North Korean parents 'eating their own children' after being driven mad by hunger

A starving man in North Korea has been executed after murdering his two children for food, reports from inside the secretive state claim.

A 'hidden famine' in the farming provinces of North and South Hwanghae is believed to have killed up to 10,000 people and there are fears that incidents of cannibalism have risen.

The grim story is just one to emerge as residents battle starvation after a drought hit farms and shortages were compounded by party officials confiscating food.

Joon and Yeon Seo leaving We Got Married, for some reason Joon apologizes

It has been confirmed after a day of deliberating by the ‘We Got Married‘ staff that MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon and actress Oh Yeon Seo will be officially leaving the show.

Rumors had been afloat that the two couple would be pulling out of the show earlier, and the agencies of the two stars later confirmed that they had both requested to leave the show due to scheduling issues.

‘We Got Married’ has recently released an official statement regarding their decision about the couple, which you can read below.

Infinite's interview with Billboard

2012 was a spectacular year for K-pop boy band INFINITE. The group embarked on their first tours in Korea and Japan, reached 160,000 members in their official fan club "Inspirit," and by the end of the year, Billboard.com was so impressed by the seven-member group and their latest single, "The Chaser," that it was chosen as the No. 1 K-Pop Song of 2012.

INFINITE's popularity is massively growing in both Korea and Japan, but their megastar status didn't come overnight. The group's 2010 debut effort "Come Back Again" was met with a lukewarm response and they remained relatively unknown until the release of their second EP. With a new concept and rekindled spirit to prove themselves, the group included a highly-technical "scorpion dance" on their dramatic single "BTD" (Before The Dawn) that soon drew more and more eyes to the rookie group.

In October 2011, the group propelled into super-stardom with breakout single, "Be Mine," a modernized '80s Euro-pop track with a catchy and heart-grabbing hook. The group's success has since grown exponentially.

INFINITE soon expanded their popularity to Japan drawing in a total of 74,000 fans to their recent arena tour. They continued their supremacy by releasing more hits to add to their catalog, including "Paradise" and "The Chaser" back in their home country.

Still all the success didn't stop the group from broadening their musical horizons: Leader Sunggyu released his first solo album, "Another Me," in November 2012, and Hoya and Dongwoo's created a sub-unit group, INFINITE-H, and released their "Fly High" mini-album this month. INFINITE-H's first single "Special Girl" is currently at No. 8 at on the K-Pop Hot 100.

With their audience increasing by the day, the boys welcomed 2013 by visiting Billboard Korea's studio for an exclusive interview to kick off Billboard.com's new K-pop column "K-Town."

Ailee releases "Ice Flower" MV for "Queen of Ambition" OST

Two days ago, the official track to Ailee's OST song for the SBS drama "Queen of Ambition" was released. The music video for "Ice Flower" was finally released on January 30th, following the digital release of the song.

The music video features several scenes from the drama, telling the story between the two main characters. "Queen of Ambition" tells the story of a greedy woman, who aims to be the First Lady and get away from poverty, and a man who will do anything for her. It features actors Kwon Sangwoo, SooAe, Jung Yoonho and Kim Sungryung.

"Ice Flower" features a 24-piece orchestra and Ailee's emotional and endearing vocals.

The melodrama airs every Monday and Tuesday nights at 9:55PM KST on SBS.

AoA’s Hyejeong shares her thoughts on her acting debut in ‘Cheongdamdong Alice’

AoA‘s Hyejeong recently sat down for an interview following her final filming of the SBS drama ‘Cheongdamdong Alice‘ and shared her thoughts on her acting debut.

Hyejeong, who starred as Han Sae Kyung’s (Moon Geun Young) younger sister Sae Jin shared, “There were a lot of [interesting] aspects, and I liked that I could learn a lot from the experience. It was interesting because I experienced things for the first time like matching one’s eye level. Because there were a lot of scenes in which I appeared with my character’s family, I had more scenes in which I was listening rather than saying my own lines, so I learned a lot of methods about how to react. Geun Young unni taught me in a friendly manner how to position my eyes and the angle of my face. Although I can’t act, I worried that I would hear even worse criticisms. Although there was pressure, I received strength from the support of people around me.”

