A music video like segment on the latest episode “Dream High 2” had viewers’ eyes locked on the screen.
On the January 31st broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s “Dream High 2″, the current students of Kirin Arts School prepared a welcoming party for the school’s new students.
As the new students entered into the dormitory, they were greeted by the other students singing and dancing. The students began by covering T-ara‘s “Roly Poly“, to which one of the new students Rian (T-ara’s Jiyeon) skillfully dances along.
The next medley of songs was a tribute to 2NE1. The Kirin Arts School students sang and danced along to 2NE1′s hit songs including “I’m the Best” and “Follow Me“. The star of that segment was, hands down, teacher Yang Jin Man (J.Y. Park).
Then, HershE’s Nana (SISTAR‘s Hyorin) and Ailee claimed the mics as they sang their rendition of G.NA‘s “Top Girl“. Lastly, the current students got together to sing PSY‘s “Celebrity“.

Guapi Assu is a tropical rainforest along the Atlantic Ocean located 70 km away from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is home to the tree sloth, ocelot, puma and other wild animals that are facing extinction, and people have been rallying to protect the rainforest from becoming a barren wasteland due to construction and development nearby.
In a bid to better conserve the area, around five hectares of rainforest in Guapi Assu will be officially be named "Seo Tai-ji Forest" on March 21 after the Korean singer of the same name. This marks the fruition of a project by the singer's fans, who began collecting donations two years ago in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his musical debut.

Entertainer Epani was in for a surprise when the lights went out during a curtain call for the musical “Let’s Go to the Rose Inn” on Jan. 31.
The model-turned-singer was bowing to the crowd at Venus Hall in central Seoul when the lights went dark and the romantic song “What a Relief” started playing as the star’s boyfriend appeared on stage.
“As a bee is drawn to honey, I am naturally drawn to you. I promise to love you and then love you some more,” musical actor Seo Sung-min said as he got down on one knee.
Seo presented his lover with a three-carat diamond ring thought to be worth around 350 million won ($310,700). The crowd went wild as Epani accepted the public proposal and treated the fans to a passionate kiss.
“No date has been set for the big day, but I can tell you that she was ecstatic about the proposal,” a representative from Epani’s agency told My Daily on Feb. 1.
Entertainment news Web sites have since speculated that the wedding will take place in March. The couple seems to be wasting little time on romantic niceties, as the engagement comes just one month after they publically confirmed their relationship.
On Dec. 23, Epani’s agency said the star had been seeing Seo for the past five months. The couple met in August when they took part in the celebrity drag-racing event “R Stars.” One month after becoming acquainted, the two officially started dating.
Epani rose to fame in 2006 after winning a model search contest run by Playboy Korea. The starlet was previously married and has a six-year-old son.

SBS MTV's "Music Island" has added SNSD’s Sunny, IU, Rainbow, and Sunny Hill to its already star-studded main cast!
SNSD's Sunny will be the main MC of the show, making it her first solo live show host experience. IU, Rainbow, and Sunny Hill will join MBLAQ, Block-B, B.A.P, and Jung Yeop as the main performing guests for the first recording of the highly-anticipated "live talk" music show.
SBS MTV’s "Music Island" is a live music show that will feature both live performances and talk sessions with some of the hottest musicians in the industry. Each week, it will have one main guest, who will run the majority of the show, with several guest artists performing in support of the main artist. SNSD's Sunny will be the regular host of the show every week.
The first episode will air on February 24 at 8PM KST. The hour-long show will also be broadcast throughout Asia using MTV's extensive network around the region. 2NE1‘s Park Bom is in the spotlight for her tremendous love for her fans.
An online Korean community board shared a set of photos under the title, “Park Bom posing so fans could easily take her pictures“. The photos were taken from a previous concert, but netizens were charmed all the same by how considerate the idol was, allowing fans in the audience to take good shots while she was on stage.
This isn’t the first time that Park Bom made headlines for showing her love and respect for her fans. Not too long ago, she scolded her manager for pushing a fan. She later discovered that it was an accident, but the manager apologized to the fan all the same.
Park Bom also received positive reviews for giving the contestants on SBS‘s ‘K-Pop Star‘ honest and sincere critiques.

Daniel Radcliffe, who played the internationally famous boy wizard Harry Potter, revealed that he has heard of the popular girl group SNSD! Radcliffe made an appearance on ABC’s talk show “Live! With Kelly” and raised the ever-growing anticipation of SNSD’s appearance on the show February 1 (US time). Host Kelly Ripa introduced, “Yes, they’re very big! I get tweets from all over the world about this group [SNSD] being on our show.” Radcliffe also revealed that he has SNSD's CD.
Meanwhile, SNSD successfully made their American TV debut with their live performance of a remix version of “The Boys” on CBS’s “The Late Show with David Letterman” just a couple hours ago.

