With his upcoming discharge date later this month, Super Junior's Heechul expressed his wish for a quiet ceremony.

It's been announced that Heechul will be discharged on August 30th. Although his official discharge date was the 31st, he is being discharged a day early because the 31st falls on a Saturday.

Heechul enlisted as a public service officer in September of 2011 rather than an active duty soldier due to his past, severe injuries from a serious car accident. At the time of his enlistment, about 400 fans had gathered to bid him farewell, so this has been raising questions about whether we'll be seeing a familiar scene at his upcoming discharge event.

However, Heechul has expressed his wish for a quiet ceremony and he and his reps have decided on the direction of making this just a private event. The reason they say is because the idol considers serving as a duty that all Korean men should carry out, and doesn't think it warrants a big and fussy ceremony to welcome him back.

Hopefully fans will be understanding and honor his wish for a smooth and quiet discharge!

Political circles in Korea are pushing for Rain's re-enlistment, along with KCM and a soldier 'C' that has already been released. Many are pointing out Psy's own re-enlistment into the army. The democratic party under the Ministry of Defense pointed out that Rain and some others had become a celebrity solider even though they hadn't provided the necessary documents.

Girl group Ladies’ Code’s advertising contracts are attracting attention.

Ladies’ Code was recently chosen by global beverage company, Pepsi, to be the model for their advertising campaign “OPEN YOUR PEPSI NOW" along with actor Ryu Seung Ryong and idol group INFINITE shooting their own versions of the ad as well. Ladies’ Code is expected to show off a youthful and lively image in their advertisement.

Agency Polaris Entertainment expressed, “In addition to the Pepsi ad, Ladies’ Code along with another actress are currently being contracted as models for a global cosmetics brand as well, arriving at a all new level in their career by becoming the blue chip in the advertisement industry."

In addition, they added “Cosmetics, beverages, pastries, etc., there are many CF offers lined up, so we are able to feel the anticipation for Ladies’ Code’s comeback."

In related news, Ladies’ Code recently released “Hate You" today on the 6th on various online music sites.

EXO has been all over the news lately. They just released a new single, "Growl" and the song has gotten praise from not only critics and fans, but other artists as well.

The members are busy with their promotional activities and have a long list of appearances scheduled throughout the summer and into next month.

Recently they have been gaining a fair amount of negative press, however - though it is no fault of their own.

Rather, a number of overzealous fans have been excessive in the way they show their love. Stalking behavior, dangerous antics, and unabashed invasion of privacy seem to be the norm for these fans and their inappropriate antics have gotten the entire fandom banned from the Inkigayo studio.

YG, SM, JYP, and Star Empire Entertainment came together to report the manipulation of music charts to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office.

The four have pointed out the problems that have been on the rise with agencies manipulating the charts by raising the number associated with how many times the song has been played or downloaded. Once they are able to raise that amount to the point that the song ranks towards the top of music charts, the song is easily able to gain more attention. This also means more royalties, as well as a chance for these songs to rise to the top 10 of various music broadcast programs and thus, gaining further exposure.

Due to results like these, there has also been a rise in companies that offer services and products that can help with raising these numbers and manipulating charts.

A YGE rep commented, "Digital sajaegi ['mass buying'] must be stopped as agencies which properly release digital albums are at a disadvantage, and the public lose faith in music site charts' fairness. Digital music business need to work together and a preventative measure must be put in place to prevent these illegal acts."

JYPE stated, "The manipulation which hurt agencies that release and distribute music fairly and tarnish the faith in digital music sites has to be immediately stopped. All digital music businesses must work together to arrange a system to prevent the corruption of music businesses and manipulation of digital numbers."
