Showcasing something different this year, the 2014 SBS Gayo Awards will debut the project group, Lucky Boys.

Beginning on December 14, SBS unveiled the existence of this five member group, revealing the identities of three members, which were CN Blue′s Jung Yong Hwa, Infinite′s L and Winner′s Song Min Ho.

It's Official: Big Byung to Open MBC Gayo Daejun with first ever live performance

Jung Hyung Don and Defconn‘s project group BIG BYUNG will be kicking off the 2014 MBC Gayo Daejun by performing the year-end festival’s first performance.

Consisting of idol group members Jackson of GOT7, Yook Sungjae of BTOB, as well as N and Hyuk of VIXX, the project group was formed by the producing duo Brave Duble Tiger (Jung Hyung Don and Defconn) on MBC Every1′s variety show “Hyungdon & Daejun’s Hitmaker.” After a successful and entertaining first season, the show was recently renewed for a second season, which premiered on December 12.

Jun Sung Ho PD, who leads the production team of MBC’s Gayo Daejun, revealed, “When deciding on the act that could open for Gayo Daejun in an energetic and cheerful manner, we thought that Jung Hyun Don and Defconn’s BIG BYUNG is fit for the role. Furthermore, project group BIG BYUNG is receiving lots of love [from the public], and thus we concluded that they will have no trouble performing the opening stage.”

In regards to the rumored dance battle between two of this year’s hottest male groups, GOT7 and BTS, the PD said, “Although it is one of the stages currently being discussed, it has not been confirmed.”

2014 MBC Gayo Daejun will air on December 31.

EXO Will Release a Christmas Song Entitled “December, 2014″ as a Gift to Fans

EXO-Ls have something to rejoice about with popular boy group EXO releasing a Christmas song entitled “December, 2014” which will first be heard through the game application “Super Star SM Town.” Despite reports of the group’s comeback early next year, it came as a surprise gift that they will be releasing a Christmas single before the year ends.

Unlike the ballad “Miracles in December” which was released during holiday season last year, the song will be a pop-ballad and was prepared meticulously by the EXO members as a thank you to the fans who have supported them all throughout.

The first teaser for “December, 2014″ will be released today at noon through SM Town’s official Youtube account. The full song will be revealed in “Super Star SM Town” on December 19.

YG Entertainment’s new boy group WINNER proved their high popularity in China, being invited to the country’s most popular holiday season entertainment show.

WINNER is invited to “2014-2015 Hunan Satellite TV’s New Year’s Concert (“Hunan TV New Year’s Concert) that will be held on December 31 at 7:30pm at Guangzhou International Sports and Entertainment Center, to perform “empty” and “Just another boy”.

“Hunan TV New Year’s Concert” is a special end-of-year show that wraps up the past year and celebrates the new year, which is live-broadcasted nationwide in China. It is also one of the most popular shows in the country, which recorded the highest viewership rating last year.

Notably, WINNER’s appearance in the show is drawing a big attention, as WINNER is the first-ever foreign artist appearing in the show in which usually top Chinese stars perform.  WINNER has stood on the stage of YG Family’s China concert or China concert of 2NE1′s world tour but has carried out no official promotion in the country. Considering that, WINNER’s appearance in the show is very exceptional.

Meanwhile, WINNER will meet Chinese fans at “Worker’s Gymnasium” on January 10, at Shanghai “Grand Stage” on January 17, at Shenzhen “Bao’An Gymnasium” on January 24 next year, by holding “WWIC 2015″

END OF AN ERA: THUNDER AND JOON LEAVE MBLAQ

It has officially been announced that Lee Joon and Thunder will be making their departure from MBLAQ to focus on individual activities.

According to a press release from their legal representative on December 16, “Lee Joon and Thunder’s exclusive contract with company J.Tune Camp and their promotions with MBLAQ have ended following the ‘Curtain Call’ concert at the end of November.”

The legal rep continued to explain, “Also, for their future plans, Lee Joon will commit to filming his drama ‘Mr. Baek,’ while Thunder will focus on his music studies for the time being. [Lee Joon and Thunder] would like to express thanks to all of their fans who have shown endless love and support to them for the past 5 years, and they will continue to repay their fans with an even more improved and mature image in the future.”