TVXQ‘s Changmin is set to make his acting debut in Japan with a new movie titled, ‘Run with the Gold‘!
On February 2nd, SM Entertainment revealed that Changmin was cast as one of the leading roles in the Japanese film. He’ll be playing a North Korean spy named ‘Momo’, who acts as an exchange student of engineering.
The plot takes place in the streets of Osaka, as six men race for the gold. It’s inspired by Takamura Kaoru‘s debut novel, which has earned several awards in the mystery and crime genre.
Directed by Izutsu Kazuyuki, Changmin will be working alongside stars like Tsumabushi Satoshi, Asano Tadanobu, and Nishida Toshiyuki.
Filming already began last month.

[CM's movie INFO] Changmin's movie "Ogon wo daite tobe(Fly holding gold)" is based on the Japan Mystery Suspence Award-winning novel of the same title by Kaoru Takamura, one of the most famous female novelists.
It's a story of six men planning to steal a lump of gold from the safe of the bank under the ground.
Changmin will play a key character "Momo" in the movie. Momo is a self-proclaimed foreign student of engineering department, and an expert of the blast work. But he has two faces and he' s a North Korean agent who entrapped by somebody, and is now chased as a betrayer.
The main character in the movie is "Koda", starring Satoshi Tsumabuki. Koda is a nihilistic man, but the existence of Momo will change Koda little by little. An absolute relationship of mutual trust beyond the friendship between men is the key point of the story.
The movie will be coming out in November 2012.

FT Island‘s fourth mini album “Grown Up” was released only a day ago, yet it has already received an enormous amount of love.
The mini album became available for purchase online and offline simultaneously on January 31 and has since risen to the top of offline ranking charts. The title track, “Severely”, has been moving up on the online charts as well, proving that the boys’ popularity is rising domestically.
FT Island’s agency, FNC Entertainment, issued a statement saying:
“The members of FT Island are ecstatic by the news of good responses to their album and are now training hard for awesome performances to repay the fans for their love and support.”
The group is set to make their comeback on February 4 on M. Net’s M. Countdown.

Sunday to star in a sitcom

On February 1st, SBS Plus has announced that Sunday will take on the character of Jin Bora, a 20-something year old career woman that is in a relationship with a graduate student played by actor Seo Woo Jin.
Sunday stated, "Even though it has been eigth year since I made my debut as a singer, it feels new to star in a sitcom. I will try to take in as much as I can from the other actors on set."
SBS "Oh My God x2" will air every Sunday starting February 6th.

B1A4's agency, WM Entertainment, has revealed that the group is currently recording several songs for a new album, with the possibility of a March release. However, the official adds that the format and release date for the new release has not yet been decided and that discussions are still in progress.
B1A4 (Sandeul, Baro, Jinyoung, Gongchan, CNU) made their debut last year with their mini-album "Let's Fly" and became one of the top rookies after releasing their 2nd mini-album "It B1A4."
In January, a rumor had begun about B1A4's comeback near the end of January, which was quickly denied by the agency as false. However, with confirmation now of a possible March comeback, fans are quickly getting excited for the male group's return.

MANILA, Philippines – Popular Korean group 2NE1 is back in the Philippines.
The girl group arrived in the Philippines before noon today. The purpose of their visit to the country is not known yet though some say it’s for vacation since it’s winter in Korea.
Early this morning, 2NE1 member Park Bom tweeted that they are now headed to the Philippines.
“We are now going to the Philippines,” she posted on Twitter along with a photo of fellow 2NE1 member Sandara Park.
Upon learning of the news, Filipino fans waited at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 to get a glimpse of the Korean pop group.
2NE1 arrived in the country at 11:27 AM via a Korean Air flight from Incheon International Airport.
Recently, Newsweek magazine featured 2NE1 as part of the emerging popularity of Korean hip-hop acts.
“While ‘K-pop’ has gained popularity as the catch-all term for a host of glossy boy and girl bands, 2NE1—with its signature tune, ‘Ugly’—represents K-hop, a budding movement that backs up its slick pop sheen with true R&B talent,” the magazine said in the article “Korean Hip-Hop: K-Hop Goes Global.”
It said K-hop is getting popular.
“Now K-hop is getting in on the act: Internet exposure helped boy band Big Bang win the World Wide Act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards last June, and MTV Iggy just crowned 2NE1 the Best New Band in the World,” the article said.
It added, “The ultimate validation for K-hop would be lifting Asian music out of its tacky stereotype and bringing it to the same level as Latin and European music on the global music scene. The early signs are promising: will.i.am has already begun working on tracks for 2NE1.”
On March 31, 2NE1 and Big Bang will perform at Springroove in Chiba, Japan. Also performing in the popular event are LMFAO and DJ David Guetta.
