Jaejoong in Dominic's Way For I Mini Album

JYJ‘s Kim Jaejoong has started 2013 off nicely with the release of his first solo mini-album I. The album jacket photos as well as the MV for the title track “Mine” have an artsy, gothic feel that was immediately reminiscent of the Korean fashion label Dominic’s Way. The brand’s clothing is often times dark, with leather goods like jackets and trousers featuring heavily. Dominic’s Way has also built strong relations among K-pop artists like B.A.P., Teen Top and ss501. CN Blue‘s Jung Shin and SS501′s Park Jung Min have both walked the runway for the label. Jaejoong wore several Dominic’s Way pieces for I.

One of the teaser images released by C-JeS shows Jaejoong with a subtle rainbow of color in his perfectly tousled hair; a cropped leather jacket is worn over a black open-knit sweater. The item is a Collar Stud short rider jacket ($1298) from Dominic’s Way.

Another piece of the brand’s outerwear seen on Jaejoong was the Hand-Painted Leather jacket ($1486). This classic biker-style coat features various doodles in white paint on the black leather exterior.

The Spring/Summer 2013 collection of Dominic’s Way was filled with graphic prints in a tattoo motif; lighter fabrics and colors were also prevalent.  Jaejoong wore a white trench with black print from this collection.

In the opening scenes of the “Mine” MV, Jaejoong walks among bare trees as snowflakes fall around him. He can be seen in a heavily distressed black sweater embellished with haphazardly hung gunmetal chains. This same sweater was previously worn by SS501′s Park Jung Min, as part of the closing ensemble for the Fall 2012 Dominic’s Way show at Seoul Fashion Week.

All of the close-up shots in the album jacket gave Jaejoong a chance to show off one of the coolest fashion accessories around — Paperself Eyelashes! This brand of false eyelashes are unique because they feature intricate designs cut into paper that have a dramatic effect when applied; Jaejoong sports the Peacock ($19 $9) and Small Peach Blossom ($17) styles.

I think because when the news first came out that's what they called it. But they actually meant it was just the tittle track. Even though they released One Kiss before. I don't know, the whole thing was badly promoted imo. He's lucky to have such a devoted fanbase. I swear sometimes I wondered if he was even aware that he was releasing a solo album.

I think Jaejoong released a rock solo album because the fans wanted it more than he actually wanted to do it. I mean, there was talk at one point of all JYJ members releasing solo albums, but that was just talk. (We'll have to see if Yoochun does one now.) At the same time, fans are one of the things Jaejoong treasures most, so how could he not release a rock solo album they wanted?

The promotions for I are nothing like what Junsu had for Taranrallegra. The main press seems to be about Jae collaborating with that famous Korean rock artist, not the album itself. They're missing out imo on the extra super amazing ONE KISS and ALL ALONE. My love for those songs knows no bounds. lol So yes, it's totally the devoted fanbase that is making I top charts.

The weirdest thing to me is that he has said nothing about it. There's only that one interview that came out yesterday. There's been no word from him. No tweet, nothing.
Idk, he's said several times before that he loved to sing Rock songs, he trained really hard to be able to achieve that kind of voice. Fans only realized he had a good voice for that genre because he started covering songs like Maze or It's Only My World.

Currently, he's rehearsing for the upcoming concert, in a few days. And this is actually how JJ works when it comes to promoting for his music. He rarely post on twitter when it's music related, even when JYJ release an album, he tweets like once or something, if I remembered correctly, or none at all. He does a lot when it comes to concerts and dramas.

JJ album is doing well on hanteo. Digitally, One Kiss also did well for a rock/ballad. Rock is not SK forte. The most rock SK can like is Nell and CNBLUE. But yeah, JJ is very quiet most of the time, unless he has to promote for an acting projeect.

Actually, the promotion is starting. He is just a weird dude. He is starting the press release for his concert. News articles are coming out? And, lol, girl, don't even bother with CJES. They most of the time don't give a fuck about JJ. It took 1+ week after "I" was released for them to put it on Itunes US. They should've had at least, "Mine" up on Itunes when they released his mv, but they stalled it for 1 week. JJ friends promote him more than CJES. That's how sad it is.

JJ has been saying that he wanted to do a solo album, rock since so long ago. The only reason why his fans wanted a rock solo album is because he talk about it himself, since years ago. Like in every interviews he has that is not related to his acting works, he sometimes goes over it in his acting related interviews.

mte :3 Jaejoong makes a lot of genres of music work for him because of his versatile voice, but I wanted a rock one because I had always assumed (correctly or incorrectly) that was what he wanted since he mentioned it a long time ago.

I just don't understand why the company seems to favor promoting Yoochun and Junsu, or whether it's all a factor of Jaejoong's personality.

ngl, i thought the fake eyelashes were ugly at first, but the more i look at it, the more it looks interesting. it's definitely not for everyday use, but it's a fancy way of dressing up one's eye.
