Director forced to cut incest scenes after Korean rating board ban

The South Korean filmmaker has cut and edited 21 scenes that the board ruled too provocative for local audiences, effectively banning the film.

SEOUL -- Kim Ki-duk has cut one minute and 20 seconds of his controversial film Moebius in order to submit it for a retrial by the Korea Media Rating Board (KMRB). The KMRB recently gave the film a “restricted rating,” which amounts to an effective ban in the country, as the rating requires that the film only be shown in "specialty theaters," of which there are no such venues in South Korea. The KMRB is said to have objected to Moebius' direct portrayals of incestuous sexual encounters between a mother and son.

5-member boy group MYNAME (Seyong, Insoo, JunQ, Chaejin, Gunwoo) reveals their tough plans ahead of the release of their first mini-album in Korea.

MYNAME revealed on the 19th at the Caprihall in Busan Haeundae Paradise Hotel during the press conference for their title song MV filming, “We will work hard with the mindset that this is our last chance.”

Member Insoo said, “We have released singles before, but it’s our first time for a mini-album, and we felt that if we didn’t boost things up after 2 years since your debut, it would not work out for us. We also think we’re in danger and, though it’s the same for every other album, we prepared this one a little differently. With the mindset that this is our last chance, we will focus more and show it to you.”
