Chae Yeon’s 8 year stalker fined 1,000,000 Won

Singer Chae Yeon’s 8-year stalker has been fined.

On January 18, in Seoul Central Disctrict Court, 30 year old female, Choi, has been fined 1,000,000 won (approximately $875.81 USD) for the wrongful use of Chaeyeon’s social identification number.

This woman has been following Chae Yeon around since the artist’s debut in 2003. She followed her around to all of her professional activites, waited outside near her house, and even stalked the singer carrying out her personal activities.

Chae Yeon has met with Choi on several occasions and tried to persuade her to stop, but the stalking continued. The stalker went to the extremes, and even found out Chae Yeon’s idenfication number as well as her cell phone number – prompting Chae Yeon to finally file a report against Choi.

Chaeyeon personally participated in the trial as a witness and told Choi, “If you no longer associate yourself with me, I will forgive you.” In the end, Choi was fined.

Eric: ‘All in’ for Shinhwa’s comeback but ‘all-stop’ for acting projects

Singer/actor Eric will be putting a stop to his acting activities for the time being to fully concentrate on Shinhwa’s comeback.

With their impending comeback in March, the preparations for Shinhwa’s 10th album are in full swing.

Since his last drama outing with “Spy Myungwol” in September last year, Eric has been constantly receiving invitations to participate in other acting projects. However, Eric has turned down these proposals in order to prepare for their album, to be released 3 years and 8 months after their last album, in conjunction with Shinhwa’s 14th anniversary.

Eric has conveyed his intentions to focus on all activities related to the album and concert performances, as well as all other related promotional activities during the period of Shinhwa’s comeback.

Eric’s rep expressed, “It’s not only just Eric, all the members are making various preparations for the album. Shinhwa may be the longest-running group but for ths comeback, the members all feel like rookies about to make their debut.”

According to the rep, the members all gather for regular meetings held more than once a week to discuss the album. The members have also received several options for the title track, and are working hard on song selection now. On top of this, the members have also been working hard on dance rehearsals for their Asia concert tour, planned to kick off on 24 March, the date of their debut performance.

The photography for the album jacket and the filming for the music video will take place in February as Shinhwa steps up the preparations for the comeback.

Se7en celebrates the release of his Japanese mini-album, ‘Somebody Else’

Back in December, Se7en released a MV for his new Japanese single “Somebody Else“. Today, he released his full Japanese mini-album and like a proud dad, showed off his new CDs via Twitter.

Se7en tweeted, “D-DAY!!! Se7en Japan new album [SOMEBODY ELSE] Released!!! On sale today!!! Please listen to it a lot!!! PEACE~!!”.

In the picture, Se7en held up the three different editions for his mini-album. He later posted another photo saying, “I also bought a copy~~!!! HAHAHA~~”.

Big Bang to Appear on Asahi TV's "Music Station" January 20

Big Bang will appear on the popular Japanese music program, Asahi TV’s “Music Station” on January 20.

Big Bang’s comeback is forecast for February and that pushed back the debut date for YG’s new girl group. Originally Big Bang’s new album was slated for a March release. This would have fit in perfectly for their 2012 Big Show concert. However, the preparations for the album were ahead of schedule.

Currently the 15^th Anniversary YG Family Concert tour is going on in Japan. On January 7-8, the concert was held in Osaka. The concert featured 41 total performances by YG Entertainment singers. There were also some special collaborative stages, as Big Bang’s Taeyang, Daesung, Seungri and Se7en did covers of 2NE1’s “Lonely” and “It Hurts.” The “YG Family Concert” will continue on at the Saitama Super Arena on January 21-22.

2NE1′s Sandara Park gathered the jealousy of netizens with a photo of her slender, yet proportioned body line.

On January 17th, Dara posted via me2day, “This Spring’s big project! Bba-bam! Everybody follow what I say after watching the commercial! Oh so moist! moist! moist! moist! moist! We just finished up a concert in Pyeongchang for the Winter Olympics’ success and on our way back to Seoul. Its been a while so catch the concert on air!” and attached the photo.

In the photo, Dara is laying on her belly on the sofa with her legs up to show her perfect slender S-line, garnering the attention of netizens.

She also shared a photo of herself and fellow 2NE1 members visiting children at a hospital, and stated, “I went to the children’s unit at Severance Hospital with our members. We met adorable babies and greeted them, and signed things. They were so adorable and we were so glad to meet them.. but we couldn’t only smile.. it was so upsetting seeing little babies so sick.. All of you! I want to see you get healthy, run around and play, and come see our concerts!!!”



Ok she's is beautiful and cute but people seriously need to know what a S-line is.

European youths surveyed about South Korea & K-pop

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) recently conducted a survey on the brand image of South Korea among young people in Europe. They surveyed 1208 youths, aged 18-30 years old, in five major European cities -- London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan and Budapest.

