+496, -4] I'm fine with all of these aspects of our culture but not where it's forced. Why force someone to drink, to get married, to believe in a certain religion...

6. [+331, -10] There are a lot of countries who make less than us who live better lives than the average Korean. They get off work in a timely manner and spend their nights at home with their families. Meanwhile Korean parents work late into the night, the only 'free time' being spent on drinking... This isn't right and needs to be fixed.

7. [+292, -4] I heard in countries like France, employees don't need to know the contact information of their seniors. Just do your job and get off work when it's time. That's it. No one cares.

8. [+231, -13] Let me add another con. Koreans have completely different egos when on the internet and when in real life.

9. [+193, -2] Another thing is when Koreans judge others and talk behind their backs without knowing anything about a person. Everyone thinks they're a judge or a critic.

10. [+163, -9] I agree about the Korean superiority part. We have nothing to feel superior about but we're always talking about we're the first or the best at certain things. Foreigners know us so well ㅋㅋㅋ

Shinhwa Members Don′t Dance as Hard as Before Because They′re Afraid of Dying

On February 22, Shin Hye Sung shared his worries about dancing on MBC′s Section TV. The Shinhwa members shared, "When we were young, we used to dance fiercely, but now, the choreography point is to deliver feeling."

Kim Dong Wan said, "We could still do the kicking dance, but we′re just holding onto it. Right now, we′re controlling ourselves."

"Back then, when we danced those kinds of moves, we worried about injuries, but now, I′m afraid that if I do those moves, I′ll die," said Shin Hye Sung.

Lee Min Woo hilariously added, "We can′t have a member dying because he did a flip in the air."

Shinhwa Shares Why They Can′t Do a Nude Photo Book Anymore

When asked if the members would release another ′Shinhwa nude photo book′ again, Kim Dong Wan answered, "Back then, people in Southeast Asia didn′t know who we were, so we ran around naked. But now, if we go to Southeast Asia to take the pictures again, I feel like fans will follow us around and take pictures of our frontal areas."

Known as the rebels of the music industry, the Shinhwa members were asked if they′ve fought recently. The members answered, "We shared so many of our fighting stories that it′s kind of boring now. We didn′t have any recently, so we′ll work hard to make something happen."

Shinhwa Wants to Collaborate with SNSD on a Trot Song

When asked which junior girl group they would like to collaborate with, Lee Min Woo answered, "We think we′ll match well with SNSD, whom we′re close to."

As a follow-up question, reporter Park Seul Gi asked what genre of music they′re interested in for the collaboration, and Jun Jin replied, "Trot," making everyone burst out laughing.

The members also shared their hopes of winning number one on the music programs of all three major broadcast stations. Shinhwa will release its 12th album We on February 26.

Shinhwa’s Eric Wants to Be the First Member of the Group to Get Married

Eric of Shinhwa recently revealed that he wants to be the first member of his group to tie the knot.

On the February 22 broadcast of MBC’s “Section TV,” all six of the members of Shinhwa sat down for an interview with the weekly entertainment news program ahead of their upcoming return to the music stage.

During the interview, the reporter brought up the topic of marriage. On this subject, Eric shared, “I wonder if we will ever end up being able to marry because we promote every year. Out of the members, I would like to be the very first to get married.”

The Shinhwa member continued, “One thing for certain is that I hope there are no members getting married this year since we worked so hard on our 12th album,” causing laughter.

Shinhwa Reveals They Could’ve Broken Up during Their Four-Year Hiatus

On the upcoming episode of the talk show “Healing Camp,” the members of the group appeared as guests, talking about their group’s long history.

The group’s leader Eric revealed that the four-year hiatus the group had in late 2000′s was their hardest moment together, adding, “We could have broken up during that time.”

Shinhwa, who debuted in 1998, has been active for 17 years without a single member change. They will also be releasing their 12th official album, “We,” on February 26, with the title single “Sniper.”

On the episode of “Healing Camp” set to air on February 23, the group will also show off their expert variety skills, as the episode will have a romantic “Real Romance – Love Letter” theme. Eric is also said to have revealed a shocking part of his past, when he weighted over 95kg.

As Heather Cho publicly apologized on Friday, she stared at the ground and rarely raised her voice above a whisper. "I sincerely apologize for causing trouble to everyone," the former Korean Air vice president, dressed all in black, told a crowd of journalists. Her contrition was not just verbal: It had earlier been announced that Cho had not only quit her job with Korean Air but had also been removed from all other posts at affiliate companies.

Cho, also known by her Korean name Cho Hyun-ah, had suffered a remarkably swift fall from grace over the past week. Just last Friday, after she was served macadamia nuts the wrong way (in a bag, without asking) on a Korean Air flight in New York City, she forced the taxiing plane to return to the gate so that the chief flight attendant could be kicked off. The flight was slightly delayed as a result.

In any country, the story would have caused a stink. "Nut rage," as it was soon dubbed, seemed a truly remarkable tale of arrogance and entitlement, the story of one first-class passenger with powerful connections inconveniencing more than 200 others over a bag of nuts. But Cho's public humiliation, almost a week after the story broke, and the continuing debate over what exactly happened on the plane, suggests that in South Korea this is a bigger deal than at first glance.

South Korea and China are taking the initial steps toward launching a joint entertainment fund of around $200 million (200 billion won), Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on Thursday.

The joint fund aims to finance the production of local film, broadcasting and music projects. The two countries have pledged $40 million each, with the remaining $12 million due to come from private sources. Chinese mogul Jack Ma, whose e-commerce giant Alibaba recently went public, has reportedly shown interest in the fund, according to Korea's Yonhap News.

Kimchi has traditionally been the most frequently consumed food item in Korea, but now it seems that coffee has taken the top spot, according to a recent study released on Friday. The study gave data for consumption trends in 2013, the latest available data for the country, and showed that the number of coffees brewed in the country more than doubled in the past decade, with Seoul leading the coffee craze.

People in Korea drank coffee 12.2 times per week on average in 2013, while eating kimchi, Korea's national dish, 11.9 times and Korean white rice 6.9 times a week, revealed the joint study by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the state-run Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation. This translates to drinking a cup of coffee twice a day, but eating rice only about once a day, according to theKorean herald. The study also showed that Koreans increasingly preferred multigrain rice over traditional white rice, consuming it 9.7 times a week, at the same frequency as sugar.

Tencent Holding
’s latest weapon to expand its online entertainment business in China:

The Internet giant said Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with YG Entertainment, a South Korean artist management powerhouse whose roster includes Psy, Big Bang and girl group 2NE1.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclose but under the agreement, Tencent, whoseonline games and social networks have hundreds of millions of users, will become YG’s exclusive online distributor in China. While YG’s songs and music videos are currently available on multiple online platforms in China, those contracts will expire by the end of the year and Tencent will be the sole online partner from Jan. 1, according to the Chinese company.

In China, young consumers have a huge appetite for Korean pop music and TV shows, creating an incentive for Tencent to team up with YG. While “Gangnam Style” remains popular in China, teenagers closely follow Korean boy bands and girl bands. Korean romantic comedy TV series “My Love From the Star” became a major hit in China this year. As consumers also pay attention to Korean stars’ fashion and makeup, YG has launched clothing and cosmetics brands over the past few months and is looking to market its products in China.
