Seo In Guk, Brian Joo and VIXX Set to Perform at Japan’s Zepp Diver City

The Jellyfish Entertainment family is coming together in Japan!

Seo In Guk, Brian Joo and VIXX are set to take part in the K-Pop concert at Tokyo’s Zepp Diver City on September 12.

Though the concert was originally planned with Just Seo In Guk and Brian in mind, the soaring popularity of VIXX and the flood of requests from fans for the group to also appear led to VIXX being included as special guests for the concert.

The concert marks the first time the Jellyfish Entertainment singers will have their own concert and the anticipation is already growing from fans in Japan to catch a glimpse of these stars live.

The artists will leave for Japan on September 11.

The “original dancing queen” Kim Wan Sun has released her new album, ‘The Beer‘, and has unveiled her first music video for one of the tracks, “Today“.

“Today” is a remake of a past song that showcases the singer’s vocals and ability to convey emotions, and is completely different than her title track “Can Only Feel“, which is an electronic dance track that will have its own music video coming up later.

Her niece ‘Mari’ has featured in the music video for the song, adding on to the personal touch.

▶ How are you?
I’m doing well. Thank you for the concern. I’m healthy and you don’t have to worry.

▶T-Ara had a comeback. Did you know?
I tried my best to wait patiently for their comeback performance. It’s because I was a T-Ara member before. Of course I’d be curious. That’s why I watched them with interest. I hope they’ll do well. I’m always cheering for them.

▶It’s been witnessed that you’ve met with Sistar’s Dasom.
She became a good friend as we ran our promotions together.

▶ How does it feel that the rap you personally wrote became a hot topic after you revealed the lyrics?
I still have a lot of weaknesses. I know that I have to work a lot harder.

▶ How is the prep going?
I’m studying music in my spare time. I got the thought that I need to put in more effort. I can’t talk about other activity-related news at the moment.

▶ If you can say something to the fans?
Thank you so much for your interest. I will work hard to show a better self. Thank you.

The biggest names in Hallyu are getting ready to make their respective comebacks before the year is up.

The SM Entertainment lineup includes TVXQ who are gearing up for their comeback later this month, followed by Girls’ Generation who may release something as soon as this October in Korea. Afterwards, EXO will be releasing their full-length album, but as of now there are no plans for SM to debut a new artist or idol group.

On the other hand, expectations are high for YG Entertainment. Psy is doing well for himself, representing YG overseas, while G-Dragon has a firm hold on the Korean market. G-Dragon swept the charts with the 19+ single “That XX“, and is looking to release a mini-album on September 15th. In addition, 2NE1‘s new full-length album which got delayed because of their World Tour will also be released this October.

YG will also be releasing SuPearls from SBS ‘K-Pop Star‘ as well as a new girl group being dubbed ‘YG’s Girls’ Generation’. The girl group is determined to fill the relatively weak aspects of girl groups out there today, and have drawn attention since early this year.

Whose comeback are you most looking forward to?

Big Bang’s T.O.P to resume filming ‘Alumnus’ under new director

Big Bang‘s T.O.P (Choi Seunghyun) will resume filming his new movie ‘Alumnus‘ under new director Park Hong Soo.

Filming for the movie had recently come to a halt after the previous director stepped down, however, Park Eun Kyung, head of ‘Alumnus’ production company ‘The Film‘ stated in a phone conversation with MyDaily on September 11th, “We will resume filming early next week with director Park Hong Soo.”

Park Hong Soo has worked as an assistant director for projects such as ‘Movie Is A Movie‘, ‘Blood Brother‘, ‘Notice‘, ‘Everything About My Wife‘, and more, and has also worked as an assistant director for ‘Alumnus’ as well.

Park Eun Kyung continued, “He has been with us since the beginning of the shoot, and so he understands it better than anyone. The staff members and the actors trust him and he himself showed ambition to take on the role. It’s not that we did not consider bringing in someone new, but we decided that someone on the inside would be most qualified.”

T.O.P will be making his big-screen comeback for the first time in two years through ‘Alumnus’, playing the role of Myunghoon, an assassin who infiltrates the South to save his sister.

Sooyoung Featured in The Third Hospital's First MV OST Sung by Hi.ni

On September 12th, CJ E&M Music released the first music video for the OST of Sooyoung’s drama, “The 3rd Hospital”, with the emotional ballad, “I Miss You”, sung by vocalist Hi.ni.

The music video for “I Miss You” is comprised of scenes from the drama itself. Sooyoung is featured throughout the music video in moving moments that show off her acting skill, as well as other scenes where we get to see her cute appearance and viola playing talent. Sooyoung’s sister, Soojin, who is making a cameo in the drama, also appears briefly in the music video.

Though Sooyoung’s disguised voice was used in the first episode as the phone message alert for Kim Minjung’s character, Sooyoung is making her on-screen debut in the drama as Lee Euijin in the third episode tonight at 11PM KST on tvN. Check out the music video “I Miss You” below. (Warning: Possible spoilers in the music video)
