HYUK/Han Sanghyuk

Self-introduction: VIXX’s youngest member who’s daring and energetic.

A past that you’re proud of: The titles of vice-president of the school and being 1st in school.

Things you prepared for ‘Hyde’ promotions: As much as it’s an album where the role given to me is large, I worked hard in practicing in order to make an amazing harmony with my hyungs.

The hyung that’s most like a friend: Hongbin hyung and Ravi hyung.

The hyung that’s the scariest: Although he’s normally ‘N-jumma’, our leader, N hyung, is the scariest when he’s angry.

A lethal action by the youngest: When my hyungs are angry, I’m not the type to comfort them through cute acts. I sincerely tell them that I’m sorry.

Something that’s difficult about having started this type of social life early on: Although there are definitely difficult points, I believe that this is an opportunity to mature faster than others. I will work hard for people to think, ‘No matter who sees it, Han Sanghyuk is living a happy life’.

If I were a normal student: I would’ve followed my dad who does wooden architecture and probably would’ve gone into architecture.

When I become 20, I will: be able to go to PC rooms past 10 PM and watch 19+ movies at the theater with my hyungs!

A goal you want to achieve in your 20’s: Becoming someone else’s dream.

Idols that you’re friends with: NU’EST’s Minhyun, MYNAME’s Chaejin, and BTOB’s Sungjae. They’re all 1995 friends.

If I were a girl: I‘d date Hongbin hyung. Because he’s the manliest.

A time when another member is lovable: When N hyung is sleeping. (laughter)

Your role model: The all-around entertainer, Lee Seungki senior.

Any greed in acting: I believe that our performances on stage are also a type of acting. When I become fully acknowledged as a singer through VIXX, I would like to try acting.

Your final goal: Becoming a public artist like god seniors.

RAVI/Kim Wonshik

Self-introduction: VIXX’s rapper. A 20 year-old young man who dreams of becoming an artist as he writes songs and lyrics.

Things you prepared for ‘Hyde’ promotions: Since it’s our first mini album, I wrote more lyrics than I usually do, and I would write around 3 raps for each track and pick the better one.

How you started writing lyrics: I believe that it’s something definite for a rapper to write raps. There are many songs I have stacked up, but I plan to reveal them when given the opportunity. I’m a bit greedy, hu.

When I write lyrics: I use small situations that I’ve experienced and use them as base for my thoughts. Because I don’t have much experience with love, I try to make small points into something large. I add onto movies I’ve seen or books I’ve read and other people’s stories as well to make them more full. I’m anticipating a new world of writing lyrics that will change once I truly love in the future and become hurt from it as well.

VIXX’s competitive point: This is definitely our performances! Each of the members have their own distinct character, so the performances meld in well with each other. Although we still followed through with the same vampire concept in this album as well, we gave it a certain dynamic. Please look carefully at the members’ various sides in ‘Hyde’ as well!

A musician you look up to: G-Dragon senior. I want my direction as an artist to be similar as his.

A shopping spot that you enjoy going to: I usually use the internet, but I’m the type to buy a bunch at once when given the time.

As the person in VIXX who dreams of becoming an MC: In the future, I would like to try being an MC for a music program.

The moment when the heart of the man, Kim Wonshik, becomes weak: 1) When I think about my family. 2) When my person is hurt. 3) When I’m picking a dish on a menu.

Your nickname of ‘younger sister fool’ is: something that’s really embarrassing. It’s because the fact that I like and cherish my younger sister is something that’s obvious.

Something to boast about your younger sister: 1) She’s pretty. 2) She’s kind and perfect. 3) She treats our parents well, so she’s very admirable.

If you’re given just one day for break, what would you do?: I would lay out blankets on the floor of my house, and sleep together with my whole family.

Your final goal: As an artist with cool music and performances, I want to be forever with my members and VIXX.

HONGBIN/Lee Hongbin

Self-introduction: In charge of being the artwork in VIXX. My low-voice that’s nice to listen to is my charming point!

Things you prepared for ‘Hyde’ promotions: Since there were many acting elements needed for our performance, I worked hard to try and compensate my expressions and gestures.

A picture you took recently: The filming studio for the music video shoot of ‘Hyde’! I’m currently wondering what I’m able to do once I gather up all the pictures that I’ve taken so far.

My quick abilities to recognize situations: is thanks to my older sisters! The younger one of my older sisters raised me harshly since I was a bad boy.

