In just a few hours after releasing their latest single “I LOVE YOU“, the ladies of 2NE1 have achieved an instant ‘all-kill’ with their newest release as they have topped all the major charts.
An all-kill refers to topping all of the major music charts in Korea simultaneously, and 2NE1 fulfilled that requirement by achieving the #1 position on the Bugs, Melon, Soribada, Daum, Mnet, Cyworld, Olleh, and Naver real-time music charts.
Congratulations to 2NE1!

Actress Kim Min-hee from the movie "Helpless" chose a romantic comedy movie this time.
Kim has chosen the movie "Break Up" which is about a campus couple who've been together for a long time breaking up and getting back together again several times.
Kim appeared as a mysterious woman who did the extreme to get rid of her old life and start over new in her previous movie "Helpless". She shows potential of making another hit in the romantic comedy "Break Up".

INFINITE has announced that they’ll be bringing together 10,000 fans for their new concert, ‘INFINITE Concert, That Summer‘.
Having sold out their first solo concert, ‘Second Invasion‘, just within five minutes of tickets going on sale in addition to selling out an additional 10,000 seats for their encore concert, ‘Second Invasion Evolution‘, the boys are looking to continue their success following their rise to the top with their recent comeback, “The Chaser“.
The members have always talked about wanting to get even closer with their fans, and instead of renting out the largest possible concert hall, the boys are aiming to shorten the gap between them and their fans by preparing a concert that will allow them to do just that.
For a total of five days starting August 8th, the boys will be holding concerts seating 2,000 fans each for a total of 10,000 fans.
The boys will be performing new arrangements and unplugged versions of their hit tracks in addition to creating special summer memories for their fans that they won’t forget for the rest of their lives.
Their company expressed, “The concert will be focused on the connection with the fans that have supported them without change since their debut. Fans will be able to see the full potential of INFINITE’s musical capabilities.”
Tickets will open through Interpark on July 12th at 8 p.m. KST.

The 7th Huading Awards took place at the Beijing Olympic Gymnasium on July 4, and Jung Il Woo became the first Korean to have been invited to the event.
In previous years, this award ceremony was geared only towards Chinese actors and actresses. However, this year, it has enlarged its scope to include actors from other Asian countries as well.
During the award ceremony, Jung Il Woo was announced as the winner of the “Best Asian Male Actor Award,” proving his immense popularity both domestically and internationally. In doing so, he also became the first Korean actor to take home an award at the Huading Awards.
Jung Il Woo also came in first in a real-time online survey conducted that asked the netizens to vote for their favorite star among the actors who attended the award ceremony.

Yedang Entertainment, home to artists such as Lim Jae Bum, Guckkasten, and Ali, is reported to be releasing a new idol group.
Though the agency has had a long history in the music industry handling broadcasts, albums, concerts, and various media content, this is the first time an idol group will debut under its label.
The 6-member boy group will debut July 19th, and they’re gathering interest as it’s been revealed that hit producers Shinsadong Tiger and Rado will be involved in their debut album.
Yedang Entertainment stated, “[It's a new group that has been prepared with a mastery and long-standing knowledge of the album industry.] The members have talent and charm to fully grab the attention of the public.”
The Yedang Entertainment idol group will have their debut showcase on July 19.

Can Korea ever accept homosexuals?
Homosexuality has long been taboo in Korean society. The traditional Confucian emphasis on familial bonds led homosexuality to be regarded as detrimental to the societal order, as defined by the philosophy’s five categories of social relationship. In the 1980s, homosexuals were widely feared as AIDS carriers.
Today, many Koreans continue to see the sexual orientation as deviant or symptomatic of mental illness. Some even question its very existence: A pastor last month claimed on national television that the country was free of homosexuality. With such perceptions to contend with, many gay men and women hide their identity from colleagues, friends and family.
Simply “coming out” is one of the biggest challenges for gay people here, according to a director at a gay men’s organization that is contacted by about 50 people each week.
“Most people have little understanding of homosexuals, not very deep. I think that they need to be more interested about gay people’s lives and human rights,” said Lee Jong-goel, director-general of Chingusai, or “Between Friends.”

A former administrative director sacked from Gwangju Inwha School, shut down last year, was sentenced to 12 years in prison Thursday for raping a deaf student.
Gwangju District Court handed down the prison sentence to the convicted man, surnamed Kim, for tying the victim’s hands and feet and raping her.
The sentence was five years longer than the seven years the prosecution had demanded.
Kim’s case stirred public outcry when it became known through a film, “The Crucible” (Dogani) in 2011.
The court also ordered the 63-year-old to wear an electronic anklet, and his personal information be disclosed on the Internet for 10 years after his release.