When asked about what comes to mind they think of South Korea, the respondents answered North Korea (9%), K-Pop (6.9%) and Seoul (6.5%). Others mentioned war, Samsung, kimchi, the 2002 FIFA World Cup and taekwondo.

When asked about K-pop singers, the respondents cited BIGBANG (8.8%), BEAST (5.8%), Girls Generation (5.5%), Dong Bang Shinki (3.3%) and Rain (3.0%).

Awareness of South Korea and a preference for Korean culture and the country itself were highest in Hungary, followed by France, Italy, Britain and Germany.

North Korea close to collapse, says Kim Jong-il’s eldest son

A new book claims that the eldest son of North Korea’s late leader Kim Jong-il believes the impoverished regime is in danger of collapse and that his young half-brother, chosen to lead after Kim’s death, is merely a figurehead.

The book by Tokyo-based journalist Yoji Gomi went on sale Wednesday. He says it is based primarily on email exchanges he had with Kim Jong Nam over many years.

The book, titled My Father, Kim Jong Il and Me, drew immediate attention as a rare view into the family that has led the secretive country for decades — though Kim Jong Nam is thought to be estranged from his family and the workings of government. Since Kim Jong-il’s death Dec. 17, North Korea has been led by his youngest son, Kim Jong-un.

In Adam Johnson's "The Orphan Master's Son," a terrific new novel about life under North Korea's recently deceased Kim Jong Il, we're told why:

"Real stories," "human ones," "could get you sent to prison, and it didn't matter what they were about." If a story "diverted emotion from the Dear Leader, it was dangerous."

Pak Jun Do, titular hero of Johnson's novel, therefore spends his formative years sticking to the script written for him. As an early mentor instructs him, "if a man and his story are in conflict" in North Korea, "it is the man who must change."

SHINEE PROVING TO BE ONE OF THE BEST AGAIN

SHINee‘s ‘SHINee The First Concert In Japan – SHINEE WORLD‘ DVD was released in Japan on January 11th and sold a total of 29,000 copies within the first week of sales. With this, SHINee has made their mark in history, securing the #2 spot with their DVD on the Weekly Oricon DVD chart.

According to Oricon, the only overseas male artists to rank so high on the DVD chart since April of 1999 was 2-member British group Underworld, as well as Korea’s very own 2PM who previously had a DVD weekly ranking at #4.

The DVD contains footage of the boys performing at their independent concert in Tokyo last December.

In related news, the boys made a breakthrough in Japan with their first Japanese single “Replay – You Are My Everything” on June 22nd last year.

They sold 91,000 copies the first week, setting a new record for a debuting overseas artist from Korea.

It has been revealed that Super Junior’s Leeteuk (Urrrgh!!!!) was the man that visited SISTAR’s ‘no male entry’ dorm.

On the January 17^th episode of SBS’ ‘Strong Heart’, SISTAR’s Bora announced that Leeteuk was the male on the set who had visited their dorm – surprising everyone on set.

Bora had previously teased everyone when she stated, “There is one male here who has visited our dorm before and that person is a male idol.”

She continued, “We are comfortable around each other so sometimes we walk around naked. Of course, when this person visited we were wearing clothes (Good!!!), but it was still awkward and embarrassing.”

It was later revealed that this man was none other than Leeteuk. Leeteuk explained, “It was when we used to film for the show that involved us raising babies.” (Don't go back to their dorm ever again!!!)

Male viewers could not hide their envy as they stated, “Leeteuk must have done a lot of good things in his past life”, “He must have been so happy”, and “I wish I could visit SISTAR’s dorm.” (I want to live there!!!)

SME building no longer boring, new look comparable to YGE's

The photos of the new SM Entertainment building were posted on an online community board recently.

Last week another poster turned the photos of the largest entertainment agencies’ buildings into heated discussions about who had the most beautiful building. SM’s office was described as a town hall like building for its clean exterior, but many netizens had also described it as boring.

YG‘s building was described as a venture corporation, JYP as a theater, and Cube was described as looking like a cafe. For the most part, the netizens agreed YG’s building looked the most attractive.

However, it has been revealed that SM has a new building in Cheongdam-dong. The new building reveals interior design and spaces that would rival that of the YG building. Also notable to mention is lack of photos of the practice studios, revealing just how big the entire building actually is. So the debate continues.

Korea's Beyonce receives an all-kill!

SISTAR‘s lead vocalist Hyorin released a new single called “I Choose To Love You” on January 19th, and it’s already achieved an all-kill on the main music charts!

Starship Entertainment explained that “I Choose To Love You” garnered impressive results shortly after its midnight release, reaching #1 on all the main music charts, such as Melon, Soribada, Cymusic, and Daum Music.

The agency believes that the charm of the song lies in Hyorin’s dramatic transformation. The idol, who’s known as ‘Korea’s Beyonce’, pulled away from her strong, sexy image to become a young girl in love. Originally sung by Zoo, “I Choose To Love You” carries a bright, sweet sound that got bolstered by Hyorin’s signature vocals.