Something you want to boast about your sisters: 1) They’re pretty to the point where men would turn around to look at them. 2) They take care of me and cherish me like a mother would. 3) They go shopping with me, who has no shopping sense.

Contrasting from my graceful looks, my manly personality was: due to the fact that I spent most of my school life exercising with friends. I’m kind of bad with sappy things.

Campus life: I’m currently taking morning classes. Although it’s tiring, it’s fun. I also became a lot closer with my classmates.

An ideal image you have about campus life: I hear about blind dates or MTs, but I heard that it’s difficult because they drink a lot. But I still want to go to one.

Your alcohol tolerance level: I’ve never been knocked out before.

A recently bought new item in the dorms: A steam iron. Although we don’t have a TV or computer in the dorms, I can play all day with the members as long as we have that steam iron.

A phrase that’s recently become a trend among the members: When we all go ‘Ah, what’s this what’s this what’s this!’ at the same time. It’s a bit awkward for me to try and do it by myself. Haha.

If I start acting: I want to wear a school uniform and go back to being a high school student.

If I were a female: I would want to date Ken hyung. He’s humorous and good at singing. I think it would be nice if he sang me a lullaby.

Something you’re envious of from another member: N hyung’s talent. His sexiness on stage, his stare, his line when he dances.

A time when another member is lovable: When Hyuk plays around at the dorms. When I’m exercising, he comes to bother me, but if he does something once, I take revenge by doing it three times more. (laughter)

Your final goal: For a lot of the public to know about VIXX. Even my grandmother’s friends!


KEN/Lee Jaehwan

Self-introduction: VIXX’s cutie & true man main vocal, who is also in charge of the gags and impressions in the team. My specialties are beatboxing and drawing.

Things you prepared for ‘Hyde’ promotions: While watching the musical, ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’, and other similar animes, I practiced expressions and gestures.

Secret weapon: My stares and fast body movements. My shoulders that seem like a true man’s!

The Ken a year later will be: a musician who’s a lyricist and composer! I’m currently working hard with writing lyrics. As for composing, I’m learning the basics such as putting in beats. Won’t you be able to see my own composed song in a few years?

Something you want to learn: How to play the drums, guitar, piano, and musicals! Because there was a time where I learned Taekwondo and K1 fighting prior to debuting, I would like to learn mixed martial arts and boxing.

How you relieve stress: I either play games or turn on music really loud at the practice studio and sing along to it.

When do your members give you strength?: Even when I just look at them, I gain strength. I used to be the mood-maker back then, but lately, the other members are making me smile. Whenever that happens, I think, ‘Ah, the other members probably felt like this’. When I think that, I feel proud and happy.

Your challenge towards KenTV: It’s not a challenge. I’m always secretly filming it. Haha. However, I can’t help but run KenTV. I will become famous with it and call amazing guests on it. Please!

When the cutie Ken transforms into a man: 1) When I stand on stage. 2) When I’m exercising. 3) When I’m angry.

When I love, I: am shy at first, but once I become comfortable, I show a lot of aegyo (cute acts).

Your diet know-hows: Eat all three meals well. NO! snacking at 6, and I also ran for around 20 minutes at night.

Something you’re envious of from another member: N hyung’s ability to socialize.

A time when another member is lovable: When I see Ravi taking care of himself, I also start to put effort with him.

Your final goal: Like Big Bang seniors, I wish for each and every one of us to have a certain distinct color. I also wish for us to become a group that continues to improve even when 10~20 years pass by like SHINHWA seniors!


LEO/Jung Taekwoon

Self-introduction: VIXX’s main vocal

Things you prepared for ‘Hyde’ promotions: While watching Jo Seungwoo senior’s musical DVD, I noted not only his vocal tones, but his body movements as well, and practiced that.

A year ago I was: not really different than I am now. For both last year and this year, I still feel that I’m in the process of rising up.

Your title of ‘troop leader’ (T/N: someone who is strict about rules and sets things in place) is: partially correct. However, I don’t lecture my dongsaengs with no reason. The only time that I saw harsh words is when they do something that’s unmannerly. They’re lovable dongsaengs just by looking at them, so I don’t want them to get pointed at.

During your soccer player days: I always lived each day with tension. In order to survive, I personally was harsh to myself. When I think about those times, I don’t know how I endured it. I still chant ‘be strong’ to the younger Taekwoon.

The reason why you’re in charge of cooking in the team?: I learned while watching my father do it. Even while living a dorm life, it’s something that definitely needs to be done as the dongsaeng. Although I’m one of the oldest hyungs in the team, I feel like I’m obliged to take care of my dongsaengs.

