Jung Hyung Don and Defconn‘s project group BIG BYUNG will be kicking off the 2014 MBC Gayo Daejun by performing the year-end festival’s first performance.
Consisting of idol group members Jackson of GOT7, Yook Sungjae of BTOB, as well as N and Hyuk of VIXX, the project group was formed by the producing duo Brave Duble Tiger (Jung Hyung Don and Defconn) on MBC Every1′s variety show “Hyungdon & Daejun’s Hitmaker.” After a successful and entertaining first season, the show was recently renewed for a second season, which premiered on December 12.
Jun Sung Ho PD, who leads the production team of MBC’s Gayo Daejun, revealed, “When deciding on the act that could open for Gayo Daejun in an energetic and cheerful manner, we thought that Jung Hyun Don and Defconn’s BIG BYUNG is fit for the role. Furthermore, project group BIG BYUNG is receiving lots of love [from the public], and thus we concluded that they will have no trouble performing the opening stage.”
In regards to the rumored dance battle between two of this year’s hottest male groups, GOT7 and BTS, the PD said, “Although it is one of the stages currently being discussed, it has not been confirmed.”
2014 MBC Gayo Daejun will air on December 31.
