YG’s new girl group is still shrouded in mystery, but after revealing 2 confirmed members (Kim Jisoo and Jennie Kim), that mysterious cloud is slowly dissipating. But, to many fans, it’s disappearing at a very slow rate. However, to tickle the fans’ interest, YG recently dropped another hint to the girl group formation.
On January 23, an official at YG Entertainment shared, “Yuna Kim and Kim Eun Bi were strong candidates for the new girl group, but one of them has been dropped. Because CEO Yang Hyung Suk was directly involved in the girl group’s selection and training process, not much news have been leaked out. These two girls were set to debut with the girl group even up to late last year and the atmosphere at YG looked favorable at their inclusion, but why one of them has been dropped- no one explained.”

JYJ‘s Kim Jaejoong has started 2013 off nicely with the release of his first solo mini-album I. The album jacket photos as well as the MV for the title track “Mine” have an artsy, gothic feel that was immediately reminiscent of the Korean fashion label Dominic’s Way. The brand’s clothing is often times dark, with leather goods like jackets and trousers featuring heavily. Dominic’s Way has also built strong relations among K-pop artists like B.A.P., Teen Top and ss501. CN Blue‘s Jung Shin and SS501′s Park Jung Min have both walked the runway for the label. Jaejoong wore several Dominic’s Way pieces for I.

MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon‘s alleged post in his official fancafe has sparked interest and concern from fans as well as netizens.
Although the post is now gone, fans have uploaded various screen shots of their phones with the post that had been written under Lee Joon’s name.
The post had read, “Am I a robot? Who do I keep doing this for….? I put up with it as long as I could, and I have something called opinions too. Has anyone genuinely apologized..? I feel sorry for fooling people in an obvious way, I’m human so I can’t act out lies that are obvious.”
The post was made during the early hours on January 23rd, and was deleted shortly afterward. However, it garnered more than a hundred comments in moments, and captured images of the post has been spread online, gaining much attention.
Some are guessing that his post has something to do with how he is feeling about his appearance on ‘We Got Married‘ with Oh Yeon Seo after the actress’s scandal, while others believe that there is perhaps something else behind the words.
Some have also suggested that there is also a possibility that it was done by a hacker. Lee Joon does not log into the fancafe frequently, and he has once revealed that his email had been hacked. His label has not yet commented.

SM Entertainment will be holding global auditions from January 25 to April 28, for a total of 3 months.
They will be holding auditions in Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, U.S. and more for a total of 5 countries and 14 cities. This is also the first time they will be holding auditions in Ghangzhou, China.
The auditions will begin in Korea on January 25.
There will be 4 categories in which contestants can audition for including song, dance, model and acting. There are no age, gender, and race restrictions for this audition.

Shinhwa has announced that the legendary group will be making their comeback this March, just in time for their 15th anniversary celebration.
The group will be celebrating their 15th anniversary on March 24th, and is planning to release a new album during that time as well. In addition, they will be going on an Asian tour, starting in Seoul, as part of their promotional efforts.
Similar to last year, Shinhwa will be operating and managed under Shinhwa Company instead of by the member's individual agencies.
Shinhwa Company is an agency founded by the Shinhwa member in 2011, who are also registered as shareholders in the company.
Last year, Shinhwa made their grand comeback to the music industry after being on hiatus for 4 years as a group due to members fulfilling their military duties and other solo activities.

The title song of the band’s new album ‘Re Blue’, which was released on the 14th, is ‘I’m Sorry’, composed and written by Jung Yong Hwa. To have his own compositions be chosen as the title song of his group’s album in four years means that Jung Yong Hwa’s agency has recognized his talents. The song is currently in the top 5 list on online music charts, proving that his songs are accepted by the masses.
Jung Yon Hwa has shown a great passion for composing songs. Thanks to the active support of FNC Entertainment, he has written songs for Juniel and AOA. Jung Yong Hwa stepped away from his band in the second half of last year to focus on composing music, and confessed, “For the first time in my life, I felt the pains of innovation.” His efforts are paying off now.
The number of representatives in the K-pop industry asking Jung Yon Hwa for songs is increasing. Some seniors and juniors have already asked him for songs at awards ceremonies. Jung Yong Hwa said, “At an awards ceremony last year, I met TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho and he asked me if I could write a song for TVXQ’s 10th anniversary album. Hwang Kwang Hee from ZE:A asked me too.”
Others have requested songs from Jung Yong Hwa through the entertainment agency’s CEO and representatives. Jung Yong Hwa seemed to be enjoying the attention he was getting, but he said that he is still hesitant to give anyone other than CN Blue a song yet. On January 23rd, TEEN TOP’s label stated, “We wanted to quietly film the music video, but fans recognized us from the airport and the paparazzi followed us around. We wanted to reveal the complete music video to our Korean fans, but we’re disappointed that the photos were revealed through the paparazzi.”
The photos of TEEN TOP’s C.A.P filming for their newest music video have been floating around the internet, causing a stir among Angels. The photos appeared on various Hong Kong media outlets, who reported, “TEEN TOP secretly came to Hong Kong and filmed a music video for 2 nights and 3 days.“

J.Y. Park has lost his appeal against composer Kim Shin Il.
Last year, J.Y. Park had lost the initial case claiming that he had plagiarized the ‘Dream High‘ OST “Someday” from Kim Shin Il‘s “To My Man“. After losing the case, he then appealed the ruling and their court date had been rescheduled to January.
On January 23rd at 2:10 PM KST, the appeal case was held. In the original ruling from the lower court, J.Y. Park was stated to pay the composer 21,672,752 KRW (approximately $19,000 USD) in damages. However, he lost his appeal and was ruled to instead pay 56,930,710 KRW (approximately $54,000 USD). The higher amount stems from the profits of “Someday” up until the 23rd.
J.Y. Park plans to appeal the ruling once again to the Supreme Court.

Kim Jae Joong is practicing extra hard for his upcoming solo concert.
On January 23, C-JeS Entertainment released photos showing Kim Jae Joong practicing for his solo concert with his band.
A rep from the agency said, "Kim Jae Joong has been practicing with his rock band for his live performance. He will be performing with the band for the concert, which will act as a bridge between him and his fans as well as a full-fledged concert. Since his album mostly contains rock, he has decided to go onstage with a live band in the third part of his concert."

Ludacris’ featuring was confirmed back then by both YG & Luda himself, but Missy Elliot’s wasn’t. No peep of those tracks whatsoever due to what seemed like “time constraints” on YG’s part. Recently it was announced that G-Dragon would be releasing another album and would embark in a world tour this spring. Fans are continuously hoping that the said featuring(s) with Luda & Missy would finally be released~

YG Entertainment has announced that they have abstained members of their up-and-coming rookie female group from undergoing cosmetic surgery which, is considered an odd move in the Kpop industry.
The reason for this is because many of them are still young and they think it's best to portray them as they are, without being "overly made up". Last week YG released an au naturale picture of rookie member, Kim Ji-Soo, who's yet to make her debut.

Music industry officials are definitely jealous of the rare invite SISTAR managed to receive, and rumors quickly spread about how much they were paid for their attendance. SISTAR's representatives were quick to deny, "They received what they normally receive for events."