When asked which role from ‘Cheongdamdong Alice’ she would have liked to take on, Hyejeong chose Shin In Hwa (Kim Yuri). She explained, “At first I thought she’s only a cold, workaholic woman, but as I kept watching, she is a woman who knows how to love. Kim Yuri sunbae’s acting ability was also very good. It was a shame that I didn’t have any opportunities to act with her.”

Henry, Jiyul, Fei, Tony An, and others to star on celebrity edition of ‘Master Chef Korea'

Super Junior-M‘s Henry, Dal Shabet‘s Jiyul, miss A‘s Fei, Tony An, and Son Ho Young will be starring on the celebrity edition of ‘Master Chef Korea‘.

‘Master Chef Korea’ launched in April 2012 on Olive TV and gained incredibly popularity. Season 2 of the show is scheduled to air in May. However, before that, the show will hold a celebrity version in which stars battle each other as chefs for 8 weeks. Whoever wins the celebrity edition of contest will win 100 million KRW (approximately $92,000 USD).

All of the members of the show are already known to be good cooks. Tony An has a franchise of luxury fast food restaurants while Son Ho Young has been an MC for a food show, and had been acknowledged for his own recipes.

The program commented, “The staff and the professionals met with the celebrities before the show to test their abilities and to check their basic cooking skills. Everyone was surprised by their talent. People who we didn’t even think about showed off their talents, so we are looking forward to airing the show.”

The first episode of the show will air on February 22.

Goo Hara Has Acute Appendicitis and Will Undergo Surgery

It’s been reported by “Joy News 24,” a Korean media outlet, that Kara’s Goo Hara is currently at a hospital in Seoul and will undergo surgery to remove her appendix after it was verified that she’s suffering from acute appendicitis. Some of the symptoms of appendicitis include dull or sharp pain, nausea and/or vomiting, high fever and constipation or liquid bowel movements.

According to her agency’s official, she complained of a stomach ache during the early hours on January 31 and was rushed to the hospital.

An official from her company stated, “It’s correct that she’s receiving appendectomy. We hope that the surgery will go smoothly. After the surgery, she will rest so that she can fully recover.”

Meanwhile, Kara has a schedule in Japan on February 1, but it’s uncertain whether Goo Hara will attend. She’s currently looking at scripts and is planning to challenge herself through acting during Kara’s break from album promotions in the near future.

Aziatix to Attend a Pre-Grammy Party + Next Album Update

Aziatix will be attending a Grammy party to be hosted by Cash Money Records, mingling with such global hip-hop artists as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake.

A rep from Aziatix′s agency A Star told enews on January 30, "[Aziatix] has been invited to Cash Money′s Pre-Grammy Party to be held in Hollywood on February 10 (local time), the night before the 55th Grammy Awards are to be held."

Cash Money Records was founded by Slim and Birdman, the fathers of American hip-hop, in 1991. It currently houses such renowned artists as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Limp Bizkits. It has sold a total of 45 million records, and earned over 600 million dollars (640 billion won).

In 2013 Aziatix plans to launch its ventures in America with RedOne, producer of Lady Gaga′s Poker Face, Jeff Panzer, a music video producer who produced for Lil Wayne, and June Ambrose, Beyonce and Will Smith′s stylist.

The A Star rep added, "That Cash Money, the biggest record company in the world, invited Aziatix to its Grammy party shows the interest the American market has in the upcoming album. You can look forward to what lies ahead for the group."

Aziatix′s album will be released in the first half of 2013 across the world.

Teen Top’s Niel Ranked As Most Frail Idol by His Peers

Teen Top’s Niel has beaten out other female idols to place first place in a survey of frail idols.

In the recent recording for MBC’s Weekly Idol a survey was taken of idol stars in which they were asked which idol seemed the most frail and in need of some health supplements.

To his surprise, Niel came in first place in the survey as the Teen Top member even beat out the thinnest of his female idol peers.

According to the survey, those who voted for Niel shared comments such as, “With such a big height, his very skinny frame evokes pity.”

When revealed the news over the phone, Niel was taken by surprise and insisted he only looked frail but was a true man.”

In addition to Niel, those who made the cut included SHINee’s Jonghyun, SNSD’s Sunny, f(x)’s Krystal and others.

The full ranking and results will air on January 30.