When I have time to rest at the dorms, I: listen often to music. I’ve recently started enjoying media work, so I’m working hard in learning how to compose.

A misunderstanding that you want to explain: I’m still a bit shy when I go out on variety programs. Luckily, I’m thankful that my fans know and understand that I’m actually a kind person. In exchange of that, I work much more harder with singing and dancing on stage.

Something you’re envious of from another member: Ken’s cheerfulness He has the strength to make people around him happy.

A time when another member is lovable: When my dongsaengs are practicing, they are the most lovable and admirable.

To fans who go wild at your cute charms: I honestly don’t understand this well. I’m simply trying to show a side of me that’s not made up.

When I love, I: am the type to express my feelings well. I’m honest in love.

Your final goal: (Becoming) VIXX’s warm singer.


N/Cha Hakyeon

Self-introduction: The perfect leader who has everything: soft charisma, cuteness, and sexiness!

Things you prepared for ‘Hyde’ promotions: While monitoring previous performances, I tried to find the substances behind my expressions or dance movements.

Secret weapon: A upgraded sexiness that will make you forget about ‘Cha Yeoji’!

A year ago I was: young. Although I’m not an adult yet. Haha. Compared to a year ago, my responsibility to take care of the members has increased more.

A performance you thought was the coolest: SHINee senior’s ‘Sherlock’ and ‘Dream Girl’. Their choreography and performance are really cool.

As the leader, when there’s a problem in the team: I quietly call them over to my own area. I’m the type to converse with someone in a way that we can understand each other. I also open meetings in the dorm’s living room. If you want to get the accurate cause of something, everyone’s opinions are important.

The hardest thing to be the youngest at home, but the oldest in the team: I think it actually helped me to be the youngest in my family and receive a lot of love while I was growing up. I believe that since I received love, it’s possible for me to share that love. I’m actually thankful when the members depend on me.

Your outstanding abilities in handling certain situations: This was possible due to my various experiences as the youngest! Since there were many times where I was the youngest such as in my dance team, at the company, and even when I was doing musicals, I think I gained an ability to react quickly by noticing the situation.

A misunderstanding that you want to explain: As the leader, there are times when I go on variety programs or radios by myself. I believe that there are definitely fans that wish to see other members. Since we’re in the middle of working hard for that day to hurry and come, I ask that you look over us kindly.

If I were a woman: I would want to date Ravi, who’s good at taking care of himself. Someone who knows how to love their own self probably knows how to cherish another person.

Something you’re envious of from another member: Ken’s impressions and wit.

A time when another member is lovable: When our youngest, Hyuk, massages me at night. When Ravi shows aegyo (cute acts).

A musician that you look up to: Taeyang senior and Justin Timberlake.

Your final goal: Becoming the trend. I want to become idols who shine on stage and leave a fierce impression on stage.

I dont normally read interviews but vixx are still so new for me and there isnt a shit ton of info out and about them as indiviuals yet so. i'm def super curious about them! esp N and Leo. but hearing about Hongbin was rly interesting. he was a bad boy with strict noonas huh? XD. sounds interesting. Leo had some colorful older sisters too haha. Man I feel bad for Leo a bit tho, since everyone else in the group got mentoined at least once by another member but no one mentioned Leo at all :( even tho I suspect it wasnt intentional or malicious just that they are all clearly closer/more relaxed with each other than Leo still. altho they DO try and he seems to be fond of them in his own way. i hope these kids can all work it out together ;_; cuties. but yeah even as a Leo stan (among many tbf lol) if you asked me who leo is closest to in vixx or vice versa....i really couldnt tell you? or who likes him best or who HE likes best or w/e. He seems to have a soft spot for hyuk, but prob cause hyuk is so young still. So yeah, its still not been much time since they debuted so. hopefully one day? I do wish Leo would try more, he's certainly less surly and closed off now than before (so happy to see it <3) but yeah....cant help but wonder why he is/was like that. i wonder if the others have ever asked him? surely they must wonder why he's that way too.

I know what you mean i was waiting for another member to mention leo but i was sad to find out no-one did D: and felt he was left out in a sense. I mean i can understand why the rest are closer to each other or certain members because they open up more easily, but i wish there was at least one member who can see leo the way us fans do :)

Im really hoping as the years go by he can become closer with everyone :) they are still fairly new so my hopes are high in that they become a tight-knit group :)

i like that quite a few of them are learning about composition and production. that has been one of my favorite things about how B1A4 matured over the years.
